Yeah... just sad that discovers only works with neutrals and cards from your own class lol
Um... Should I tell him?
Agreed.. that was my initial reaction to this reveal as well.. that art is too cool for that card..
On the other side, cool art can lift cards that are not legendary and spice up the flavour.. but I still hoped for something cooler..
Dusk bat looks decent for a zoo deck, the rest don't look that good. 5 mana 4/6 is worse than a pit fighter, life steal is nice for lock but nowhere near constructed level. 4 mana 3/6 is also boring in stats and has a mostly negative effect. Compare this to the hunter legendary and you'll see it's got the same stats yet the hunter legendary has a crazy good effect in giving all your minions rush.
I'm happy to see these cards not because they're good but on the contrary they're bad (except maybe dusk bat) because cube lock is already going to be too powerful losing next to nothing from the rotation.
I can’t see the benefit for Warlock by making the Bat and Spider beasts. Are there any pros for that?
No. In the reveal stream last Monday it was said there were a lot of beasts just because there are a lot of beast in the forest. The tag is pretty meaningless in warlock.
There is not. In a card reveal Peter Whalen answered a question (which is the same as yours) that the beast-type kind of "fits" the expansion in a flavourful way.
So that's all. No crazy beast-synergies for WL this expansion ... Sadly.
masochist-beast warlock incoming
It's called "zoolock".
We all know this deck. It never left.
yeah, but this two card in particular are beasts, and they not looking like aggressive cards for me
So much beasts around. These beasts make Jeweled Macaw a better card in my opinion. Hunter can reach all class beasts and it seems this expansion's rogue will be Hunter. (from your opponent's class) and yeah, the effects may not be afforded by Hunter but stats are decent for their mana costs and for free produces.
Edit: Oh also I have realized that you could easily self damage with a weapon except Gladiator's Longbow and Candleshot. So, if we got Deathweb Spider from a random generator, we can easily get a 5 mana 4/6 lifesteal beast with Eaglehorn Bow.
So these cards are for a self damage Warlock with cards like Hooked Reaver and Bittertide Hydra.
Bat is definitely playable, but unfortunately not on curve. Spider might just be overkill in terms of healing at this point. Witch isjust added consistency, but I'm uncertain whether it is even needed.
Annoying pulls as Hunter
masochist Warlock coming!
Spooder: would've been played in every lock deck IF they didn't have enough healing already. As it stands, no other class heals quite like Warlock right now (which is... ironic, to say the least).
Bat: playable, zoo will LOVE it.
The 4-drop: Uh... no? The stats are alright, but the effect is horrible. Warlock has 0 problem dealing damage to himself as is. Sure, it does that for free, but do you really need to deal damage to yourself for free?
Just... no.
These cards are so amazing and work so well in conjunction with cards from the previous set. I think these 3 might make me (Warlock main) want to preorder the set!
Interesting to see them pushing for more self damage warlock cards. Can't see this being anywhere near cubelock's power level (yet) but these are the kind of cards I wish we could see more of in the meta i.e. cards which don't win the game on their own but rely on player decision making to be effective.
