Great card to keep or regain board control. Aptly named too, cuz it's a mini-meteor

One peg down from Grievous Bite, but somehow more frightening
"Cue the meme music"
From a shooting star to a Meteor with Malygos
Could be seen as a worse version of Arcane Explosion but offers more precise board control for Mage. With a little bonus Spell Damage this becomes a better, cheaper version of Powershot so yeah, i'm excited abut this card.
It's Arcane Missiles, but it actually hits minions.
Feels bad with how much better this is than Arcane Missles in control. Aggro still prefers every single hit of face dmg and you can cast it without any minions on board, so that's some incentive.
This is already playable on its own.
With additional spell damage it becomes very good.
IT'S A COOL PLACE
Interestingly enough after all this spell damage for mages revealed people were saying stuff about additional Arcane Explosion
I really hope this doesn't completely break Tempo Mage again. it's no fun getting snowballed by Mana Wyrms and Fireballs.
I mean, its a purely anti-minion spell, and a really weak one at that. Arcane Missiles works so much better for Tempo Mage since it can hit the face.
As I see it, the potential of Shooting Star lies in how drastically its power scales with Spell Damage. At Spell Damage +2 (say, Celestial Emissary), Arcane Missiles becomes deal 5 random damage, whereas Shooting Star becomes a 3 damage AoE. With virtually any form of Spell Damage, this card can easily 3 for 1.
Of course, we'll have to see what other Spell Damage cards are revealed for Mage, but even now I'm pretty confident in calling this a sleeper card of the set.
How is this better than an Arcane Explosion ? (which is too weak to kill eggs or other stuff on the board you shouldn't attack)
(and don't tell me it's because it cost 1 more mana... if you too eager to save just one mana mana to clean an entire board of silver hand recruit, maybe you shouldn't play HS at all, for it is mostly aggro pally right now)
It is not better, but anice addition with all the spell damage that mage is getting. You can do 3 damage to 3 minions on turn 3 now with Celestial Emissary
Of course 1 mana is a big deal. Especially to combine with spell damage
Blizzard realized that Mage is weak to agro and is working to correct it.
Look out, it's got a gun!
