Weird that Zul'jin is a Hunter, I thought he was a Warrior canonically. This is kind of the epitome of this sets "uninspired" design, it seems. I'm excited for like four cards, and this is not one of them.
I mean, woohoo, pre-nerf Yogg Hunter? Did anyone want that?
It's actually less fun than Yogg. The most powerful thing I can imagine with this is developing 4-5 secrets and getting a board full of random Animal Companions and 3/3 wolves, but I can imagine this card just being bad in Spell Hunter because the hero power is so much worse in the late game than DK Rexxar's, and it requires some pretty good spells to dedicate a whole turn to.
Idk, Blizzard.
I mean..if spell hunter could run pre-nerf yogg it most certainly would.
just play this before rexxar.... or play rexxar before and then use zuljin as a finisher..... c'mon man think outside the box.
The point I meant to get at is that Blizzard has lately been very heavy on telling the player what decks they should be playing. You could make the argument that they've always done that, but I would argue that even with Reno Jackson, they left the deck design heavily up to the players. I love Hero cards, but only when done right. Dr. Boom, Valeera, and Malfurion are ones I'd say were done right; they're powerful cards, AND leave the player with a lot of choice in their deck building. Gul'dan and Jaina are close behind, because the demons and elementals don't necessarily make or break them, but what deck runs them and not a single demon/elemental? Zul'jin isn't asking for an occasional tribal or card type to make it work a little better, it's asking for you to design your deck to maximize just the one card--because paying 10 mana and not drastically changing the advantage of the game on the spot isn't worth it, especially with a dinky hero power. I've asked for Hunter to get that hero power for a long time, but not at an initial 10-mana investment.
TL;DR: Basically, I don't see Zul'jin being in a deck that doesn't just jam secrets, spells that hurt specifically the opponent's board, and spells that make minions. I don't see any creativity in this card, in terms of deck building opportunities, or in behind-the-scenes card design.
@enriqxxxx I mean, I thought of that, but that kinda sucks, doesn't it? This card demands the game to be decided on the spot, otherwise you just kinda wasted a turn.
Call of the wild at 8 mana was insane. This card for 2 more mana summons 6 animal companions this is counting 2 by my sides and 2 animal companions right? now lets say you play 1 or 2 deadly shots maybe even the 7 mana spell that wills the outer minions all of which spell hunter runs but you most say well what are the odds of playing all those cards before you play zuljin well you do because you play rexxar and use this as a finisher 5 secrets to save you just in case you die , hoffers with leoks to finish the gamee 3 hoffers with one leok is 15 damage which is super possible or 2 leoks two huffers which is 12 damage or by bad luck a board full of 4/4 taunts and spells to clear the way for the huffers. Spell hunter is a tier two deck according to hs replay can you tell me this wont push it to tier 1? what would be the downside besides hitting your self or one of the 6 mininons you just played with a kill comand?
Late game value for Spell and Secret Hunter decks. It's no Deathstalker Rexxar, but this looks like a fun DK.
Control Hunter is Born!
Let's hope it's not in random order, so the boomzooka thing could actually work
Pretty sure these are always random order, just like Tess and Shudderwock.
Reprintstakhan’s rumble.
I thought it would be:
Battlecry: Summon all friendly Beasts that died this game.
HP: Deals 2 damage, gain 2 armor.
0/10 lul

remeber it would replay all secrets . animal companion and in spell hunter by my sides. So you would survive
hero power isn't as good as bloodreaver guldan but guldan is really strong so it's still a fairly good hero power.
The battle cry is interesting, it isn't like shudderwock but feels like it's still pretty good, I think it can still be played as a fairly good finisher
play this first for the battlecry then rexxar for value, maybe,
That's it? The hype for a card that might replace DK rexxar, and we get this? The hero power is barely an upgrade. spending 10 mana to gain 5 armor and a big board effect is not what hunter's want for their decks. I am disappointed, it probably won't be played.
think about double spell stone , double deadly shot , double by my side , double animal companion and 5 secrets... let that sink in... and that would be in spell hunter
WTF is that shit
