Blizzard to Update Deathstalker Rexxar to Include New Beasts
There was a bit of outcry this past weekend about Rexxar not getting updated beasts. The Hearthstone team agrees with the community that they should have updated his Build-a-Beast Hero Power and an update to it will make its way here in the future. No date is yet available for the update, but we've been told they'll let us know when they have more information to share.
Some beasts may end up being not included on his hero power, much like how King of Beasts is not included.
Quote from KeganbeGreetings,
Many players have noticed that Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power does not include any of the new Beasts that were added with the Kobolds & Catacombs expansion.
Since then, some players have provided constructive feedback regarding the state of Deathstalker Rexxar, and we agreed that a change to the Hero Power was warranted.
As such, we will be updating Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power to include new Beasts going forward. Please be patient, as this is a fairly complicated endeavor and we may need to start with a smaller change before a more permanent solution is implemented. We don’t have a date for this change to share with you today, but we will provide more information once we have it.
Please also note that as new Beasts are released, we may need to mark some of them as exempt for various reasons, much like how King of Beasts is currently excluded from the pool of Beasts that Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power can pull from.
Thank you for providing constructive feedback. We see your love and passion for Hearthstone and believe that the best way to make Hearthstone better is to do so together.
See you all in the Tavern!
My guess is that they really did brute-force it for the release and didn't want to ask for development time for something that could be done with proofreaders time. The code for drawing the text on the card can't be that simple, as they opt to do everything with the tag for enchantment instead of the base text.
Hey, that's another solution, keep the complex beast text on the card, and put the simple beast text in the enchantments area, like an adapt.
I agre with you but here is the thing... in card games if you are doing it on code you need to make it flexible if you gonna make someting complicated :/
Look, if nothing else, it shows that public opinion matters to the company. Regardless of the errors in judgment they make, they aren't stubborn enough to keep doing things wrong. So I think this is an overall huge plus. Should it have just been done in the first place? Yeah. But kudos to them for acknowledging the right thing to do then doing it.
Worth crafting? I have both hunter K&C legendaries, the Professor and King Krush from packs, but don't have Call of the Wild or DK Rexxar for Kibler's Spellhunter, and no BIG Deathrattle deck has made noise yet.
Hunter is an occasional class for me and I usually beat hunters with my control decks when they decide to sacrifice tempo and hero power for zombeast manufacturing.
I'd say its worth it. And as for Call of the wild, it isn't really necessary for the deck from my experience. The games are usually decided before then. If nothing else the deck is fun to play, aside from frustrating mirror matches which feel really dependent on who gets a powered up spellstone out fast.
Great news!
Corridor Creeper would have been insane i guess.
That's already exempt, though, isn't it? Beasts that cost more than 5 mana aren't included, IIRC.
Build a beast only picks minions that are 5 Mana cost or less. preventing the resulting builds from being so expensive that they are unplayable.
Though they may make a special case for Corridor Creeper? I mean, it's not like the same cost-flaw applies to the Creeper or any zombeasts it forms.
Eh... I'm probably just dreaming.
But if you make Corridor Creeper with build a beast, it never was in your hand to get discounted.
But you can build the beast, and then do a few removal to lower it's cost...
What I don't get is why my comment got downvoted - I know blizzard isn't going to implement it. I don't care if it's too strong. Just trying to strike a conversation and WOOP DOWNVOTE THIS MORON.
I honestly dislike this community sometimes. Very negative toward *fun*
Because your comment made no sense. Only 5 or less cost beasts are included in your options, it doesn't matter if Creeper would be discounted afterwards because it costs more than 5 initially and therefore can't be presented. Nobody is negative towards fun, there's just nothing fun being presented here.
Completion date? Ho ho, when it's done!
I found the Torb main.
Cave Hydra Bloodworm = 6/8 lifesteal cleave (18 healing per attack)
If only Feral Gibberer were a beast, this could be hilariously broken (e.g.Feral Gibberer + Stonetusk Boar)
Ah excellent. Well done Team 5 for listening to the feedback and doing something about it even if it's not a straightforward simple fix.
has text and keyword, which apparently caused some trouble
