Ben Brode on Lack of Demons, Priests, PTR, and Aggro
What happens when the Overwatch developers give the OW community constant developer interaction? Ben Brode shows up to a complaint thread on reddit to talk! We've recapped his responses to the thread below.
While we're on the subject, do you think we need more developer interaction?
Quote from Ben Brode
- Ben tries to make himself available as much as possible, through Twitter, Twitch, and reddit.
- A Public Test Realm for future Hearthstone content would require revealing all the cards at least a month before release. (Source)
- This is cited as being a major downside.
- Ben doesn't believe that aggro decks are self-piloting. (Source)
Priests
- They're evaluating Priests but are not ready to reveal plans yet. (Source)
- Ben thinks it is possible there are quality Priest decks out there that haven't been discovered. (Source)
Warlocks / Demons
they should replace all the reprinted cards with the new ones and/or add "good" cards like healbot and loatheb to classic.
also they should start nerfing some broken cards at the middle of a season so that the meta evolve more. first hunter, then druid, chrismas tree and aggro shaman... its way to annoying to play against the same decks for more than half a year.
and against aggro: just set the hp to 35 and/or the max hp to 40. we got better cards so why not?
My observations on Priest are that it's a very responsive class and therefore very anti-meta. So when the meta is fairly diverse as it is now, Priest has to include too many answers to different stuff. The result is they don't get the right answers when they need them, and a few of their responsive cards become useless every game.
That's control-ish Priest anyway. The issue with any midrange or minion based Priest is that their minions are pretty shit at board control for a class whose HP relies so heavily on staying on the board.
I was experimenting with priest early game. It can be very snowbally. It's just that fast tempo heal priest lost some important cards in Standard.
Sense Demons: Put 2 random Demons from your stock into your next adventure.
2x Worthless Imp coming right up :)
To be fair, I think it would be pretty difficult to add new Demons in the Old Gods expansion since Demons are already pretty evil. I did actually like that they added more non-Demon Warlock minions since it added more diversity to the Warlock minion pool, though at the same time, you can't argue that it seems really weird not adding Demons and I think it would be a good idea to add more since they're part of the identity of the Warlock class.
Give us demons.. 4 the demonrise become a reality
Priest decks that haven't been discovered yet? Please, sir, share your ideas with the class, we're all ears!
pretty sure that Zetalot already played like every possible Priest-Deck out there :D
you should check wowhobbs and noxious.. they played the sh*t out of the class haha
Demons are great and stuff.
But it would be nice to actually have something other than demons.
I mean warlocks are also about debuffs and damage over time, watching your enemies suffer slowly over time while you drain their powers. Cards like Curse of Rafam would be a nice way to develop and expand if they find the right balance between power and drawback.
All in all, wait and see what the future holds for warlocks.
At least now Priest can get some hope for the class's future...
More demons would be good - it was a real shame when we lost quality demons such as voidcaller and mal'ganis.
the demonlock rising ???
cancer meta incoming...
Man you cant even say a lie .
Please disappear https://hearthstats.net
I see many in ladder.
0.2% of Priest at Rank 1... And half of that are all the Zetalot's accounts...
I laughed with the lack of "Aggro"part.Haha
