ChanManV, Noxious, Zalae, & Firebat Discuss the Upcoming Nerfs - Value Town #89

The way I see it, the problem was neither doomhammer nor rockbiter. It was all the aggro cards that were above average that Blizz gave Shaman, and on top of those aggro cards is the combo ever useful in an aggressive way.
Consider that Shaman was an absolute garbage class before all the aggro cards like Trogg and Totem Golem came out and those days no one ever said anything about Doomhammer and Rockbiter combo being OP. If there is a problem with all the aggro cards, then Blizz might as well just nerf those ones, like the way they did in Tuskarr Totemic.
Even if Rockbiter Weapon as it is had some controversy in its value, it wasn't as controversial as cards like Tunnel Trogg, Tuskarr Totemic, Flamewreathed Faceless. These cards were the ones that deserved the argent nerf, not the Rockbiter weapon.
and anyway, Rockbiter Weapon doesn't seem at all like it should be a 2 cost card.
People complaining about Rockbiter being worse than other 3 damage cards...
Sure it's worse than Frostbolt or Darkbomb. It was NEVER meant to be a single target removal, that is why you have lighting bolt.
It is a fair card now considering all the things shaman has. It can buff Totens to trade (which don't usually have attack so it is dead board without buffs) and it has synergy with windfury. The card on it's own seems bad but on shaman itself it's still a good card. Not overnerfed at all.
It also makes Overload more punishing for shaman, which SHOULD be a thing. It's stupid that you can play cards above the mana curve and still get away with it because all your cards are so low cost that you don't really need that extra one or two mana anyway...
The new charge card is being underrated i think. This can def see play in tempo and dragon warrior to clear minions especially against aggro. I really like the new text to it and it seems that people might be sleeping on it.
I agree with this nerf. With Emperor leaving standard soon, there will be no combo charge warrior anyway. New charge card gives so many options. I can already see magnataur charge in play for value trade or new option to combo with sylvanas than shieldslam.
Firebat could be an employee working for Blizzard tbh. The man at least has clear goals, done his research, and knows what's going on in the meta. Not as salty as some of the streamers and more objective in his analysis.

Rockbiter was the only 3 dmg 1 mana spell without any huge drawback. It killed most one and two mana drops. Shaman could get any board turn one except the 1/1 divine and the 1/1 death rattle minion with rockbiter+ tunnel.I would have nerfed it to +2 dmg for your hero and 3 damage for a minion or even charge minion only +3 attack so you could at least heropower and clear a bigger minion later on.
But it's blizzard and they like to overnerf :/ I hope shaman gets a 2 mana spells damage minion to buff the new weapon on curve
So make Frostbolt and dark bomb one mana to Nerf rockbiter in a better way? no. Rockbiter is the one 1 mana deal 3 dmg to a minion card plus 1 mana deal 6 with doom hammer. and which other 6 mana 2 card combo deals 10 dmg plus you still have a fucking windfury weapon after it? I can't find one.
Blessing of might: Give 3 damage to a minion... PERMANENTLY.. this was the shaman version of that- give someone 3 damage for a turn. Just like Wow, Shaman got the lesser of the two; however, required that you have some sort of board or use your face to deal the 3 damage. I really don't think classic cards need more nerfs. Blizz Devs need more brain... buff your brain Blizzard!!!

the problem with rockbiter is not that its way too overpowered no.. the problem is f*cking DoomHammer combo with 2x rockbiter.. its just dumb... and saying ohh what are the chances you have 2x rockbiters... usually they have it dont tell me why... but atleast the games i played they always have it... just like warrior turn 2 firey war axe weapon.. it just how the game works....
its not huge nerf imo, it will still see a play i guess... with 1x doomhammer instead of 2 maybe? who knows... aggro still a thing no matter how hard they nerf abusive or whatver they are still in game..
the hunter nerf is a big deal finally you can do something before you die in turn 8 so gg on that blizz plus having 2 9 mana cards at the start could cost you the game... so pretty sure it will be 1 call of the wild in a mid range deck..
You never have 2 rockbiters since if your opponent was pressuring well you had to use one already and you unlikely have the card draw to draw into both in late game without losing massive tempo.
