This Week's Tavern Brawl is The Battle for Gadgetzan
Mix it up with the bosses of Gadgetzan! You have a few "Friends" in high places that'll show you the ropes.
Trivia
- This is a brand new brawl!
- At game start, instead of the usual Innkeeper calling out your hero's name, it instead says the Gadgetzan faction your hero belongs to.
How it Works
- Click the play button and get assigned one of three classes, Druid, Paladin, or Priest.
- Your deck is pre-built based on the class you receive.
- More coming soon.
Discuss this Week's Brawl
Head on over to our discussion thread to talk about this week's Brawl.
Shouldn't you get a gadgetzan pack for this brawl? Not that I'm complaining, I like the standard pack.
That would seem appropriate, but I think many people will prefer the Classic pack over MSOG pack
I know that I prefer Classic over MSoG packs, but that's just m =)
Have you played constructed? :)
I usually don't play dragon decks, but that Druid opening sounds like 75% of my Druid opponent's opening xD.
Yeah... idk what's with all the priest is OP talk here, beat up numerous priests and lost as him many times.
Because that's the rule of Tavern Brawl. Given how people complain the moment Blizzard changes anything about it, don't expect them to suddenly change the packs you get.
Guide:
1. Join brawl
2. Concede until u get druid
3. Get pack
4. PROFIT!
Priest only stronger if you can burst druid early game with low drops.
You can no longer beat druid after jade golems control the board
If anything, this brawl highlights how truly terrible Paladin is right now in Standard.
No, I can't agree with you there. Paladin might not be OP, but it's not in a terrible state.
Played 1 tavern brawl.. as pally vs druid. Won easily, wasn't even close. Might be my incredible skill </sarcasm>, but all it proves is you can win if you get the right cards at the right time... which is true in every game of Hearthstone. The hand-buffs help you put a lot of (high health) damage on the board cheaply, which helps.
<edit> I've now played 6 tavern brawls, 2 pally, 2 priest, 2 druid.. Balance!! Won the pally games, won 1 priest, lost all the druid games. It's probably my play style.. but I hate jade druid, give me the kabal or goons any day.
I've been playing quite a bit of pally as the first legendary I opened was Wickerflame Burnbristle. You can make some fun decks with the new cards, I'm even getting a decent winrate with them.
It's cool we don't have to all agree. I just think Pally's best deck is tier 3 at best maybe in Standard. To me that's pretty terrible.
Played once as Pally vs Druid and won... smuggler's run hit 4 cards into grimestreet outfitter hit 4 cards into 2nd grimestreet into coin dopplegangster turn 4 for 3x 5/5s. Feelsgoodman.
Managed to win with Paladin against Priest by luring a whole board of dragons into pyro-equality and landing Han-Cho buff on doppelgangster. But man, I've drawn 17 cards before I got to ANY buff cards.
And the cutscenes are really annoying too. Really enjoyed playing double-rattle brawl with the OTK-priest, this... a pack is enough.
Played Paladin vs. Priest twice; my buddy played it once. All 3 games were complete and total beat-downs by the priest. It seems that the priest has a synergistic Dragon Priest deck and the Paladin has a watered down mostly-classic Paladin deck with a few goons thrown in that don't do nearly enough good. It's almost like the Pally deck should be aggro but it doesn't have the things that Aggro should have. Card draw was a huge issue as well; the priests kept stealing my Loothoarder and Book-wyrming my Accolyte of pain. Even when they didn't I always ran out of cards and the priests always had full hands.
After only getting Paladin 3 times in a row I somehow won versus a Druid. The Paladin deck they chose was terrible. Doomsayer in a Goons deck isn't great. It is not a card you want to buff so you don't want it in your hand and you don't want it out if things are going well. It only kind of works if you are getting murdered.
