Since a month has passed from the release of The Witchwood, the meta has become more defined. The realisation of over-rated decks, looking at you Shudder Shaman, has paved way for potentially new meta defining & refined decks. However, there are still some archetypes that are, in my opinion, still under-rated, such as Control/Mind blast Priest.
Upon the arrival of the new season, Zetalot hit rank 1 legend on EU during his stream with a win streak of 17 wins in a row! Like most variation's of the archetype, the deck utilises the dragon package to allow it to control the board till the late game, where it can easily burst its opponent from full health thanks to Alexstrasza. What makes this variation more successful than others is the inclusion of Squashlings, which provides sustain & tempo, a great tool against aggressive decks.
I will write a guide if the deck receives a lot of interest. In the meantime, feel free to ask any questions in the comments' section :) If you liked the deck, an upvote would greatly be appreciated.
As usual, Kiwiinbacon has made a great video spotlighting the deck's potential, all the while explaining every play he makes. Make sure to watch the video, as it explains how the deck should be played. If you enjoyed the video, a like would be greatly appreciated & you can also subscribe to his channel for more awesome content!

May by i don't understand how this deck works, but where is the win condition?
Vs aggro you just clear, clear, clear and when you eventually clear their win condition they concede.(this is yours win condition!)
Vs midrange which is Rexxar most of the time i dont see win condition.
Vs mage is easy you can heal :D
Vs warrior and quest warr especially, again no win condition you can also auto-concede vs that deck too!
Vs taunt druid what? You will shuffle their taunts in his deck? oh cmon.. ;d
And double mind blast here without Velen or anything else for OTK is just 10 dmg in face or 5 most of the times!
And im sorry for my english, but i guess you will understand my point anyway.
Wincon is Mind Blasts and Shadowreaper HPs, while delaying them from killing you pretty much. Turn 10, two Mind Blasts + three HPs is 16 damage, which is enough to kill someone post Alexstrazsa. Getting additional Mind Blasts with Shadow Visions can help solidify a win without Shadowreaper, or get you more Psychic Screams to keep them from playing things.
You could always run the version of this with that Priest legendary that shuffles their deck into yours and focus on more of a Fatigue game, I suppose. Or throw in a Velen instead of the Geist, since Skulking Geist isn't needed anymore. Point being, it's not really meant to be an OTK deck, just a good control deck that can control the board long enough to throw out a nice burst of damage at the end, with just enough reach to beat out most additional healing.
I've been having troubles against other priests lately. They seem to go very late game, and I run out of cards after a long ass back and forth. Maybe its bad RNG on my end or a slight mistake and a key moment I havent caught, but it's happened multiple times today. Any tips, pointers, input?
I don't see the point of the skulking geist
It was in there specifically to counter:
With the current nerf in place, Cube and Control locks seem to have mostly disappeared. So you could make a case to cut it if you aren't facing any decks with core-1 drop spells.
exactly, I think there are more valuable cards to put, also the second psychic scream seems a bit too much right now
The mulligan guide has been crossed off but i dont see it anywhere ??
I have every card but Alexstrasza, which I'm saving up for. What would be the best substitute until I get that card?
An extra Spellbreaker would work okay imo
Hmm.... Do you think it's worth crafting Anduin for this deck? I was never a big priest fan, but I want a least one playable priestdeckand Anduin is the oly card I'm missing. And I hate the spiteful-mechanic.
Anduin is absolutely necessary in this deck. You can not play without it.
Yes I know.^^
But I'm wondering if Anduin is worth crafting just to play this deck. Since Raza nerf/rotation the card lost the most of its power. And this control priest is probably fun, but I guess it's struggling against aggro decks. Even if the meta is slower than before, there are many aggro decks (3 kinds of palas).
EDIT: Ok, it seems like I'm an idiot and this deck is actually good against the paladecks. xD
So I guess I will try it then.
squashling is low key impactful
This is a really nice deck but it tends to get completely screwed over by Dinomancy hunters and is incredibly dependant on getting a good opening hand to start up.
Dinomancy Hunter? That's.... What meta is this cause I want in
I've actually run into a couple of them whilst I was breaking this deck in, they applied lots of pressure too fast for this deck to handle and in the end they overwhelmed me before I could draw an answer to them.
I've had the same issue with a lot of aggro decks really, unless you draw your specific AoE cards like Duskbreaker they normally overwhelm you before you can do a lot of damage (and as soon as they start buffing them there's very little hope).
Which is why in light of the Cube lock nerfs I switched out Geist for Doomsayer seeing as aggro seems to be more readily used now.
Dont have Harrison, is it replaceable with a regular Acidic Swamp Ooze?
Yes
Most of the time I tend to find Swamp Ooze a bit more useful than Harrison due to the lower mana cost and since you already have decent draw with Cleric and Acolyte I would say that Harrison is optional.
Thank you, i did come to this exact conclusion. If i had the dust to create him, I think I would prefer to save it for this very reason, the lower cost Ooze comes in handy.
