Balance Changes Coming - More Details Next Week
Blizzard, through Dean Ayala, a.k.a. IskarHS, tweeted out upcoming balance changes that they will share more information about next week. Read about it below where we quoted the tweet he sent.
Quote from BlizzardPlanning another balance patch. Will share some more information next week as we solidify.
Some of the Galakrond decks are just a touch more powerful than they need to be to be successful.
Also contemplating light changes to non-Galakrond archetypes like Pirate War and DR Rogue.
Because I shouldn’t get pounded by 10 attack Stonetusk Boars and 15 attack Leroy Jenkins on turn 7.
10 attack? You are been generous i got hit by 18 damage to a deckhand lol ...
i'm just hoping it will finally change 'something' around. the last one did nothing at all
sounds weird but i'd rather prefer their old style of completely trashing cards into oblivion... at least that definitely changed stuff around
I think a more frequent patch schedule is healthy for the game but if it is Blizzard's intention going forward to do this more often they should be clear about it so people can adjust how and when they craft cards. Alternatively, Blizzard could (not saying should) allow players to dust for full value any cards crafted say 2 weeks before a patch dropping. This mitigates situations where an expensive craft is made "less good" by a sideways nerf from a patch.
Or they need to give away more free packs so f2p people won't get stuck being able to craft only 4-5 decks per expansion.
Would be nice if they bumped Galakrond's cost to 8 and buffed Priest's Galakrond invoke effect cuz it's laughable right now. Something like "Add random priest minion to your hand. It costs (1) less" would be really apprecaited.
One deck on standard gets mildly better than the others and is a stample in the format:
Players: "OMFG this deck is pure CANCER! Nerf it to the ground, it's op since it does broken stuff on turn 8/9!"
Blizzard: *makes patch*
Players: "Ok, Shaman is dead now deal with this deck! Because you nerfed this deck now these are OP!"
Blizzard: *makes patch again*
Wild drowning in secret mages, pirate warriors and hand buff paladin while the "oppressive" level of standard decks are "meme" level in that format: What a bloody kindergarten.
Dude, you're playing wild. What in the actual fuck did you expect?
I expect the standard players to be more mature rather than moaning for nerfs every expac. Wild gets only one card changed per year on average and we're fine with our meta. Standard players needs entire patch around cards and they still complain and get it just because it is the Blizzard "main" gamemode.
Learn how to counter your damn meta and not wait for Blizzard to counter the deck with nerfs for you
Also...another balance patch so soon? "Light changes"? Who are these people?
What about the Galakrond that's just a touch less powerful than it needs to be to be successful?
Inb4 people cry about this nerf and blame Priest as they usually do in every nerf patch lmao
That DR Rogue nerf can't come soon enough
If I don't draw my silences early on, it's GG before turn 8-9 lol
Dr Rogue is extremely high variance (draw apothecary soon = win, otherise = lose), and it dies to any hyper aggro even if you do get to draw Apothecary by turn 4 (since nearly all other cards in your deck are practically a mediocre arena deck).
That doesn't mean the deck shouldn't get nerfed. High variance decks which nearly auto-win or nearly auto-lose depending on how soon you draw a card aren't particularly fun to play against, and aren't particularly healthy for the game, regardless of win-rate.
I 100% agree with you, my point wasn't is shouldn't get nerfed, and in any way, shifting the met ina way that makes you either play a certain way (hyper aggro) or lose most of the times means something is broken. It's just I think my games right now are about 75% warrior and barely any Rogue (I'm only barely at single digit rank, though, so my sample size is very small and may point to a very wrong comclusion).
