New Card Revealed - Swampqueen Hagatha
A new shaman legendary has been revealed.
Upon playing this card, you will receive two discover interfaces containing Shaman spells. Choose one from each selection and then when you play the generated minion that was added to your hand, it will also play those spells! You get to choose the targets for the cast spells.
I think the idea is for the following expansions to add more villains, so we'll probably get those new ones as Legendaries.
You may be right but I dont think that hagatha or boom would appear again in the year of dragon. If they reprint which I hope/think they do, We might get some villans from some other classes. If not villans, they might create some heros, not hero card but a reprinted version of previous cards like Medivh/Rhonin for Mage or Tyrion for Palladin, who would help us fight aginst the villans.. just a thought..
Honestly, I think we aren't going to see the 5 current main villains as cards again after this expansion. What I think will happen is that characters will join the fight on either side, much like how the lackeys are going to working (obviously not like a mechanic though). As for if we've seen characters before like Reno Jackson joining the fray it is a possibility and I really can't say, but if they keep to mostly characters that have been sent to wild I think it can work very well and really add to the story of HS and maybe give it some structure that is usually just kinda all over the place normally.
I find it interesting how reusing characters bothers people in HS. Any other (type of) game is welcome to; it just gets called character development. Why is HS different?
The thing with characters in HS and card games more widely, is they tell a story within an expansion (or maybe over multiple expansions), but the decks themselves almost never care about that. Are people actually going to feel weird playing 2 Hagathas in a deck? No, because they weren't playing Hagatha with any sort of story in mind to begin with.
Now, if you take a role-playing approach to deck building as I have done a few times before then sure, having multiple Hagathas might be a bit awkward. But the sorts of people who want to build a story into a deck are more often than not the sorts of people who love the idea of characters being developed over time.
Hmm I think all the villain Legendaries will cost 7 Mana , Rafaam cost 7 Mana now Hagatha too ..
well, guess we have to wait for Togwaggle since Boom is most certainly going to cost 7
This looks strong and I want to love this. But I currently cannot think of a turn where I spend 7 mana for a 5/5 without immediate board impact. Many games will be lost on point if this is the only viable play.
I mean shudderwock used to do this all the time with Grumble, Worldshaker at 6 mana. And while that is enabling one of the strongest combos in the game I think Shaman can find some time to play this card.
No, i just thought it was "to ur shaman spells" instead of " two shaman spells". So i imagine the synergy with the heroin hagatha.
woho!
as a main shaman player. im gonna get this day one. looks super fun!
If your main is shaman - better craft it golden!
I remember a time when a 7-mana 5/5 had to be nerfed (twice) because it drew you 2 cards or healed for 8 without granting tempo whatsoever.
This generates potentially more powerful ressources that can save your ass or just help you along with the game.
It's basically like Malacrass in Mage: Extra ressources, but there needs to be a deck that actually values those for it to see play. Here's hoping for Control Shaman
Well played Sir. :)
So now you can play Swampqueen Hagatha... as Hagatha the Witch. Two Hagathas, and you witness one play the other.
Same thing with Dr. Boom.
How about Medivh? ^^
Medivh is accustomed to such things.
I really hope they'll make a specific entrance for this situation
Keep in mind that, as shown in the video, you'll still overload your Mana Crystals if you choose those specific spells
I honestly don't get why they keep enforcing Overload so much. Like why do we need to overload even when we're not technically casting the spells
I suspect it's mechanical. They might feel iffy about writing in a special exception for overload spells, since overload is part of the spell's effect.
