A blue post on twitter shed some light on the upcoming Constructed Balance cycle, with so much attention on Battlegrounds for this patch. Read on to learn more!
Quote from BlizzardA note from Design: The masters tour will be played on the current patch with no changes.
However, on the 16th, the BG Duos patch will launch with a balance change for Demon Hunter.
This is an extra change- we'll still have a normal patch window 9-14 days after 29.2 as usual.
No mention at all that they notice or even care that Time Warp is a Tier 1 list. Again.
They'll make the weapon a 2/3 or bump the mana cost. Won't nerf Window Shopper because they'd have to refund 400 dust.
I didnt even realize that DH is op. I thought its normal to have 2 untargetable Magtheridons raping your face on turn 5.
Lol, have not lost a single game to DH. Total garbage deck, apparently devs also noob players
are U playin hearthstone?xdd
Can you all stop overthinking?
Shopper to 6 and weapon to 4, kill the deck and move on, who cares? I hope it's Zarimi's turn to be busted next, it's the one I crafted.
Zarimi already feels pretty busted to me but I play wild. 2 aggro decks I've seen can very consistently blow you up by turn 5
Have a feeling they will bump up Umpire's Grasp to four mana and reduce the stats of Window Shopper if we look at other miniaturize cards even those with weaker effects their stats are lower.
16th xd enjoy dhstone for another 10days
Tbh I rather face DH than Warrior right now, facing Warrior just feels dirty and not fun at all at least DH is playing for the board and games against them doesnt last 20 mins, Warrior just plays removal after removal after removal until they are ready to unleash their win con.
DH is stronger and have no real weaknesses atm but there are quite a few decks that has like 45/55 matchups against them and you acutally feel like the game isnt decided from the start even if your starting in an uphill battle.
idk why they always do this... They consistently give demon hunter nothing but garbage cards then randomly pick one to make completely busted in one aggro deck that's cheap to craft, then it gets nerfed for like 2 patches in a row. Then the other 'decent' demon hunter cards they print are only playable in a deck which contains 6 other DH legendaries.
Also, that DH deck that everyone's playing is broken, but rainbow DK, tentacle warrior and wheel warlock are much better decks that are less fun to play against and way easier to play
While I do agree that both Tentacle Warrior and Wheel Warlock are more annoying to face they just arent stronger decks in terms of winrates and meta. And Tentacle Warrior is actually weak compared to both the Highlander version that is going with Boomboss as finisher and the standard Odyn Warrior both decks outperforms Tentacle quite abit. Tentacle Warrior is more a niche deck than contender atm when your up against it your lucky since they are acutally playing a nerfed version of Highlander Warrior.
In Legend the DH deck has positive winrates againsts every single deck in the meta only if we look at the top 1k we can see that Highlander Warrior turns the tables on it and is slighly favored but than again the Warrior than have like 30/70 against both DK and Warlock while DH has around 65/35 and 70/30 against them. Right now DH stands out as a clear number one and Reno Warrior is probably number two and tbh Zarimi Priest might be number three because the deck performs extremly well across the board only really weak matchup for them is of course DH.
As far as DK goes I think alot problems would be solved if they just added Steamcleaner back into standard I feel thats a card that is needed to control things like for exemple plagues. I would argue it should have been moved to the core set with its rotation. And main reason its quite strong is it counters highlander decks if you look at their matchups outside of Warrior its not really that amazing in fact remove the Warrior decks and the DK decks are unfavored in more matchups than they are favored across the other decks in the meta.
As far as Warrior goes I just feel that they have too much removal to the point its really frustrating to face, I really wouldnt mind if they tuned some something down in the class.
And finally Warlock the big offender in that deck in my mind is Forge of Wills, it usally both stabilizes and gives them full control on the board for low amount of resources. By just nerfing it somewhat and delaying the power turns for Warlock abit more decks would be able to put pressure on Warlock so they cannot do whatever they want and play the Wheel so freely.
