A Mammoth of a New Year is This Week's Brawl - It's Co-Op!
The party is here! Work together with another player to decorate the tavern and kickoff a grand New Year of Hearthstone.
Trivia
- This is a brand new brawl!
- The brawl is a celebration of the incoming new Standard Rotation, Year of the Mammoth.
- An Un'Goro card pack will be rewarded to winners of this week's brawl. This pack can be opened after Un'Goro launches.
- Party Crasher auto-attacks contribute to progress on the Deal 100 Damage to Enemy Heroes daily quest.
How it Works
- No deck creation this time, you get to play as either Valeera the Rogue or Malfurion the Druid - chosen at random when the game starts.
- If either of you get low, try and toss some heals out. Use them wisely!
- The game ends when one of you die. Don't die!
Phase 1
- Your initial goal is for you and your partner to decorate the party. You do this by using your Hero Power to add decorations.
- The Hero Power uses all your currently available Mana to go towards the decorations. In total, you must spend 25 mana together.
- In this phase, Party Crashers (4 mana 3/5 with Taunt) will spawn each turn. They attack face so deal with them.
- Once the party has been decorated, a Boss (Pinata Golem) will spawn. He cannot be targeted by spells.
- Don't use all your hard removal in this phase. The crashers are pretty easy to deal with and don't hurt as hard as they do in Phase 2!
Phase 2
- The boss spawns! He has 85 Health that you must take out together with your partner.
- Your hero power has changed! You can now spend 2 mana to deal 3 damage to the boss.
- The Party Crashers continue to spawn but now.. now they gain +2/+2!
- Do not under any circumstance fill your board. You want to have a slot open, otherwise, you get board cleared to make room the boss.
- Sometimes you will receive a treat when attacking the Pinata. These can help you draw cards, heal, or destroy Party Crashers.
- There is an AoE that goes out which deals 2 damage to everything that isn't a Party Crasher. Seems to happen either early on or later.
Discuss This Week's Brawl
We've got a thread up on our Tavern Brawl forums if you want to discuss strategies and such!
erm, am I missing something? I just checked and you can invite any of your friends to a tavern brawl duel like usual?
whatcha on about?
also it's not shitty but pretty cool :P
Uhm... you most definitely can play with friends in brawl.
Friendly arenas would be abused. That'll never happen.
You can play with a friend but you don't get the reward that is the problem. Because it is a co-op you can't concede your game to give your friend a quick card pack so I don't see why you have to play for the reward with randoms.
Year of the mamooth is almost out and we still don't have updated Cycled Dust Calculator :/
1st time I play, I think is to win opponents'. Only realised later is co op brawl.
many player also think like this. Lucky my 2nd games, meet some good player that work with me to win the braw.
I wish it was clear at least this is co-op cause my oponents keeps quitting when they think i beat them
Ill go on a leap and say this was most interesting brawl i have played since team 5 introduced brawls. Some weird draws for me in late game made game interesting but good co op gave us victory. Anyway, loved it and hope they give us more of these
It seems I lucked out. Played with good players first brawl with both accounts. Mind if I roll need?
If I never see those party poopers again ... I won't miss them at all.
I sapped my partner's Party Crasher and the next turn a message showed up saying "The Party Crasher gets bored of sitting in the hand and leaves." discarding himself.
I just roflstomped a Rogue.
Once she realized I was buffing the party crashers, she started to play along but it was too late.

I haven't played a below 20 game in a year or so, but if this is where all of my partners are hiding, oh how easy must it be to win there
I love co-op but this one is too easy. You can win it even uf paired with a retard
well I must have had some of the smartest people in the world to co op with....
Not one of my favorites, but I don't have to like every week's brawl ;)
Some people are definitely not able to realize how co-op works or just ignore your (low) life total.. Kinda disappointing sometimes..
First game I did my partner was a complete idiot and thought he had to kill me -_-
I played 6 brawls and all players in co-op don't have idea with bananas on crashers or any stupid idea, like other posts here, this is very good brawl, maybe play more games
That brawl was fun! Figured out second time. Get board presence and Jades up a bit before getting the pinata to show.
If I'll get another retard who doesn't understand what "CO-OP" means I'm gonna scream.
