The Witchwood Cards HCT Pros Are Most Excited About
Blizzard asked some of the players competing in the Hearthstone Championship Tour about which cards they are most excited about from Witchwood. Here are their answers!
Quote from Kevin HovdestadThe Witchwood is upon us, coming right alongside the commencement of a new Hearthstone Year. At this moment of great upheaval, we polled some of your favorite competitive Hearthstone players about their favorite cards from the new set. Some of their answers may surprise you!
hunterace – Glinda Crowskin
Always eager for new tools to set up combo decks, Casper “hunterace” Notto is particularly excited about Glinda Crowskin. “Imagine this with Meat Wagon and Summoning Portals,” he says. “All minions having Echo—there’s so much power there.”
RDU – Chameleos
Dima “RDU” Radu loves the hand-revealing Chameleos above all. “It’s my favorite because it brings a cool new mechanic that can provide a competitive advantage to any deck that runs it,” he says. “It offers you a lot of information, but there will also be a turn where it gives you a super good play.”
Orange – Countess Ashmore
Jon “Orange” Westberg‘s fondness for The Curator—which enabled a bonanza of card draw in the right decks—knows no bounds. As a result, he’s all-in on Countess Ashmore. “Curator was one of my favorite cards ever,” Orange says. “Countess has even more flexibility, because it can get spells or weapons as well!”
DrJikininki – Mossy Horror
An admirer of exceptional artwork, Jace “DrJikininki” Garthright chose Mossy Horror on the strength of its presentation alone. “The artwork and sounds are incredible, on top of the fact that I love his removal effect.”
Raven – Darius Crowley
Stay tuned for a deeper dive into Alexander “Raven” Baguley’s thoughts on the new Hearthstone Year. For now, Raven is content to share his thoughts on the Warrior legendary, Darius Crowley.
“You can play him quite regularly,” Raven says. “There are lots of ways to draw Rush minions, too, so he feels like a lot of fun to include in a deck.”
What’s your favorite card from The Witchwood? Are there other pros whose opinion you’d like to hear? Let us know in the comments!
Yeah well if they just outright removed the comment if it got enough downvotes (isn’t it at about 7 or so here?) then people would start whining that their comments are getting censored or some crap.
Really though? Nazi? Not entirely sure you know what that word you’re using means.
I am always curious, can they get even more stupid? The answer is always yes, yes they can
nazi mods is a 4chan meme sorry u didnt get it
It definitely is ironic.
Chameleos is never in my opening hand....just like Shudderwock is almost always in the second half of your deck
Crafted chameleos, but couldn't play it yet, always at the end of my deck x)
@Shudderwock comment
Having a deck with only 1 win condition is always bad. That's why Spiteful/Lady in White work well together
(Despite Spiteful being borderline OP)
"Borderline OP", yeah, 6 mana from 12/12 to 16/16 with untargetable to spells is PRETTY GOOD
Excited about? the title/article makes it sound like the expansion isn't released yet. but it's been a week already.
It's more like "favorite card from the set"
Maybe the guy at blizzard who did this article posted it one week late..?
Are you sure? Consider reading comprehension and context then reread the title and copy directly below it. Considering this is the first pro tournament with the new expansion the title is not the problem.
"Blizzard asked some of the players competing in the Hearthstone Championship Tour about which cards they are most excited about from Witchwood. Here are their answers!"
I assumed it's could be "excited to play in the tournament" but it's quite not clear, and they are talking as if they never played the cards before.
Wow, I've been playing this game a long time and I've never heard of these "pros" except for Orange. As "pros" these guys must have multiple championships, right?. I mean, how do you get to be "pro" if you haven't done anything worthy of sponsorship.
Huh? You've never heard of RDU or DrJikininki? They are two of the most well-known players out there. Raven gets paid by Blizzard to stream their events so that is definitely worthy of the 'pro' tag. Hunterace I can forgive you not knowing if you don't follow Wild tournaments.
DrJikininiki is not really that famous. He doesn't stream, and he hasn't been doing well in HCT as well, always eliminated in the Group Stages of Seasonal Championships
are you serious? i mean... Pavel, Thijs, StanCifka, Xixo... those are examples of "THE players"... Raven, RDU, etc arent that well known
Oh man.... Don't tell this to anyone else..
Raven and RDU are probably more well known than Xixo. Admittedly in Raven's case it might be "you know who this guy is, you just might not know his name".
Good god, you're a self-righteous douche. I've heard of all of them, so maybe you should pay more attention instead of being a self-centered prick.
