Heeeeeell no. The most powerful decks in the age of Primordial Drake were decks like Pirate Warrior and Token Shaman, they were much more aggressive than any deck that sees play today. Primordial Drake saw some play because it was okay against those decks (it basically closed out the game for you if you actually managed to survive to turn 8, which was far from guaranteed, Pirate Warrior could kill you as early as turn 4 or 5 if they highrolled well enough), and it was never really combined with Equality. It's not that the combo wasn't any good, it was, but Journey to Un'goro and a few expansions surrounding it were a low point for Control Paladin, the only good Paladin decks were Murloc Paladin and "Dude" (aka Silver Hand) Paladin which obviously ran neither Primordial Drake nor Equality.
many paladin decks used primordial with equality as an addition of pyro and consacration, the paladin deck was very control at the time (you can look at his old decks for yourself) I'm not saying the card was op given the 8 mana price, but it was definitely more useful than this trash revealed today that doesn't even taunt ... (and to think that today the power level is incredibly high compared to the time ) so, pure trash
So , what use should it be when you have much more efficient means of both taking care of yourself and cleaning the board !? (filler card)
Brass Wang is more like it. Whole lotta forehead bruises incoming with this one *thwack*
Seeing a dragon with 9/7 stats is stressing me out.
Unless it's even, I can't.
Tent Trasher
How is immediate damage better then something that still happens on the turn you play it and every turn after. Its not like they can fireball or polymorph during your turn. The effect is pretty much guaranteed to happen at least once. So this minions has +5 attack/-1 HP a persistent concentrate and CAN heal you, even though I don’t think that is gonna happen often. I understand the meta is different but this card is obviously better then the 4/8 taunt dragon for a couple years ago.
if it has interaction and it is with n zoth, the pala just lacked a good dragon for that deck
If only this thing came out when they sorta tried to make Dragon Pally a thing that existed
Nice stats!
Don't see those every day.
But... if all you do on turn 8 is drop some stats and play consecration, it might not be good enough. However... if you're already equipped with the immovable object... maybe it's good. It will require an answer the turn after, for sure.
in a hand buff, you will never play an 8 mana 9/7 that does absolutely nothing ... (this is one of the worst cards seen so far) no interaction ... (this is the reason why a dragon-buff Pala never worked, it makes no sense to buff 8+ mana dragons that already have huge stats and no decent effect ... (better discount them than buff them)
It's not only consecration, every minion with 2hp killed by that will heal you for 4 too.
in a minion-free meta, I suppose it will work great ..... LOL (this card is useless) trash filler...
paladin has better synergies for both board cleaning and healing, this card has no synergy with the class, there is nothing else to discuss here (if it had a synergy with minions killed at 1 health maybe we could discuss it)
I guess there aren't that many minion based decks, it's not like quest warrior, aggro druid or secret libram paladin were the tier 1 decks... oh no wait they are :v
Today in this game doing 2 damage to all enemies for 8 mana is something extremely ridiculous, a single 9/7 body for that cost is irrelevant and is destroyed with a ridiculous mana cost... (focus on this)
Futhermore, there is no interaction for paladin with this in standard. So, playing this card is like relying on chance, hoping to encounter minions with 2 health at 8 mana, 3 minions health already makes this card useless (and this will almost always happen at 8 mana) , this card is unacceptable in a meta with such a high power level...
What am I supposed to destroy on turn 8 with this!?!?!?! exactly, Nothing ...! (ye,reflecting on this I can confirm in a meta otk this sucks even more than usual .... )
PS: If you hold this for turn 8 an aggro deck has already destroyed you long ago, plus any buff would take their minions out of range from this junk, so trust me, this card will never see play (maybe in some meme deck with n'zoth, but it will not go beyond that ...)
Because this is in and of itself useless in all other types of deck. Maybe with the immovable object you're sturdy enough that this can get going, but for other situations it costs too much and does too little.
Very nice to have in the N'zoth pool
jeez man, that's what I mean by powercreep. the game became so fast, for a 8 or 9 mana card to be played they need to be ridiculously powerful. I dont find this approach healthy to the game.. imagine the old days, cards like this couldnt even exist. this card single handedly destroys any wide-board oriented deck
Unless the minions on board have 3 HP, then this card does jack shit and you die.
This isn't even that much powercreep compared to older cards and it's probably not powerful enough to even see play.
Remember the 4/8 dragon taunt that did 2 damage to all minions?
That one had taunt, was neutral, and did do that damage immediately though. Immediate damage is definitely better than "At the end of your turn".
