Kripp's take on Leyline Exodia Mage.
Video: https://youtu.be/pUuqXAA06fY
I tried the deck when I saw a video of Kripp playing it, it's really fun.
However, I found some changes that make the deck better, at least for me:
- 1x Molten Reflection - 1x Sorcerer's Apprentice - 1x Leyline Manipulator and - 2x Coldlight Oracle - 2x Primordial Glyph
+ 2x Cone of Cold + 2x Loot Hoarder + 2x Acolyte of Pain and + 1x Ice Barrier
For me this second version is (paradoxically) way more consistent, as you have much more card draw and freeze available to stall the game until you have your combo. Playing Kripp's version I usually had to dig to the bottom of my deck anyways, even though you have many combo pieces twice, just because I was looking for the second Simulacrum or Archmage Antonidas. The reason I got rid of the Primordial Glyph is because I was usually looking for another freeze anyway...
Why so salty, mate?
You don't have to make the changes if you don't like them :) I just stated that I made a better experience with these changes
most communities don't particularly like assholes.
The main advantage of quest version is that you can also win without combo with double turn apprentice attacking face. It is also more consistent in terms of finding answers due doing your quest. On the other side, questless version is kinda more flexible and able to run both artificers and Ice Barrier at the same time. As said before, you can also win without full combo, and I guess you can also put some tech card in this deck like Alex or weapon destruction or even the secret eater if it would be worth. DIrty rat is still a pain in the ass tho.
Honestly this is terrible in current meta. You have to struggle for every single win. Had 5-6 games in row where my combo was at the bottom 5-7 cards vs aggro summon bullshit decks.
well kripp isnt known for ranked play he just tries stuff out when the expansion is fresh.
he is a arena master not a constructed player
So sick of this. As soon as streamer plays a deck, maybe changes a few cards, all of a sudden it's "his" deck.

Since not drawing the two Simulacrum and relying solely on praying for drawing the second one kinda gives you free loose when you're pressured down, here's a good trick I hadn't heard about before that is mostly useful against Highlander Priest, Cubelocks, and other non-aggro decks against which you could be okay with not using your 2 Primordial Glyph just for value :
This manipulation is only really necessary when you still haven't drawn the second Simulacrum and deals a minimum of 30 damage in one turn; could be more if you get to pick burn spells off of Primordial Glyph and the opponent doesn't heal;
You need to have in hand : Archmage Antonidas, 2 Leyline Manipulator, 2 Primordial Glyph (or the spells they created, we'll come back to it later), 1 Simulacrum, 1 Sorcerer's Apprentice, 1 Molten Reflection and either the second Sorcerer's Apprentice or the second Molten Reflection.
Of course there are other manipulations that you'll figure out while playing the deck (mainly at Step 2 when you can for example use the Molten Reflection on the 0 mana Sorcerer's Apprentice instead and play the two Primordial Glyph at that moment, hoping to have 4 or less mana spells to pick and play them right away, which you might end up needing if you've drawn your Primordial Glyph late and already played the first Leyline Manipulator). I think the archetype's low winrate is considerably due to players relying only on the full combo to win their games and even worse, using their Freeze effect too soon. That said, I hope my small tip will help some of you winning more game you didn't even realize you had already won ;-)
That's a really great alternate combo! Hadn't thought about that. However, I've recently taken out extra copies of leyline and molten, in order to add draw (and maybe experiment with more aoe effects). My reasoning was that it doesn't really help to have leyline and molten early on anyways. Do you think it's worth having extra copies of them?
Its not Kripps deck
Ok he edited 2 cards so by the rules of hearthpwn its his unique deck
If you only run 1 copy, then that could be at bottom of deck, 2 copies gives more consistency to the combo. Also protects against a dirty rat pulling one of them.
Ive played a few games and it seems pretty good, but difficult to get to your combo against aggro.
The freeze mage draw engine is enough. also coldlight ~~ acolyte
