Maybe this makes Mill Rogue with Moat Lurker viable? This, Youthful Brewmaster, Shadowstep and Vanish can bounce Moat Lurker to keep removing threats and stall for time before the Brann-Coldlight-Illusionist Combo. Maybe I'm just optimistic...
meh
Positives: optional bounce back. more cards with this effect to build battlecry decks with.
Negatives: boring design. not what rogues need (healing, board clears). sub par statline. combo can actually be a drawback in many situations.
As a Rogue player I'm so underwhelmed by the quality of the cards so far. I mean, at least if it discounted or, better yet, if the option was for ANY minion to be bounced then it would see play.
As it stands - dust it.
What a bad card.
Are all of you guys blind? This card is broken when you are able to play Youthful Brewmaster and pick up your handy-dandy Murloc Tinyfin then replay the Tinyfin and slap down your Ferryman to pick up the Tinyfin and watch your opponent emote in awe as the Hearthstone server overloads from infinite value and gives you the win.
As if Murloc Tinyfin needs to be any cuter. Making him hop around might just make your opponent go "awww!" and concede due to a cuteness overload.
If nothing else, the uncontrollable laughter should set your opponent off balance, causing many misplays throughout the remainder of the match.
Possibly OP, definitely viable. Will see constructed play.
Guess it could be somewhat playable in something like pirate rogue with patches..
tbh bladeflurry was a little powerful before wotog, but after wotog rogues' lost oil anyway so bladeflurry was already pretty underwhelming. i mean you can swashburgler -> ferryman -> swashburgler and you don't have to return anything into your hand if you don't want to by not activating the combo while youthful brewmaster forces you to. yeah this card should have at least gotten a battlecry effect really underwhelming but interesting flexibility i guess.
Jade Spirit Aya Blackpaw
A Jade Golem deck that combos bounce effects might be the idea behind this card. Since rogue doesn't have anything like Jade Idol, maybe this is there way of creating immense value from Jade Golems. And of course, Brann is an auto-include in that deck, as well. I can already picture the list.
Also: Shadowstep + Youthful Brewmaster + Gadgetzan Ferryman + Reno Jackson.
Need combo, doesn't even discount the minion you return, average stats. = strictly worse Youthful Brewmaster.
This card is more flexible than brewmaster in that you can choose when to bounce and when not. Just need the stats? Play it first. Looking for battlecry value? Play it second.
imo better Youthful Brewmaster.
better stats
you can choose if you want return minion or not (not always but still)
Man, Rogues need healing and you give them.... this?
Come on blizzard.
Combos are pretty easy to get and you normally don't want to bounce your 1-mana card back to your hand. So I suppose the theory is that you don't actually have to bounce anything back with this card. Could make it good in arena, but I am a little dissapointed
its is not actually strictrly worse, sometimes u dont want to return anything in ur hand and want to extend ur board, with brewmaster it is impossible
Sigh...Purify 2.0
Not groundbreaking but a better youthful brewmaster
Am I missing something or did we just pay making a Battlecry into Combo only to swap the stats of Youthful Brewmaster..?
In fact, is that even a benefit ? By the stage of the game you want to send stuff back to hand, 1 Attack is probably worth more than 1 Health.
The only beneift I can see is if you just want the board presence, you can play this first thing, which will also trigger combo for later.
Team 5, in a set that is pushing THREE different rogue archetype, finds card slots for that kind of sh*t.
Oh...Okay. That's all I want to say :(
So they couldn't make it a battle-cry, a pirate, have better stats or have it affect enemy minions?
Welcome to the new open design space. Population: Rogue
Omg 100% worse brewmaster.... because of combo and 2 att. This must be a joke.
