Quasi-fits in a No Minion deck?
DK plagues can be re-cast with this too.
I hate the design of this card. Aside from a sub-par stat line and no immediate impact on board (which can be said about lots of cards), this card has no real downside and will probably be included in nearly every DH deck (imo).
It generates tempo, it generates value it has no deck restrictions and doesn't really limit deck design to any extent. The frustration element will also make it really un-fun to play against.
I don't think there is even much risk to playing it as most Demon hunter spells either give attack, do damage or draw cards, and this specifies it will only target enemies. The biggest challenge with this is making sure you don't overdraw and burn something you want.
To people saying it won't go in Big demon huner - I think you're wrong. You'll just change the symmetrical AoE spells to ones that only target your opponent. You'll effectively get twice as many of them and you can probably tutor him out with clever deck design and Abyssal Depths to ensure you get him early.
What this game needed was more Relic of Phantasms and for the DH to be able to cast Fizzle's Snapshot twice.../s
Perfectly Balanced
Okay. Now we are gaming.
I thought DH's direction was going to be Deathrattles (you know, because Argus), which is my favorite keyword, but instead it was...Draw. Such wow. Very impressive.
But this card didn't actually belong to that archetype, cause the other cards want you to draw as much at possible and this takes advantage of just drawing once per turn, which is super weird, but HS is the kind of game that prints the Earthen mechanic with the incredible amount of 2 Earthen generators, so it has sence that the Legendary and the rest of the cards in the set didn't work well together.
The card looks so good that I could play it in Wild without embarassing myself, and that's saying a lot.
This card is so powerful
I agree with you in principle, this card is incredible. I wouldn't be surprised if it's nerfed multiple times over the next few months. However...
... that's just wrong. For one, if there's ever a Control Demon Hunter with symmetric AOE effects, you wouldn't play this, unless your win condition didn't involve playing minions, since you'd just end up nuking your board randomly.
Secondly, and more relevantly, any minion heavy DK deck simply wouldn't get enough value from this to warrant its inclusion. If you have... let's say 8 spells in your deck, you'll likely draw 3 or 4 before Jotun, the Eternal, and then Jotun will autocast 2-4 more spells over the next 5-10 turns, all with random (enemy) targets. That's just not nearly enough value. I think 15 spells is close to the minimum you'd want to play to make Jotun worth including. Which granted, most DK decks are very spell heavy, most run more spells than minions, but that's a different point.
People generally overhype, or at least over-estimate cards on preview, but I genuinely think that this (might) be the strongest DH card ever printed in a vacuum.
There is simply no deck this will not go in, ever. This will, without condition, cheat more mana than almost any card ever printed.
Edit: Oh, and of course cheat card advantage too, as it is casting a copy.
Cmon, Jace just rotated and no one found facing that card fun. Relic DH is already miserable to fight against without cheating mana with a free cast each turn.
Seems like only the already strong classes get strong cards
Another win-condition for Demon Hunter. Another insane-value card.
Relics
and that is why we like it 😌
Now that's a pogchamp.
Bro Sheldras Moontree in fucking shambles
Also Relic DH is already tier 1. Just saying.
This is the type of RNG that can definitely cause frustration.
