BIG HUNTER (WILD)

DISCLAIMER: The main goal of this deck is to have fun!

After deciding to quit standard for a while, I was really stuck to come up with new deck ideas in wild. Because for me a deck has to meet some requirements to get played:

  • It has to be fun.
  • It is primarily a non-aggro deck.
  • It really shouldn't be a deck that everybody is playing right now.
  • And finally: It also shouldn't be horrificly bad.

With that being said I tried out something totally different, of which I am pretty sure to have never ever seen out there on ladder. I tried making Recruit Hunter work. But not the normal Recruit shenanigans with Kathrena Winterwisp, I got brave and included Master Oakheart. It took a little while to get used to it and shaping the deck to be better over the time on ladder. Usual threads to the deck were really aggressive and also really Taunt-heavy as well as some combo decks. My winrate was at around 47% which is really good for such a slow, but rewarding, deck that relies on Master Oakheart more than any other recruit deck out there. But if you get him in your early turns or the starting hand, thrust me, you want to keep him, the deck is really showing it's true power and will then be very hard to beat. You need quite some legendaries but if you have most of them it is definitely worth a try in my opinion.

Mulligan Guide:

That's it. You have to get a bit lucky with getting Master Oakheart but other than that the game plan is just to stabilize until you can play Master Oakheart. You can get a discount or maybe even two if you are lucky, when Emperor Thaurissan is on the board and Master Oakheart is in your hand. Try to trigger Silver Vanguards deathrattle with Play Dead as often as you can.
