New Hearthstone Patch - The Mech War Tavern Brawl
HELLO HELLO HELLO!! A new Hearthstone patch has appeared on the Hearthstone servers with details on a new tavern brawl!
- TGT is now available to use as a search phrase in the collection manager.
- The bug with opponent cards not showing spell power appears to have been fixed.
- It also appears that Hearthstone has upgraded their engine to Unity 5.
This may not be tomorrow's Tavern Brawl. The Patch is now live.
The Mech War Tavern Brawl
A new tavern brawl is on its way which introduces the Annoy-o-Tron vs Boom Bot Tavern Brawl!
Both of our new mechanic Tavern Brawl heroes have custom emotes, but, they don't actually say anything other than their "EnterPlay" sound effects when any emote is used. If your opponent is playing as Annoy-o-Tron, you may want to hit that squelch button.
New Card Animations
We've recorded a video of all the new card animations added in today's patch. Watch below!
New Animated Card Backs
The ESports Power Core card back has been unveiled in it's animated glory this patch, as has the September ranked play card back, Exodar. You can learn more about the Power Core card back from this blue post.
- Power Core: We can feel the energy in the air. And it's coming from... YOU! Acquired from attending approved eSports events.
- Exodar: The capital city of the draenei is actually a dimensional ship that crash landed on Azeroth after traveling through the Twisting Nether. Despite its wonders and Velen's best efforts, its tourism industry is sluggish due to its remote location (and possibly also the man-eating mutant plants). Acquired from achieving Rank 20 in Ranked Play, September 2015.
New Tavern Brawl Cards
A number of new tavern brawl cards have been added to the game. A lot of old adventure hero powers now have a tavern brawl counter part. Enchantments may be displayed on cards which are on the field, or can be used for some kind of internal tracking. Enchantments don't have associated card images or card text.

Official Patch Notes
Quote from BlizzardGeneral
- The following new card back has been added:
- Exodar – Acquired by reaching Rank 20 or higher in Ranked Play mode during the month of September
- Power Core – Acquired by attending select Hearthstone eSport events.
- The last player dueled will once again show up in the Friends List.
- Typing “TGT” or “The Grand Tournament” in the Collection Manager now correctly filters cards from that expansion.
- Cards that produce other cards now properly create golden versions when used on a target that is a golden card.
- New animations have been added to the following cards: Refreshment Vendor, Sparring Partner, Wilfred Fizzlebang, Fist of Jaraxxus, Icehowl, Crowd Favorite, Aviana, and Rhonin.
- Various audio, visual, and UI issues have been resolved.
Refreshment Vendor still doesn't throw funnel cakes which makes me sad. And even though he probably won't see play Anub'arak deserved a better intro.
I like that power core back. Too bad I won't be able to get it
i bet there'll still be people complaining that this brawl sucks
If it's not a premade deck /r/hearthstone will lose its collective shit.
Just like they do every week you mean?
The Power Core Cardback looks magnificent.
Wondering if there will be a chance to get it when you're living in Germany...
Guess not ._.
Looks good. Can't wait for the x hero is op threads that are coming to this website tomorrow.
This Tavern Brawl looks amazing, but i was hoping for Big Game Hunter vs Dr. Boom
I also wonder what the other hero powers are for?
The Mech War Tavern Brawl will be awesome! #hype
I like those cardbacks, the power core one is really awesome.
What the actual duck is going on? I guess it is going to be a messy brawl tomorrow.
Edit: Just saw that it most likely won't be tomorrows Brawl.
I will be spamming Annoy o-Tron more than Jarraxxus "sorry"
I cannot wait for this!
Woot!
Well that's one nice card effect that I won't be able to get !
Seems like we're gonna have some crazy new brawls...
It could be the recent addition of Pat Nagle to the Hearthstone team.
This Tavern Brawl lmao.
Hopefully more balanced than Ragnaros vs Nefarion and Alleria vs Medivh.
Tbh if there's more crazy brawl like that one with higher hero hp and bigger minion/spell, I wouldn't care much about a bit of unbalance, this is tavern brawl, not a competition.
Rag wasn't unwinnable, just harder and more rng dependent
