Are these nerfs enough to get Gala shaman in the line with other popular decks?
Definitely not, but enought to don't be only deck in game. (Winrate went from 60% to 54%.)
Those are the most ridiculous nerfs blizzard ever did. The four powercards in Galakrond shaman are dragons pack, Galakrond, Kronx and Shudderwock. I garanty you that those nerfs didn't fix the problem. Turn 5 drgons pack, turn 7 gala, turn 8 kronx, turn 9 shudderwock is still unbeatable by almost every deck, and the mirror is still decided by who draws galakrond first. Sludge slurper was perfectly fine, you might even consider running the rat instead now (thats sad), corruptor was the only fine nerf here, cause it was pretty strong, mogu is like whatever man just run sea giant, and corrupt elementalist doesn't really slow down the game plan of the deck. I would have nerfed dragons pack to summon 4/5 instead, and galakrond to be 8 or 9 mana, which would give more time for decks to find solutions to the 2 8/8 and shudderwock full board follow up. Blizzard just looked at the stats, saw shaman with like 50% popularity in rank 1, and panicked, nerfing the first 4 cards they found in the deck. Winrate when drawn doesn't mean everything guys! Gotta look at the bigger picture.
Agree two 5/6 is way too hard to deal with especially with the lack of counters. Hearthstone learnt off of Yugioh well!
you see, if they nerf galak and the 5/6's then you wont have reason to buy new packs u silly, they nerf the old cards so they can make more money, disgusting :)
I think they nerfed him based on Quest Galakrond Shaman, which is playable and had about 54% winrate (normal tier 1 deck), so they thought slow they early game would be enought to put him on the same power lvl. It helped (still dominate, but at least now exist direct counterdecks), but i think he still shape the meta little bit to much.
What a bullshit dude...the nerfed cards also include 2 rare new cards and galak
rond is free for all in all classes and I dont think that someone buy packs just for 2 5/6 minions for 5 mana
it seems a good time to craft for galakrond shaman. Seems it will stay for a bit.
These nerf do nothing to the deck. Gratz blizz
Good dust, bad nerfs.
meta shakeup?!?!?
yeah, no idea in what parallel universe you live in
these changes did close to nothing at all
hey they did something, i got like 500-600 free dust hehe
No it's not. A decent deck that is able to win games is not necessarily a cancer deck. Overload shaman has counters
You ask if they even play the game, but you obviously don't. If you did, you would know they don't get 4 8/8s with rush for 7 mana. If they are playing the lower winrate deck that they have to be to even get 4 8/8s from the battlecry, it doesn't cost 7. Unless math has changed since I was in school and 2 + 7 now equals 7....
Well clearly you don't play this game, otherwise you would of realized that Galk baby is a battlecry in a shaman deck. What he wasn't clear on is the combination but you should of rub those two brain cells and you should of easily worked this out IF you played the game.
Hearth of Vanir -> Galk, is 4 8/8 rushes for 7 mana but requires 8 or 9 mana to set up depending on the turn order.
... i'll rest my case.
Really? implying that overload shaman isnt also cancer? lolk
How are people still unable to understand that quest galashaman is trash compared to the non-quest version?
When a 7 mana card (that you can’t play for 6 turns) is the highest win rate opening hand card *cough* Dr Boom Mad Genius, Shaman Galakrond *cough*... that’s a problem.
Changing cards too much would make them less recognizable for returning players. I like the simple stats changes as long as they're still viable. For example making Sludge Slurper 2 mana would make the card trash. As a 1/1 for 1 it's still pretty good. Slight nerfs are perfect for the game because they can have a huge influence in winrate (-4% winrate is a huge difference!) All these cards were commonely played and will still be commonly played in Shaman decks. The winrate will just be a bit more fair. Opponents will be more likely to survive long enough to beat them.
Nerfs are useless, but I love 2600 dust, for nerfed cards :D
