Balance Changes Coming Next Thursday July 15th
Blizzard is planning some balance changes for next week, specifically to Priest and Druid. We should learn about these changes next Wednesday with some patch notes and should see them go live the next day.
We're expecting to have patch notes up for these changes on Wednesday. https://t.co/G9Q2agk7DD

I'm ok with them nerfing Apotheosis as long as they also nerf some of the aggro decks.
Never going to happen lol. They love aggro decks, they have to keep the games short otherwise the aggro players will cry and they will have to nerf control
Some wish that they nerf apotheosis... Only reliable reason for a comment is that the ones rooting for it are aggro-players.
Sad truth is, that in todays hearthstone not even priest can keep up with aggression with all more neutral healing tools. Samuro + apotheosis in basically must keep against all aggrodecks.
On the other hand I can see Renew getting nerfed. The value is already way too much for one mana. I think reasonable change would be changing the "discover a spell" into a more unreliable "add random priest spell to your hand". I know, random could be rough bite to chew and adds more salty into matches, but I feel it as reliable change without completely changing how the card functions.
Other card that should get nerfed... I honestly don't know. Renew is pretty much only card that can be actually problematic (to all players, not just aggro-variants)
Ooh no, priest is tier 3 in diamond to legend, better nerf it lmao. The only control deck playable.
8 maybe 9 of 10 classes have to play agressive decks to have a chance in the meta, 1, JUST ONE, class can play defensively and control and what they thinking should chance? The only class able to play control... >.<
Really?
It is about time this "generated by" meta. This has to go forever.
My hope is that priest will be able to go in a more aggressive direction if the new shadowform Benedictus legendary gets support in the shape of shadow spells and aggressively statted minions for priest.
That, or shadowform C'thun will be a viable deck, seeing as "start of game" effects do not prevent each other, so even though C'thun pieces arent shadow spells, you can still use him and get the shadowform from Bishop.
I completely see why Druid and Priest are annoying to play against and, as a mostly priest player, I can imagine it's very tiltling to see "generated by" into win condition every single game. The problem is that priest has no alternatives to playing control, and even then, it has no win condition outside of N'Zoth. It has no access to card draw, so card generation is the only tool available.
The "burst healing" that's referred to in the tweet is the only way that priest ever survives past about turn 5, and (with the exception of Samuro) can be played around by removing minions from the board. Samuro/apotheosis is a turn 6 or 7 play that you can sort of anticipate by not going wide on the board.
Sadly my guess is they'll nerf apotheosis and I think that will kill the class.
It's wierd to me that they're picking on Priest as they're not really in a great spot at the moment. Decks like Elemental Shaman have near endless resource and huge burst potential and that's OK apparently. DH has the stickiest boards and an 8 mana charge/windfury-like minion for huge burst - but that's OK too. Warlock can delete your deck - also OK. These decks also have far more consistency than priest as they have good card draw as well.
As for druid - they keep printing mana ramp and swarm spells which are massivley OP when you draw the nutz. Maybe Blizz should think about the cards they print and not just keep adding new, high-rolly cards to archetypes which are already problematic. Cellestial druid is the perfect example of this - it's either pish or you basically watch them cycle their deck and summon a huge board of minions for no mana.
And don't get me started on no-minion mage - discover mechanics, immense card draw, burst damage, mana cheating, unavoidable face damage and (rather ironically) lots of minions - but that's fine too...
Although I don't play Priest at all, I completely agree with you. I really don't understand the hate with Priest. Yeah I get a little annoyed when I'm against a Priest because I play control so I know the game will be especially grindy and long but still. If Blizzard only promotes aggro bullshit decks (I especially hate Spell Mage because of how unavoidable the damage is) then the game will lose in quality.
they are killing the class and is the only class i play and love....
I see no point in fixing Druid or Priest atm, they are fine.
It will be a change for the new expansion.
I'll concede to the point that it's ridiculous that priest can make a game go on for nearly 25 minutes almost every single time due to their value generation and healing, but the REAL problem is that even though the games can take 25+ minutes, they're still only dragging these games out to lose the vast majority of them, because despite all that value and healing, they STILL don't have an actual win condition.
Give priest a way to actually close games out and THEN maybe nerf the value.
Well said!
Anyone think it's ridiculous that in standard rogue, can simply kill you in a couple of turns while they're unable to be hit, when they're close to death? Just me?
Are they even referring to standard? I feel that these two guys are more in need of buffs than nerfs XD
They need buffs that will promote new archetypes for them. Priest is just boring and annoying to play and play against and doesn't even have a decent win ratio despite how long it takes for games to end. Druid can steamroll you off a solid mulligan and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
Couldn't agree more! The only nerf I could think of would be for one of the key token cards and then otherwise buffs for taunt druid and maybe shadow or silence priest (anything that isn't generation focused really)
shaman best deck by far according to hsreplay stats, is absolutely obnoxious to play against and 50% of ladder is shaman only - what does blizzard do? nerf priest. LMAO
Shaman might be too good right now, but playing against shaman at least feels like playing a game.
Priest tries to win by boring you to death and loses anyway on turn 20. Druid is just a coin flip of whether they get a mulligan that will steamroll you within six turns.
Those decks don't just need buffs, they need support for new archetypes.
