Love playing ramp druid just for this card. Trogg into Totem Golem? Have a 5/6 with taunt and divine shield on turn 3
bad card, but funny reference to chess
The card itself is fine I suppose. I play it in arena since in constructed, decks normally need a plan and a taunt/divine shield doesn't contribute to much of a plan.
BUT HOLY SHIT, the sounds on this guy are so funny. PREPARE TO LOSE! I honestly never fail to laugh when he says that. I see it coming every time, but something about the booming confidence makes it so genuinely funny.
I can see this in ramp druid because of the amounts of high cost minions
When this card dies it says "Inconceivable!".
You Keep Using That Word, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means.
Based on the golden animation it appears he's riding a horse.....on a boat.
Might be worth it in a handlock deck. Also, Kripparians kind of YOLO/LuLzy Holy Wrath Paladin could also use something like this. The biggest problem is hitting something like Shields Up/Argus.
A horse!? OMG I thought that was his cock XD
Such a coin flip card. It's either amazing or awful. If this was a 6/6 you would at least break even on the stat line. Think it will be tried and decided to be much too unreliable. Think it will be a great Arena card though.
A THOUGHT OCCURS! This card would be awesome if the text read Battlecry: Revel a minion in each deck. If yours costs more, gain Divine Shield, if not, gain Taunt. That way it becomes a card that is good for the cost and stats, and has a random upside either way.
5/6 isn't awful, it is very good actually.
It kills a lot of popular meta cards of the similar cost , and survive. It kills Loatheb, Sludge Belcher, Emperor Thaurissan, Shieldmaiden, Ancient of Lore...
For 6 mana you can play Sunwalker, Piloted Sky Golem, or even Boulderfist Ogre cards that useful 100% that you cast it. This guy is 6 mana take a 50/50 shot at getting great value or terrible value. Now then the question becomes, is 1/1 of stats worth taking a huge gamble on? I would argue, no.
i think the kill pressure it has against many popular minions makes it viable enough. the joust it has is nice but adding taunt is relatively easy for most decks and in paladin divine shield is as common as people are to the earth. the stat lines aren't the greatest but this card can answer to kodorider which can be annoying if not dealt with almost immediately. overall he is not bad but i think you want him to be a bit OP.
It's not actually 50/50. As this card itself is a 6 drop, you probably won't have too many high cost cards aside from this (unless you are running a giant deck or some crazy gimmick deck). If he costs like 4 that would be a lot more reasonable. As it stands he's more like a "RNG I pray to thee" type of card rather than 1 that is reliable.
XD
Upside: +1/+1 Sunwalker
Downside: -1/-1 Boulderfist Ogre
Seems like you have to hit the joust all the time for this to be playable. Even then, doesn't seem that good.
Seems great to me. When you'll need the taunt, against aggro, you'll almost always get it.
If you live to turn 6 and draw this, that is. Even then, most aggro decks have spell finishers.
5 attack can kill of Taurissan, so even if you lose the Joust, you can still counter one of the best 6 mana legendaries and survive.
Aaaand your face is exposed, lethal, GG, babyrage.
if you play it after thaurissan is dropped, then best case scenario you kill thaurissan next turn, so your opponent gets 2 activation of hand cost reduction. that is just too slow you will lose so much tempo by doing that.
and if your opponent plays thaurissan after you already have a master jouster in play, then either he's silly (playing into a bad trade) or he's playing some combo deck so it doesn't really matter (in first case you win anyway, in second case you lose anyway.)
