16.0.8 Balance Update - Coming This Week! Including Battlegrounds & Arena Changes
Balance changes are coming, including to Arena and Battlegrounds. Read all about it below:
Quote from BlizzardWelcome to a new year in the tavern, everyone! We have a balance update in the works that will go live later this week which includes the following changes, primarily for Standard and Battlegrounds:
Warlock
Fiendish Rites : Mana cost increased from (3) to (4).
Warrior
Scion of Ruin : Mana cost increased from (3) to (4) .
Ancharrr : Durability reduced from (3) to (2) .
Shaman
Dragon's Pack : Now reads, “…If you’ve Invoked twice, give them +2/+2 .” (reduced from +3/+3).
Invocation of Frost : Mana cost increased from (1) to (2).
Rogue
Necrium Apothecary : Mana cost increased from (4) to (5).
Neutral
Dragonqueen Alexstrasza: Battlecry effect can no longer generate Dragonqueen Alexstrasza.
*Once the update is live, adjusted cards will be eligible for a full Arcane Dust refund for two weeks.
Battlegrounds
This update includes several adjustments and gets more Heroes brawling in Bob’s Tavern than ever before! Further Battlegrounds balance changes are coming very soon, in addition to the exciting new content we have in the pipeline… we’ll have more to share in the near future!
Heroes
Shudderwock
Burbling: Cost reduced from (2) to (1) .
Queen Wagtoggle
Wax Warband : Give a random friendly Mech, Demon, Murloc and Beast +2 Attack . (instead of +1 Health)
Infinite Toki
Temporal Tavern : Cost reduced from (2) to (1) . Now reads, “Refresh Bob’s Tavern. Include a Minion from a higher Tavern Tier.”
Patches the Pirate
Has returned to the Battlegrounds Hero Pool.
Fire the Cannons! : At the start of next combat, deal 4 damage to two random enemy minions. (increased from 3 damage)
Pyramad
Has returned to the Battlegrounds Hero Pool.
Brick by Brick : Give a random friendly minion +3 Health . (increased from +2 Health)
Minions
Golden Soul Juggler
After a friendly Demon dies, deal 3 damage to a random enemy minion twice . (instead of 6 damage once)
Bug Fixes and Game Improvements
Battlegrounds : Selfless Hero’s Deathrattle will now only affect minions that do not already have Divine Shield.
Arena : The appearance rate of cards in the draft has been updated to ensure class balance remains close to the ideal 50% win-rate. Specifically, the win-rate of Druid, Hunter, and Paladin should now be decreased. The win-rate of Priest, Rogue, Shaman and Warlock should now be increased. Card appearance rates for Mage and Warrior remain untouched.

They announced a nerf to death rattle rogue on sunday. (or rather that they 'considered' it)
Sucks for you, but I held off on crafting cards for any meta deck. Btw I'm sure the deck will still be viable.
Well I haven't been paying attention and that's my fault. But I agree, that one change won't kill the deck. Maybe a couple backstabs in the deck will help
Pretty great patch! Not sure where that Fiendish Rites nerf came from, but we'd be lying to ourselves if we said it wasn't powerful.
Also, that Alexstraza nerf is pretty great. It's a significant hit to her power. More nerfs like this need to happen!

Exactly! If they can just make Fate Weaver reduce cost of cards in hand by (2) or a simpler one like Breath of the Infinite deal 3 damage, that will be a better experience for priest.
Skybarge isn't even played in Wild Pirate Warrior. It's a worse Ship's Cannon.
Not sure about the Shaman nerfs. Maybe they should bump Hex to 5 mana just to be sure

Can they please fucking fix the retarded Battlegrounds match-making? It's honestly infuriating to get matched against the same guy that's obliterating you every other game while there are other 6 guys still in the game.
Just played a game where I was Sindragosa and there was this rafaam that brought me from 37 health all the way down to 3 cause I kept facing him every other turn in the spam of like 7 turns and he had an absolutely disgusting build with golden soul juggler and and extra soul juggler. I was beating every other opponent but this dude kept destroying me easily. I ended winning vs him at the end but only cause I got a brann mid-game and then got 2 Bargugle and the last tavern I got 1 megasaur and got divine + windfury.
But it's still absolutely infuriating that you can keep getting the exact same guy every other game, regardless of them beating you or you beating them, it definitely will be a shitty experience to have a good build that can reach late game only to see it fucked because you keep getting this one strong person while you're beating the rest no problem. And no, this is not specifically bias cause it just happened to me, this is not that uncommon of an occurance and it doesn't matter if you are on the giving or the receiving end, it'll be a shitty experience for one of the players, it's absurd that they haven't fixed this bs already.
I like it when they make these kinds of changes. You don’t see nerfing stats or effects very often, and that’s sometimes what cards need more than cost increases. Dragonqueen Alexstrasza’s change is pretty damn elegant.
I have the dragonqueen Alex. Should I craft one gold? Then blizzard gonna give me back 3600 dust after nerfs?

After the nerfs, you will only get the bonus dust if you destroy your card. You will not simply receive the dust for having it in your inventory.
If cards are Hall of Fame'd, THEN you get the dust, even if you don't destroy the card.

You only get the dust refund if you disenchant it. So there is no net gain to craft one now if you are just going to disenchant it. But if you opened any of these cards in a pack, you can benefit from disenchanting them for full value.
Ok. I got the gold ancharr by packs. So now I disenchant it and wait for nerfs?

NO, wait until the nerfs are live. If you dust it now, you get 400d. Also to clarify about dust profits, you are thinking of when a card is Hall Of Famed (which is different from when it's just nerfed). Nothing is gained by crafting any of the soon to be nerfed cards. When a card is HoF'ed though it DOES make sense to craft cards in gold because you get the dust AND you get to keep the card.
Whatever happened to Reno? Must be one hell of a visual bug.
