I don't blame noxious hearthstone leaves a lot to be desired at its price and the overall game. I recently quit playing after Un-goro launched and got back into playing magic again for the first time in 10 years it was a great decision. Buying real cards that have real value instead of throwing my money in a virtual money pit. The game is just better all the way around being able to interact with the board on your opponents turn and the game not being a super watered down casual friendly game are all pluses.
I'm completely not trolling; I just have a hard time understanding why you would come back here and pay a visit to share this feedback. Do you really like the community in spite of all of Hearthstone's failings?
I don't disagree with you, for what it's worth. The game is expensive for what's offered, watered down is being nice when referring to the interactions, and it largely rewards reading your opponent's deck and getting lucky on the mulligan (and going first).
I never stay away from blizzard games I've been playing them since i was 14 years old, i'm now 26. I always keep up to date on news of the games that i have played and if i see things that i'm interested in i come back. Value town was a show i listened to weekly so when i seen news i had to read. That is what this website is a knowledge base for a community/message board for that community. Generally speaking i imagine a ton of people who don't currently play hearthstone come here and read the news/current updates while they are sitting bored at work. life isn't as linear or black/white as you'd like to think it is.
I don't understand why people get so frustrated by RNG? It balances out overtime in your favour and against. People just love to rememeber the times they got screwed by it and become all salty. If you look at winrates and class diversity this is the most balanced meta we've had in a while and it's been constantly shifting through Un'Goro as well (Noxious even mentioned this point on the show).
Don't get me wrong, Gwent is a good game, but it's also new and exciting at the moment. Once it gets to the point a few expansions in where everyone feels like they've "done everything they can in the game", people will grow a bit tired of Gwent too. The problem really is that a lot of people expect these games should always be as good as when they first played them. Hence why at the beginning of new content there is a massive spike in players and everyone's happy for a week or so before the saltiness kicks in once the meta starts becoming defined.
Bottom line, people just need to adjust their expectations vs reality or go play another game. Don't waste your time being salty posting on forums when you can rid the "evil" of Hearthstone from your life and just go play something else.
Posted a comment almost exactly the same the other week in a different thread regarding Gwent. You're exactly right, people will overlook issues with whatever is new and exciting. Once that wears off then they'll start noticing the things that annoy them more. It happens with any game. To say one game is better than another is false. Each game appeals to people for different reasons.
First Shadowverse, then Elder Scrolls Legends, and now Gwent. Hearthstone really needs to cut the crap on the BS RNG and start giving people what they want, or else this game is gonna end up just like WoW when Warlords of Drendor hit. Lifecoach gone, Noxious gone, Forsen gone, and Kripp is considering leaving too.
Blizzard is gonna kill Hearthstone like they did Starcraft 2.
Well, now is the time to get in on the ground floor.
I think a lot of people here just don't understand that Blizzard won't make major changes unless their bottom line starts hurting. Other games coming out to challenge them is a good thing. Healthy competition will keep them on their toes and they'll undoubtedly adapt where they feel they need to.
In the end, players need to understand what about card games they enjoy the most and play the game that aligns with their style. Maybe Hearthstone has more random elements and another game has less. Maybe you like Hearthstone for the WoW theme over the theme of another game. Everyone is different. There is no objective right or wrong answer to what game is the "best".
You're absolutely right. However, when Blizzard makes efforts to promote Hearthstone as an e-Sport game, clearly there is a mismatch somewhere. Plus, I have seen very few card games that actually have as Point of Sale "fun randomness". There is indeed objective factors to be measured, such as complexity and design balance decision making from the dev team. Never touching any cards except the ones that go crazily out of hand (and that, one month later than it should) is objectively not good. Never buffing any card so that the pool of actually playable cards could go up, is not a good thing. Such a lack of complexity and small array of interaction is harmful the longer it stays that way.
Oh and I'm quite the blizzard fanboy that spent a lot of money on this game (so I'm not a hater or anything), but considering its current state, Hearthstone needs serious changes.
I think we should make a poll of "will you leave Hearthstone to play Gwent?". This is for us to see how many ppl are not happy about the game anymore.
Noxious was the first streamer I saw. I even donated like 20 dollars to him. Sad he is going away, but he was not having fun anymore.
I will stay with HS becuase I'm a Blizzard fanboy, yet there has to be some changes. Un'Goro was great, now it is getting obsolete. We need a new expansion.
That the problem, new expansion will be fun for a month and then things will get stale yet again. And Blizzard can not make weekly or even monthly patches, because when they made Hearthstone they wrote bad code(it is not made to be modular, so they can not change it as they please it).
I gonna miss you Noxious, see you around buddy. (I'm not crying YOUR crying)
I always muted twitch whenever Noxious was casting in tournaments, glad he is gone.
Glat to know I wasn't the only one. What an annoying manlet he was.
I applaud Noxious for setting a mature example.
I wish more people who claim to hate Hearthstone would just shut up already and make the move to Gwent (or whatever game they prefer).
And by the way, if you hate RNG, you hate the very essence of Hearthstone, whether you want to believe it or not.
If RNG was the essence of Hearthstone most cards would have RNG. They don't. Only a handful do. Mage hero power isn't "Deal 1 damage to a random enemy." The devs are the one shoving more and more RNG into the game, the game works just fine without it.
