Malygos Galakrond Rogue - 5 to Legend! There are 3 main ways to win with this deck:
1. Invoke Galakrond, the Nightmare 4+ times to get Galakrond, the Nightmare to final form, then play, draw 4 cards that cost 0 and Malygos combo him. You can also draw more that cost 0 with Heistbaron Togwaggle's Wondrous Wand. Or use coins from Umbral Skulker.
2. Draw a bunch of cards with the combo above and play a giant 20/20+ Edwin VanCleef and taunt it
3. Overwhelm them with Lackeys, Dragons, and 0 cost cards
Keep board control and you can overwhelm your opponent with your 0 cost cards and continuous lackey creation.
Just reached legend with this deck after climbing from 5. Pics here of my progression for proof -
How to play:
Mulligans:
Always keep (going first and second): Backstab, Preparation, Praise Galakrond!, EVIL Miscreant, Seal Fate, SI:7 Agent, Shield of Galakrond
Always keep (going second, including cards above): Bloodmage Thalnos, Edwin VanCleef, Eviscerate
Sometimes keep: Zilliax against hunter/pirate decks, Sap against deathrattle rogue
Edit: I've been keeping Eviscerate recently if I think they are an aggressive deck.
Early turn progression (1-4)
Early turns you will probably be playing weapon and if needed, a tempo SI: 7 Agent. Don't be afraid to use Praise Galakrond! on one of your opponent's minions early game. You are just trying to keep board control early and invoke as many times as possible. You want to get your Galakrond, the Nightmare to Galakrond, Azeroth's End by the time the late game comes.
Obviously use Backstab and SI:7 Agent or EVIL Miscreant to gain some early tempo. You can use Backstab and Bloodmage Thalnos early as well against Hunter's 3 health minions or Bloodmage Thalnos, Preparation and Seal Fate if you need to deal 4 damage, such as against Armorsmith.
If the opponent hasn't done anything early on, you can Seal Fate their face if they are at full health to get an early Lackey down.
If you go second, try to The Coin and SI:7 Agent or EVIL Miscreant to get early game tempo. You could also make an 8/8+ Edwin VanCleef on turn three with a combo such as Backstab, Preparation, Praise Galakrond! as your combo pieces. Be creative!
Mid turn progression (5 -7)
At turn 5 you will usually be playing Shield of Galakrond or Zilliax. You'll want to try to play as many invoke cards as possible up to this point to try and get your Galakrond to the final level.
Umbral Skulker is pretty key at this point. It's a pretty good combo to play her and then evolve her with Witchy Lackey. Having three The Coin is INSANE. It not only gives great draw with Gadgetzan Auctioneer but also you can empty your hand the turn after you play her and then use The Coin to summon a giant 20/20+ Edwin VanCleef on turn 7-
Taunt up one of these and you are pretty good to go -
A note on Heistbaron Togwaggle, ALWAYS get Wondrous Wand. Drawing cards for 0 is insane in this deck, especially if they end up being Edwin VanCleef, Malygos or Galakrond, Azeroth's End.
Feel free to play Kronx Dragonhoof in order to draw Galakrond, the Nightmare. It's more important to use Galakrond's battlecry than Kronx's.
Late game progression (8+)
Here is where the real fun is. With both Wondrous Wand and Galakrond, Azeroth's End, you can draw 7 cards that cost 0. That is INSANE. You have a great chance to draw some crazy overwhelming combos, like 2 Shield of Galakrond with a giant Edwin VanCleef behind them.
The dream combo is here -
Bloodmage Thalnos + Malygos + Sinister Strike x2 + Eviscerate x2 + Galakrond's 5 damage weapon = 43 damage (48 if you count the weapon twice). Most of the time, you won't need to do that much damage to win. I beat a Hunter once from full health and that's the only time I can remember winning from that high.
Edit: Below picture is of beating a random Hunter with a Malygos combo
Note on that - Warriors have been a problem recently. I made this deck when the meta was full of face hunters. Warriors have been out-tempoing me recently.
Play Kronx Dragonhoof if you need a board clear or to heal/deal direct damage.
Obviously I haven't written every single strategy or detail about how to play this deck. Have fun with it! Most games are different due to the nature of drawing cards costing 0. Again, be creative and have fun with 7 cards costing 0 mana and 6 extra coins!
You're comment assumes that someone above rank 10 is inexperienced enough to know what they're doing.
What you fail to realize is that anyone can be at a low rank, but also a very experienced player because they may have been playing for a long time...like years.
People at a higher rank than 10 are there because they probably don't have a job and can play 20 to 30 games a day. What really matters is how many games (total) does a person have under their belt.
I've been playing since beta and have nearly 9000 wins, all golden heroes, and completed 6 expansions (4 in heroic mode), which means I've probably played close to 16,000 games and I've been ranked higher than 10 plenty of times before.
