Yong Woo Leaves Blizzard - Joins Ben Brode at Second Dinner
Yong Woo, Hearthstone's Production Director, has left the company. He joins Ben Brode and Hamilton Chu at the new Second Dinner game studio.
Another two Hearthstone employees quit in recent time, Michael Schweitzer and Jomaro Kindred, who are also at the studio. There are now five ex-Hearthstone team members working at Second Dinner.
Quote from Yong WooAfter 9 epic years at Blizzard, I am embarking on a new adventure. Thank you for your love and support over the years. I'm super excited to join @seconddinner to build something new & amazing together!
Quote from Second DinnerThe team is growing! Say hi to our newest teammates!

Number 4 is why i said he was very, very naive
and why do you assume that working on HS was BB's dream job? you know him? you talked to him in private about his life goals and such?
what if his dream job is to run his own company and make games based on his own ideas with full control over what he does and working at blizzard was just a mean to get closer to what he really wants to do? and blizz by paying him buttload of money over the long years he spent there allowed him to save enough to do just that?
Better video about the new expansion than the video with Fail9. ^^
that room reeks of medical marijuana and i love it lolol
Jomaro left too? EVERYONE PANIC
No need to panic. ;)
Oh the days of boot strap startups. FeelsGoodMan
"WELL ME--- er....HELLO!"
- Ben Brode
What a shitty chair lol :D
This feels like The HS (ex) devs wanted to save HS but bli$$ard didn‘t want to listen to them and in fact still wanted to get as much cash as possible even if the game would die (and I think they don‘t really think that HS got a future). Sad from Blizzards part but hopefully the first dinner team will get a good job done there
Bruh, it's not Blizzard anymore. Now it's Activision. Activision bought the majority of Blizzard, even if they publicly maintain this fake "partnership" to roam on Blizzard's credibility.
Also, not all mistakes are the fault of the people on top. In the past 2 years the fault were of the devs entirely who didn't test properly and deeply the cards before releasing them.
Second Dinner team 5.
Jomaro left as well? I thought they were building him up to be the next public face of HS since he was also in that Boomsday live action trailer (and he kinda looks like Brode in black).
Really curious what Second Dinner is cooking up, those 5 definitely deserve my attention (Yong Wuu needs to get a bit fatter in order to fit in, though).
Just me or do you think there was some violent fights over at Blizz and these guy left?
I wonder why they left. What the fight was all about. The direction of the game is going?
They probably just want a new challenge, I don't think there's really any drama. Could be wrong though, hearthstone really is getting greedy and bad these days.
We can only guess, my bet is that the company was forcing bad design decisions that profit trough power creep; which is a death sentence to any game eventually and they decided its time to get off the sinking ship.
People jumping sinking ship?
That awkward moment when another guy from the Boomsday announcement trailer is now repping a rival game company LUL
They defied Brode's manic laughter when he was still around. After he had left, they began missing these crazed fits.
Wait, wait... Jomaro Kindred left Blizzard too?
Damn. That's pretty big, honestly. I really liked his art style.
