Chaqazarad is wrong, you can use armor on your minions as long as you have a mind control effect card in your deck and you somehow manage to take control of this Steamwheedle Sniper card. There are some neutral cards that have mind control effect, but they randomly choose a card. Very slim chance, but still a likelihood.
Hmmm I dont think so man Two sources:

Or "Your Steady Shot can target minions"
Just imagine if there was a card that let your hero power do 2 damage to anything; and couldn't be removed by clearing a minion from the board.
Oh wait.
oh wait it costs 1 more mana and is a spell not a minions which makes it almost unplayable
ooh the swearing that turn 2 sniper will cause... such a good card to deny opponent's 2 drop. Unless there's something like frostbolt in hand, playing this at start gives such a boost.
Can somebody please explain to me how this is overpowered? You're looking at 4 mana for 2 damage on board. Sure, theres the possibility of Hunters Mark but you're talking about 3 cards for a pseudo Assassinate that triggers Deathrattles. If you drop this turn 2 then yeah its a decent body and has the potential to close down the early game if left up but who's going to face a Hunter and not aim to have removal for it? If you play it later as somebody else mentioned then it's simply 4 mana for 2 damage on board. Because who can't remove a 3 body midgame or lategame?
I don't think the card is over powered, but I do think its extremely good for what it does. For one, it doesn't permanently modify your power, it just temporarily does, unlike Shadowform. Second, if compared to Auchenai Soulpriest it also is somewhat interesting, as it doesn't mean you can't still just shot face. A card like this more is a card that has to be removed before you can play cards that would die to the two damage and give you opponent huge value. Now, it can't increase you power at all like a second Shadowform, it also doesn't reset your power at all, and it can't be combo'd with something like Soulpriest. It does however only have upside, there is no lose ability to do what your power could do before, unlike these other two cards, which means you don't have to worry about playing it and losing the ability to win the game. Its certainly not a must play, and it is vulnerable to almost all played removal and most minions, but it is a very strong version of hero power manipulation.
True. I meant 2 cards. Still unconvinced that it's overpowered.
Clearly its not over powered, its a 2/3, and honestly it wouldn't be played in the current hunter decks because there just isn't a spot or time when you would generally want to shot their minions and not just kill them. Its not a beast, it doesn't have deathrattle, it just doesn't have the synergy to fill a spot atm. Anyone crying OP is just tired of hunter.
Hey... new game! Hunterstone!
but to be really good this must be a beast and have deathrattle (summon an huntertaker i.e.)
Out of joke...
this card is a good one, but hope that even other class can have good cards also ;)
STOP HUNTER CARDS! I AM GETTING SICK OF THEM DO YOU WANT TO RUIN HEARTHSTONE? No more power to huntards!
yeah..... OP OP
what will happen if i play warlock and use faceless to copy this minion ?
You'll spend 5 mana for a 2/3 vanila minion. GG.
Maybe we will see ppl running double houndmaster with turtles to protect this guy would be a nice to see a midrange control hunter
this is great. i think we'll see hunter settle down a little and become a more mid - late "respectable" class.
Control hunter confirmed.
Yeah....turned out to be preeeetty great
Then you get a 2/3 body.
