Explaining the February Mammoth Card Pack Giveaway
There have been some questions about the recently announced pack giveaway so I figured it was a good idea to break it down for everyone.
- Each day you can only obtain one entry into the competition, which comes from your daily quest.
- We're not sure on the reset time. It's either going to be with daily resets or at 9 AM PST (12 PM EST, 5 PM CET).
- The event runs for 14 days, which means you can only have a maximum of 14 entries into the competition.
- A client patch ended up not being needed for the giveaway to go live. The Korean translated post failed us here.
- Yes, someone is actually going to end up winning 3000 Hearthstone packs.
- No, there's no way to divide those packs up with everyone who enters. SMH
My best advice to you: Try and login around the same time every day to complete your daily quest and you should be getting credit for every day. You may miss out on one day, but that's what we get when Blizzard doesn't give us an official time the reset takes place. Due to us not having an exact reset time, there won't be timers on our homepage for the event. We will, however, be putting out posts on our Twitter and Facebook accounts as reminders to login and complete daily quests - a task you should be doing anyway!
You say this, but where is your evidence? Also... how the hell is not having a confirmation of entry a scam??? This is the first time this small indie team (even though housed under Blizzard) decided to run a contest. I hope we see this every year, and I hope they improve on it. I'm sure they will.
Hearthstone has gone a long way from being an indie game. There's a team of a few dozen people working on the next expansion, and another on the one after that, and another one on the one after that. That's far from any definition of "Indie",
Also, they obviously have a entire social team working all the time and listening to community feeling. With a comunity of millions of players that's pretty impressive, even if there's a whole team dedicated to it.
I don't want to be mean but I wouldn"t like to see Kripp winning the lottery even when I love the content he makes and consider him my arena master.
I definitely want a "regular" player to win, assuming I won't win.
A big question: if I do not win anything, will I be able to alternatively buy the 30pack bundle or the chance to buy the bundle ends with the quest for packs event?
The 30 pack bundle will be available for a while and you are allowed to buy 1 of them (no multiples).
Yes, you can get just one entry per day.
I really didn't get this competition or whatever it is. Are we going to have a special daily quest to enter giveaway or we just have to complete regular daily quest for each day ?
the latter.
or, to be more precise, each day you complete a daily quest you get an extra chance to win a prize.
ben brode wins 3000 packs .
What if Blizzard only looks for accounts that completed a quest within last 14 days and gives each 14 entries. Thereby they save themselves alot of work counting entries for each single account that participates, all players who want to have a good chance feel like they have to play every day and do so and you cannot prove that they did it like this because someone who completed atleast one quest won. This would also explain the fact that we don't get any confirmation in-game for when we actually get an entry. That would be an evil genuis move. *insert Ben Brode laughing*
Another way to participate in this giveaway: send a postcard to Blizzard every day.

I think the EU blizz blog post says 17:00 GMT, which is 18:00 CET,
I hope you all like not winning...
'Cause I am gonna win it all! MUA HA HA HA!
<3
I guess I am wrongfully assuming that the reset happens when you get your new quest.
Yeah, doesn't make sense for them to give the packs to someone who won't make a big show of it...IMO the whole idea is stupid, give 3000 packs to one person so that one person doesn't need to ever buy anything basically, they are gonna drown in dust, smh...
Also, conspiracy theory :D ...we have to solve our dailies each day for lottery entries, so we will be gaining less gold for the new expansion (since you have to complete those rerolled 40g dailies too :D)
They won't be streamer when they get it, but they will be afterwards.
too bad I live on a low class country of which Blizz does not give a fu##... I wish I could at least give it a try...
...what are you talking about?
same........ and feels really really bad......