You're probably right about warrior. I think reno decks in general are still too busted and I'm tired of seeing them. Reno the Lone Ranger shuts down so many fun strategies and it's way too strong. The reno problem is going to get worse and worse when new cards come out as well because that always happens. The 'restriction' of putting 1 copy of each card is always less and less restricting when they add more cards. Ive hated the reno mechanic since it was first introduced.
And I played almost every popular deck including the paladin one that was killed in the last patch. Wheel warlock was by far the easiest and strongest one. I won 10 freaking games in a row at diamond 5 and made legend for the first time in 10 years of playing HS... I don't care what the stats say because theres clearly some sort of bias. Maybe it has a lower WR because its worst matchup is sif mage and plague DKs, which recently got popular. I still won vs them more than I lost though when I played it. People say demon hunter counters it, but I beat like 8 DHs with it and only lost to one.
all they have to do to fix DK is to actually use the rune system they created. When they announced it, I was like holy crap, that's the best idea they've had in years! Now, you can balance cards by tweaking rune requirements. So lets say for example, we have a card like Helya that's OP. She's not always OP though because if you run her in the double unholy, 1 frost deck which she was intended to be put in, the deck has other exploitable weaknesses. However, blizzard instead is doing the opposite. They listened to the idiots on the forums complaining about how the rune system is bad and "too restrictive", so they just removed rune requirements. Now every DK deck is rainbow and plays the same! Well done blizzard! Rainbow DK was my favorite deck until they buffed it and made it into tier whore shit. People don't even run Climactic Necrotic Explosion anymore. IT'S INSANE! Make Helya double unholy. Make the 5 5 with twisting nether triple blood again so they cant discover it. Nerf The Primus ffs. Titans in general are bad for the game and have overstayed their welcome
Window Shopper's power is alright, you just can highroll Magtheridon, Unreleased so easy because there is a pool of only 11 demons in Standard, but the card will be less consistent as minisets and new expansions come out. What is ridiculous is the mana cheat from Umpire's Grasp. Either reduce the mana discount or increase the cost/durability of the weapon to break it 1 turn later and it will be fine.
Decks I would nerf right now:
- DH and Hunter, the strongest aggro decks
- Wheel Warlock, performs well already and is only going to get stronger as aggro gets weaker.
- Zilliax Rogue, this deck just has a degenerate play pattern
- Zarimi Priest, I don't think it's ok for a fairly potent tempo deck to also have an OTK this powerful.
- Plague DK, has become more frustrating now that Steamcleaner doesn't exist
. Highlander Warrior, this is more of a maybe, I think it's being inflated by countering aggro quite well.
Tbh even if its not one of the best in terms of winrates I really feel like Nature Shaman should be up there, must be because alot of players dont know how to navigate it well + warriors getting away from their OTK with armor. From my own playtesting with it I have a 30+ damage combo ready to go on average turn 7 and often turn 6 and the earliest I've had it is turn 5 way earlier than for example Sif has ever been ready to go a card alot of players have asked to nerf a number of times since its release.
And I do feel that anything that can kill you from full health from hand as early as turn 5 needs to be tuned,
They can actually nerf this situation elegantly by giving umpire’s grasp MORE durability. If it were a 2/3 and the shenanigans didn’t start until turn 5 or 6, I don’t think it would be as ridiculous as it is now.
I think the main offender here is Magtheridon. If DH is unlucky enough to not discover him – both weapon and Shopper looks totally fine. So, simply excluding him from discover pool will solve this whole situation. And we already have similar precedent, when devs make changes, so Climactic Necrotic Explosion can not be discovered or randomly generated.
Why do I get the feeling DH is gonna get nerfed into the ground?
It's the only class that I don't have 1,000 ranked wins with yet and they are finally relevant in the meta after being nonexistent for a long time. :(
Dh will get a op deck again, it's generally a very strong class
