how is a conditional draw a demon better than a (nearly guaranteed) draw a demon.
Peeps gonna tech against weapons so meta will probably be light on silence.
Voidcaller is better but voidcaller is currently OP OP and more conditional. This effect is significantly better than voidcaller - you don't loose a card from your hand (with the minor downside of not being able to guarantee what gets pulled).
I don't know what to think of any of these "deathrattle: recruit" cards. On one hand, they give you a huge tempo disadvantage since you're spending a load of mana to play an understatted minion, but on the other, you can potentially make it up by being able to call a minion out of your deck. This one in particular would work great with the new 9 mana 3/9 taunt that summons 3 voidwalkers, but at the same time, 5 mana for a 2/2 is brutal.
People say "we'll have to wait and see" about new cards a lot, but I think it's especially true here. I don't think we've ever seen something with as much potential as recruit mechanics, and while we can all speculate and brainstorm about how it could work in such and such a deck, I just think we're not going to be able to make it work until we can play it ourselves.
Voidcaller was a good card ! This is not a voidcaller .
read meat wagon text again...
The card is not that awesome, sure... But i’m glad we’re finally moving away from discardlock.
Okay, so the obvious comparison is Voidcaller, both are understatted demons with a deathrattle to put a demon that you put in your deck (Assuming no discover). So how does this stack up?
Stats: Jank. It's comparable to Twilight Summoner, but I'd argue the +1/+1 makes it worse, as does the +1 mana, since it's harder to play, and harder to pop.
Effect:
Upsides; Your hand is untouched, meaning you gain card advantage. Further, you'll never pull unlicensed apothecary, or howlfiend (Off of a kazakus potion or Kabal Trafficker, for instance.) unless you wanted to. This synergizes really nicely with Cataclysm, too, since you'll pull from you (not discarded) deck. It also isn't a demon, so you don't have to worry about one of these pulling a copy of itself. It's also perfect for scrambled egg warlock, with a few big demons.
Downsides: If you have several demons in your deck, it'll be hard to guarantee a good result off of this card, unless you're stacking your deck with big demons, and cutting out your smaller demons (So goodbye to flame imp, for instance). Either you build your deck around it, or you get unreliable results.
This one is NOT a demon. That alone makes it pretty weak.
That is good, you cant revive this with guldan
finally someone gets it
Welcome to this weeks episode of "This card is amazing, on wait... it's a Deathrattle"
this basicly an egg, MAKE EGGLOCK GREAT AGAIN.
Seems good only with mass removals like defile or hellfire. This way you:
- you get the effect immediately
- you do not risk it being silenced or controlled with a potion of madness / cabal
- you actually have a minion available immediately after your mass removal
- if you are using defile, it may actually help going on with the defile chain
For this reason I find this new minion unplayable in a zoo/demon deck, however it MAY be tested in a control-demon lock, as long as it focuses on running only high-costed demons, especially if some of them have bad battlecries that you can avoid using this. You also do not want to run many minions with good battlecries, or you risk losing their good effects by bringing them in with this.
Overall, I feel like it's not good enough, but I wait to see which other demons are going to come out with the set. If there is a good amount of big demons with powerful non-battlecry effects, that this may have a meaning.
I would love to see it played in some heavy control warlock deck, maybe with nzoth.
Sanguine Reveler wants to take you to a party...
Agreed. seems this cards best potential would be in either control or a sac deck, obviously gotta skimp on the small demons. Best case scenario with this would be turn 6 get a 3/3 sanguine then recruit a 9 cost void lord. that's a ton of body especially if played after the lock wep for tempo.
Ok... no!
I was very confused about why people thought this was bad. Then I realized it wasn't a battlecry...
I mean the card is very slow but if you pull out this new big demon its pretty good right? The problem is that priest will be still in top tier so potion of madness and cabal shadow priest makes this card very weak.
