This is my support legendary to shadow priest on standard? Not really
Is this supposed to be the shadow priest legendary? Since they seemed so excited about shadow form coming back...
I imagine there might be one or two more direct face damage cards in priest (though they probably won't have anything to do with Shadow Form). But I think Shadow Form coming back (with a buff) was what made them excited about Shadow Form coming back. Especially with Thrive in the Shadows as a tutor for it.
shadowform was nerfed, not buffed. The initial mana cost didn't matter nearly as much as the effect being able to stack. Stacking it to 3 damage made it playable, now the second shadowform will just be 2 mana do nothing.
...what? That's... not true at all. The card costing less and getting the 2 power hero power online a turn earlier for less mana is a much bigger power boost than spending 6 mana doing nothing for a 3 damage hero power.
It wasn’t “6 mana do nothing”... getting it a turn earlier only matters if you are a pure aggro priest but shadow form was never pure aggro, it’s tempo. Having the extra damage boost allowed for more powerful board swings and a lot of extra damage over time. Now shadowform currently reads: “at some point in the game, one of your draws will be useless”. Paying one less mana is not worth wasting a draw.
How is it not 6 mana do nothing? You have to spend 2 instances of 3 mana to get Mind Shatter. It doesn't do anything other than change your hero power. The extra mana cost is absolutely relevant. ESPECIALLY in regards to tempo. Being able to ping something on turn 3 instead of turn 4 can be the difference between losing to a zoo deck and not losing to a zoo deck.
Generally speaking, skipping your turn 2 is mostly pretty acceptable. Skipping your turn 3 is a big deal.
And like... the lack of Shadow Form stacking is really annoying, but is not actually that relevant. I really can't even fathom why you don't think costing 2 mana over 3 is a SIGNIFICANT buff. That's 50% cheaper.
Um, not really sure what to make of this one. It's a very cost-efficient tool for Priest to deal with a big minion threat. It does kind of imply a tempo deck as it allows you to make efficient trades with bigger threats. But I think Rally is an almost mandatory card in any Priest tempo deck these days, which this has very poor synergy with.
Based on wording, it will seemingly stop as soon as EITHER attack or health exceeds any of the opponent, so using it on a 3 attack 11 health minion will only trigger twice, sadly.
Moreover, if you use it on a minion with equal attack or health, you will trigger once more if used on a minion with an UNEVEN amount of attack and health.
Targets:
1/1 = triggers once (1)
2/2 = triggers once (1)
3/3 = triggers twice (2)
4/4 = triggers twice (2)
5/5 = triggers thrice (3)
6/6 = triggers thrice (3)
7/7 = triggers quadrice (4)
8/8 = triggers quadrice (4)
9/9 = triggers pentice (5)
etc.
are you sure? in the video it shows a 4/8, and the legendary priest card becomes a 3/5 while the other one becomes a 2/4, so it seems to me that it has both more attack and health, not only one of the two
Or you could watch the video and see that you're wrong. It steals Attack until it has more attack. It steals Health until it has more Health.
When you use this against a 4/8 it will steal 2 Attack (now has 3, more than other minion's 2) and it will steal 4 Health (now has 5, more than opponent's 4). End result, this is a 3/5 and enemy minion is a 2/4.
poretty sure it is likethis
1/1 = triggers once (1)
2/2 = triggers twice(1)
3/3 = triggers twice (2)
4/4 = triggers thrice (2)
5/5 = triggers thrice (3)
6/6 = triggers quadrice (3)
7/7 = triggers quadrice (4)
8/8 = triggers pentice (4)
9/9 = triggers pentice (5)
etc.
because it says 'more attack and health' vs. 'equal attack and health'.
From the video shown, it is BOTH. See that 4/8 become 2/4 and 1/1 become 3/5. You can simply calculate by adding the total ATK/Health for both cards together, 6 will split into 2/4, 7 into 3/4.
Playing it on minions with uneven stats will always make it steal more!
Argent Braggart kinda, except it steals its increases and takes from 1 minion only and you wouldn't want to use this on your own minions. So kinda not like Braggert at all, actually. :P
So this kills 1 health minions and gain +1/+1, right?
I feel like on a 3/1 it would give it 2/1 based on the reveal video
In reveal video health and attack works separately. So it should have gain 2 attack for a 3/1.
I'm hoping it does it independently like if they had a magma rager with 5/1, this becomes a 4/2 and kills it. A 2/2 deal 1 just seems super weak for a legendary.
really flexible. Weaken your opponents early game minion while getting a good one yourself or get a big low cost minion that is semi hard removal later on
