I made a fun custom "old school" control Paladin, but I was actually surprised with the results. Climbed to r4 in no time. Now I'm trying to tune it a bit, but the core will stay:

- Aggro hate

- More aggro hate

- 2 MCT/2 Spellbreaker Cubelock hate

- No odd/even bs because I'm a hipster

2 Equalities: obvious

2 Potion of heroism: at first it was 1 and for the fun, but it proved very useful so now it's 2. It's a cantrip so it's never wasted, even vs control, this + trade = value. Also a cheap pyro activator vs aggro.

2 Pyromancer: we play control Paladin so obviously 2 pyros. Vs Paladin we mulligan hard for these.

2 Doomsayers: aggro hate. Worst case scenario it's 7 life for 2 mana. Everybody knows how good it is at this point, only thing worth to mention is, when aggro is silencing it t2/t3 while spamming emotes, you can then Aldor it and take some of the tempo back with a 1/7 + 3/3.

2 Plated Beetles: even more aggro hate. We got no real t2 except for Doomsayer and it's not always relevant. 2/3 + 3 armor for 2 is very nice vs aggro. N'Zoth rotating out is no reason to forget the beetles, it's early game stuff. Hero power every t2 would be too weak vs aggro. I've tested Hydrologist in this spot but was not satisfied. The extra armor really helps vs braindead rushes/odd Hunters.

1 Acolyte: at first it was two but two is a lil' too much, especially now with Heroisms/Stonehills. It is mostly vs aggro but I've noticed a lot of my opponent were somewhat over-reacting to it. So 1 is good.

2 Mind Control Tech: okay this may look overkill, but in this meta it seems I always find value for both. It's good vs CTA, vs Cubelock, vs Spiteful, vs Taunt Druid. I know while 1 is okay, 2 is a lot, but so far I like it this way. People will spam the board anyway, and when you play the second one it deals bonus damage to your opponent's soul. Maybe one day I'll cut one for something else, but for now the meta is literally asking for it imo.

2 Stonehills: self-explanatory, a fair t3 versus aggro. More Tyrions/Tarims vs Control, more cheap taunts vs Aggrhoes. Stonehills are just too perfect in this archetype.

2 Aldor: maybe I'm too vintage but I won't cut my Aldors. Just too useful to calm the cheeses (Spiteful/Mountain giants/), worst case scenario it's still a 3/3 for 3 who'll make an enemy creature 1/x. Useful from t3 to the endgame.

2 Consecration: self-explanatory

2 Benevolent Djinn: This is the real aggro hate. Usually played behind a taunt, they'll make those burn mages/odd hunters/eboladins cry. Need to be clever with these, they are gamebreaker but aggrhoes will unleash the hate on them, silencing it when they can't kill it. Make it hard to kill with potions of heroism/taunts and it WILL win you games. Vs control I usually hoard them to play them after a board clear.

2 Spellbreakers: Cubelock hate, and always useful overall. 2 is minimum.

Harrison Jones: Cubelock hate + much needed draw. For us Harrison > Ooze everyday.

Spikeridged Steed: Excellent buff overall, you usually trade right after so it got value even when it baits a silence. Best case scenario, vs aggro on an already silenced Doomsayer. Also works good on Acolyte/Pyro already in play. Maybe one day I'll cut a MCT to play two.

Dinosize: Excellent buff, always 2 for 1 at least. Not much to say except I don't feel the need for a second one.

Silver Sword: anti control tech, at first I messed around with Val'anyr but it was so slow, I'm trying this for the moment. It's a tech slot I'm uncertain of, so it may change for another Dinosize or whatever value card.

Uther: potentially +20hp and better dudes? Sign me up! Vs Aggro Djinns are here to keep us alive 'til we can swing the game with Uther. Vs Control 2/2 dudes & 5/3 weapon are fine value.

Tyrion/Ysera: just value cards, if I needed to cut one it'd be Tyrion as when I need him I often got him out of my Stonehill already. I keep Ysera as long as I can vs Control, I try to track the removals so I can get value out of her in the lategame. Standard stuff.

I'm no legend, feel free to criticize/suggest alternatives.
