Heroic Brawl Returns Today!
The Heroic Brawl has returned this week so if you're interested in spending your hard earned gold before the expansion hits next month, you've come to the right place.
Trivia
- This is the second time we've seen Heroic Brawl.
- The brawl was first seen on November 16th, 2016.
- You are able to run the Brawl 100 times during the week. This is up from the original 5 which was announced.
How it Works
- Pay an entry fee of 1000 Gold or $10 USD.
- Build a 30 card Standard deck. Be careful, you can't change your deck once locked into the run.
- Play against other players, get higher rewards for more wins. (Full details below).
- Like Arena, once you've lost three matches, you're out!
- Also like Arena, the game tries to match you up with other players with a similar win-loss record for the current run.
Reward Structure
This Brawl has a special rewards structure which is much like Arena. It is very top heavy so unless you're hitting six wins, you're not even breaking even.
All packs rewarded from this week's Heroic Brawl are from Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.

Discuss the Brawl
Head on over to our dedicated discussion thread for this week's Brawl!
Community Brawl Decks
Find decks created by fellow community members! To those submitting decks, be sure to include proof of your win-rate with the deck!
Keep in mind that the last time this Brawl was active, Gadgetzan had not yet been released. Using old decks from past patches are likely not very good!
Corporation tries to actually make money, news at 11. If you want a 100% free game, you'll have to make it yourself in your free time.

Same thing happened to me...
Feels bad man.
Me too!
Bummer... I always look forward to the drip-feed, once-a-week free pack! I'm entitled, damn it!!!
Great, no free pack this week u_u
Would love to see a peasant tavern brawl after this, for the F2P players out there. Maybe one where only common cards from the basic and expert sets are allowed...
No 40 dust for me :(
I'm a F2P and i want this one, no one cares that you suk, stop complaining about F2P.
So you mean like every other tavern brawl? They're pretty much all designed for casual... and when they try to do just one every once in a while for the more competitive folks everyone loses their minds.
I like every other tavern brawl, yep. Because usually they change the gameplay or rules of the game. Heroic TB doesn't change anything, its a constructed deck arena for the, as you say, more competitive folks.
I am not losing my mind, I just would like an alternative for those who don't have 1000 gold or don't want to play competitively like that (ranked is the other option).
Also, if you check the poll up here, 75% of voters say they hadn't play it and wouldn't do now (I know these are not the most reliable data but it's something)
As I stated above. The alternative for you is every single other tavern brawl. This one just isn't for casual players. End of story. Sit it out and do your quests for your packs.
So far only 2 weeks of the 60+ weeks that tavern brawl has existed have been the heroic tavern brawl. Which though it's true this does not speak to the 70% of players that typically sit in the rank 15 + bucket it does speak to the more competitive people and streamers.
When the first heroic brawl happened twitch viewership multiplied because despite the fact that many of the people who voted that they did not play it last time and won't this time, many of those players decided to turn to the people who would take it far and get enjoyment out of that.
My point that was missed above is that casual players get the most out of every other brawl but this one. So why can't the competitive people have a brawl that is fun for them?
I understand your point and I agree that it's good that there's an option for competitive players and streamers. But, there's a catch in your statement. Competitive players participate and enjoy the other TBs as well. Our alternative (the group of people I mentioned before, casual, F2P or non-competitive players) this week is not having a tavern brawl at all. That's no alternative...
I believe it could be easily compensated with a secondary TB. So you can *choose* which mode you want to play.
The twtich fact you mention is super interesting, but streaming and watching gameplays is a matter apart from playing. It is deeply entwined but it is no the same as playing the game.
Sorry if it looks I'm complaining, I wanted to make somewhat of a suggetion (to deaf ears, because this isn't blizzard or anything official I know) I wanted to point out that there could be more than only two alternatives (heroic or normal TBs)
And sorry if I can't explain myself correctly, english is not my mother tongue.
I agree that I also wish that both a casual brawl and heroic brawl could exist in the same week. Unfortunately this is where we get into the realm of programming and design constraints. I for one am not a professional coder and therefore can't speak deeply on the subject, but from what I've seen from an outside perspective the game just simply can't handle an additional mode at this time. They may be able to expand upon in it the future but as for right now they have to use the tools they have available to test modes and keep refining and adapting the game. Tavern brawls have pretty much always been a sandbox of sorts for the blizzard developers to try things out, the fact that they also threw in the free pack each week was really just a bonus.
You're doing quite well conveying your message and though the original comment came off as a complaint you have proven to be very logical and understanding in your replies and for that I commend you! offering up grievances with a game we love is how we push for change, as long as its presented in a constructive manor and not simply "I don't get what I want so QQ"
Here's hoping that one day they can actually throw in a real tournament mode to the game rather than taking up a brawl week.
Not worth it, unless they make it that you get 10 packs at 3 wins and then extra as you go up.
Not really true. At 4 wins you break even in terms of pack gold and dust value. Anything beyond that is pure bonus. (This is based on the paying money rather than gold. -$9.99 = 7 packs. I am aware that for those paying gold for entry it'd be equivalent to 10 packs)
Sure it takes a bit of a buy in, but that's basically like a semi tournament. High risk equals potentially high reward.
Quite simply, this mode isn't for the casual gamer, which is why 70% of this thread is all salt.
play reno mage feel good man vs 3 jade druid in role. play druid vs aggro warrior. so good luck
rock, paper, scissor meta, confirm rekt or lucky 12 win.
BabyRage competitive players get something they want for once BabyRage
Competitive players already have Ranked play and Arena, which are things they want by definition. So your "for once" is a ridiculous exaggeration.
