That's why you are still rank 20.
Agreed, the mere elemental trigger requirement is crippling to otherwise unwieldly card to begin with. I could see a flash heal late game with frost lich jaina, but at that point you've already won or lost the game. Dunno, maybe their will be some other weird card mage gets that makes this card more coherent.
this is an interesting card. i find the mana difference with duskbreaker ok, since this is a mage card and mage has more ways to interact with the board than priest. i think it is interesting, because it is an elemental synergy card, and up until now, elemental cards are all about having tempo while generating value. this effect is at odds with what these decks wanna do, but i could see it as an one off last hurrah kind of card.
Good point, also Baron Geddon doesn't allow you to summon a Water Elemental since its effect triggers at the end of your turn
That's true. However, a lot of zoo minions are 3 health. Also, buffed paladin plebs and the hunter spellstone minions are less susceptible to geddon. One extra damage for one less mana goes a long way.
I can already hear Kibler laughing....
Yeah... Kind of strange when compared with Duskbreaker. I know that Mage has more boardclears so that may be the reason for the higher mana price but stil...
#power uncreep
Or maybe give to mage elementals decklists the possibility to have boardclears
This can possibly heal you for a gazillion
Great point. Not sure if even this makes it good when Baron Geddon is a card that only sometimes seems play in jaina mage decks.
Having a dragon in hand and having played an elemental last turn are very different conditions. If you set up the first you can activate the effect whenever you want, whereas if you activate the second one it only lasts 1 turn. Might be decent as a discover but I wouldn't expect this to fit in mage decks
The card cost is more expensive because you have more elementals than dragons
at least it's won't be included in odd-mage later
Seems people are forgetting that this card has great synergy with Frost Lich Jaina.
Well, yeah, but not this expansion so, at least this card could see play this just for Jaina until she rotates out on 2019's first expansion
A fair version of Duskbreaker not a bad card and it does clear buffed odd paladin boards but it's not an auto include that's for sure.
In a Book of Specters deck, this is bad when you're ahead but good when you're behind, so it may actually be playable. Since you can draw cards cheaply, you don't need to play every single card you draw, similar to how Even Warlock can afford more tech cards than a typical mid-range deck.
He can't heal you back up.
People saying this is a crappy Duskbreaker are the same people complaining Duskbreaker was overpowered and shouldn't have been in the game. Consider yourselves lucky that Blizzard listened and made the next effect like that much more expensive. If you think it's shitty, don't play it. It's not like Mage needs a ton of help, and there's plenty more cards that could be dragons. Personally, as an elemental mage player, I think it is deceptively powerful and am definitely going to try it out in a minion-heavy deck.
Meh, not useful in a big mage type deck not wanted in a tempo or aggressive style mage.
