The problem is that Murlocs are a recurring theme in Paladin...
Murlocs. Consume. All. MURRRRRUUUULLLLLLLRRRRG!
Pally Forge anyone? I know I am enjoying it right now, mech style. Now I just need to replace one more card :).
In my ideal world murlocs would be entirely hall of famed... And instead... Sooo sad.
they showed so much promise with the librams... and then they printed fucking murlocs for legendary. Why couldn't you just print Maraad? like it would be very fitting to the outland theme as well
I'm so disappointed that Paladin's Prime card is à Murloc...
And it looks weaker than the other Prime
It may not look that way, but two-drop with good stats and added late-game value will definitely see more play than most Primes imho.
Murloc Paladin won’t see any play in the next expansion, mark my words. For many expansions each Paladin card itself was OK but you couldn’t make any decent deck with them.
And also it’s funny how one pushed archetype is control with spells and taunts and another one is stupid murloc deck...
Or you can put this card in your control paladin deck and summon 5 minions with divine shield for 8 mana. If you can't see how strong that is, I'll show you in about two weeks :D
Also, play this in a Highlander deck and follow up with Zephrys. See what happens!
This + Making Mummies ?
Making Murlocs
I mean 2 mana 2/1 divine shield isn't that far away from 2 mana 2/2 divine shield.... and the prime is just really good temp. My only concern are decks that highroll this little guy from "random murloc" generation devices
This looks like battlegrounds now
Even though I hate it for being another murloc that is also not a lore character, this card is very good on its own. The deck doesn't have to be a murloc deck. You can throw it in any paladin deck, especially if buffs become a thing, since divine shields go well with buffs.
Also it has been confirmed that he can summon himself with his prime form.
Felt the same way but I don't think there are any named murlocs from TBC but could be misremembering that.
This will be in EVERY single paladin deck. Great value, very good tempo
Strong card
a 2 mana 2/2 is not 'great' tempo, and if you're playing for tempo then you likely won't have the board space to play the prime version, and if you do, then as a tempo deck you're likely already dead. Murlocs don't have taunt so it won't protect you from lethal, and murloc decks want to win by turn 5 or 6 so this won't see play in most murloc decks either. This feels more like a card made specifically for that Tip the Scales deck, but with prismatic lens rotating that deck is dead.
It's a card with a lot of potential but I'd argue it will barely see play in ANY paladin deck without more support than it's got.
8 mana murloc
new archetype: late game aggro
Would've like another Libram-related legendary instead...
Sorry, but WTF is happening to Paladin for the last couple expansions ? Every new set includes 2-3 New Archetypes EVERY GODDAMN EXPANSION. They are reworking Priest cause of class identity entirely while you can play Mech-Reborn-Murloc-Healdragon Paladin.
I used to like Paladin but that is just complete bullshit. Sorry for the rant.
