Patch 17.4.1 - Twin Slice Nerf - Battlegrounds Balance Changes
In a surprise move Blizzard sent some patch notes out today for a Patch launching tomorrow, June 18th. It includes several Battlegrounds Balance changes as well as a notable change to Twin Slice in the normal game. It will now cost 1 Mana for both charges, but increase attack by 2 instead of 1!

Second Slice
- Old: [Cost 0] Give your hero +1 Attack this turn. → New: [Cost 1] Give your hero +2 Attack this turn.
Golden Twin Slice will be eligible for a full dust refund for two weeks after the 17.4.1 patch goes live.

Battlegrounds Bug Fixes
- Fixed two separate issues that caused the Hero Powers for Lady Vashj and Maiev Shadowsong to trigger unintended effects in the shop phase.
- Fixed an issue where the Deathrattle for Sneed's Old Shredder was not summoning newly added Legendary minions.
This is a good nerf, since 0mana spells are problematic.
The real problem though is Skull, from the start. Empty hand into 6 cards into lethal through a taunt for 20+ HP should not exist.

Just throw away the whole class. All these nerfs are embarrassing 🤦♂️.

I love how nerfed DH cards ended up better than other classes cards (heroic strike in this case).
Never play an OTK deck unless you are fully aware that it will be nerfed, usually earlier than later. Blizzard has made it clear several times before that they are not a fan of that playstyle, and often OTK are combos they did not anticipate. Pulling your sweet combo might feel nice for you, but for the other player that has no way of countering an OTK other than hoping you haven't drawn all your pieces yet it's a frustrating waste of time.
Its not even OTK, its just broken and in ever DH deck. Skull is still the big nerf needed.
I'm loving the change to Jaraxxus and Malificent hero powers. Additional buffs to demons and especially mechs are always welcomed.
Hooktusk dodged all these nerfs? I'm quite happy with the rest though, looking forward to try out Jaraxxus.
Moving Saurolisk to t2 is a slight nerf to hooktusk- staying at t1 for longer to farm selfless heroes and mecharoos doesn’t scale if you don’t have saurolisks.
The problem with Hooktusk is that her hero power sometimes just creates power and extra gold out of nowhere through token producers and the swabby, meaning that she can tavern up faster than every other hero without sacrificing any power to do so.
I have legit had games where on the 9 gold turn, hooktusk went to tavern 5 and was still undefeated, carried SOLELY by ridiculously broken hero power.
A big buff that nerf for Odd Demon Hunter