Don't add your two cents if your mentally flat broke...no matter what rank you are.
What can I remove for Leeroy? Thanks for posting this.
Thanks for the advice. I have some for you too.

This deck is so much fun! The possibilities are endless and every game looks different. my concern is card management, since I end up with many cards on my hand sometimes. What is your game play when you draw malygos in the early turns? Do you go for tempo dmg and try to finish the game at turn 10 with coins and malygos?
It's always easy to assume I'm making small mistakes or misplays, but I have been playing since the beta and have nearly 9,000 total wins and all heroes are golden. My point is that it's safe to assume I not making newb mistakes. I'm just literally getting killed by card-draw and opponents pulling stronger combos before I can reach any of my strong combos.

I'd like to commend you for reaching legend and for creating this incredible guide.
As a fellow deckbuilder I really enjoy seeing people like you who put their heart and soul into creating similar content.
I will definitely try this out tonight, not only it's original, but it has multiple win conditions.
Great job mate!
The deck is too slow in this aggro meta full of face hunters, pirate warriors and zoolocks. It also struggles against Necrium Rogue. Interesting deck but hard to make it work in this meta. I'm using a controlish Galakrond Warrior and I feel it's working better in the current meta.
6 straight losses. 3 Warriors. By the time I get the cards I need...I have no health. Went from rank 17 to 19. It's soooo fun to have 16/16 Edwin on the board when I have 7 health and my opponent has 4 minions on the board and a weapon in hand. Or what was even more fun was on my 2nd game Maly came up as the 30th card and I had no spells left. Or on my 3rd game when my opening hand had all spells and all I could do was attack with my weapon for 4 turns until I got a minion to play. Killed by card draw most every time. The rest of the time I was killed by my opponents great combos that removed my face before I could play any decent combos.
I’m having the opposite experience honestly. Went from 12 to 4 in a day and am almost at 1 now. I think it may be small costly misplays rather than the deck itself especially if you’re at 17.
Dude, nobody above rank 10 should write anything in other people's list.
Got me from rank 12 to 4 in like a day and won a various of different ways. Maybe it has some bad matchups once you get to legend but is doing work for me now. Most losses were from dream draws from super aggro decks. Any tips for that?
Glad to hear! With zoo, I use weapon plus my early cards to just deplete their resources so they have to tap multiple times. This gets them pretty low in the mid/endgame so you can sometimes just use your Eviscerate and Sinister Strike on their own to kill him. Hunter is a toss up, if they get the dream Freezing Trap pulls with sidequests yea, it's pretty tough. If you keep early game board control, taunt up and wait to draw your combo pieces you can take them down from 25+ health pretty easily.
Thanks! An update here: hovering around 1-2 and making that legend push! Would be my first time!!
i like it
Sinister strike is almost always dead card against aggro which represents 99% of the meta at the moment. The deck lacks of early game plays/pressure that has been a must for rogue recently and has no board clear, so since you fall behind on board it's almost impossible to recover. Often times you will have dead cards in your hand till the very late stage of the game (for example in my last game on turn 6 i had a hand with malygos, sinister strike, auctioneer, a rush lackey and edwin). I would really love the deck to work because maly rogue is my favourite archetype in the game since i started playing, but i think the deck is not any good for now. Good luck everybody
I tried to put in a ton of early game cards to deal with aggressive decks, such as Backstab, SI:7, Seal Fate, EVIL Miscreant, and Thalnos. Hero power and those cards (even an Eviscerate) should help. Yes, SS is going to be useless against aggro as a finisher, but it can be used as a combo activator for SI, EVIL Miscreant and Van Cleef. You can also use it to draw with Gadgetzan.
Yes, sometimes you get really bad hands. I haven't won every single game with this deck. But against aggro the way I've won is that I basically try to remove as much threats as I can efficiently with my weapon and cards and then cheat out taunts or a huge combo.
Hope that helps...
Yeah but most of those cards are turn 3 plays if you are not going second with coin. So without a 0 mana combo activator, SI:7 is a naked 3/3 body and miscreant a 1/4 (in this case you would never play it i know). Backstab and seal fate are good removals but are reactive cards only and so you will still has no board presence by playing them alone. I guess the deck can work against slower decks or finding a perfect curve (in particular with coin as any rogue), but against face hunter, galakrond/pirate warrior, and any type of "zoo" deck u can't really handle the pressure imo. Maybe i am guessing wrong. Still loving the content of the post and the effort you put in it, good work really (:
Normally i play only mage and warlock. I wanted to test something new. Since yesterday i play rogue too. It is a bit difficult to handle for me because of that. But i really love your deck. Currently i am 7 - 2 and rank 4. Thank you !
No problem! Glad you like it! Have you faced any Warriors recently? I'm thinking about substituting some cards if Warrior gets more popular.
