I kind of hate to admit it, but it really does look like rogues are getting the short end of the expansion stick this time around. I mean, I don't really play rogue, it's actually one of my least favorite classes to play, but honestly it kind of sucks seeing one class just getting nothing but bad cards revealed one after another. For the record, I think Shadow Sensei is a bad card.

Youthful Brewmaster is a card that is both a drawback and an upside but ... as its not conditional it happens at all times; this is essentially just another Shadowstep as you can control the effect making it a fair turn 2 play but can equally as much be used in the lategame for interesting combos that you would use either Shadowstep or the Youthful Brewmaster for.
And in arena the card is for the most part just another fair 2 drop for rogue to choose from that has potential to be useful for the entire game.
The card is NOT 'bad', it is conditionally playable but not an automatic include in all decks.
This is a great alternative for all those players who don't have Youthful Brewmaster or Shadowstep.

It's main function is to silence off a bunch of effects, but you cannot fully plan around what you make your opponent's minions and using it as an anti n'zoth card isn't even all that effective. You are turning a vanilla 5/7 into a 9 drop and the deathrattle minions just become other minions and aren't removed at all. If you play it to prevent deathrattles from firing, then n'zoth decks will simply add in a secondary wincon against control shaman. In terms of an anti goons or anti synergy card, it's ok, but it's impossible to know just how strong the goons decks are going to be. If they aren't everywhere, it probably won't be worth teching specifically for them.Anyway, in an earlier post, I called this a poor card that might be a tech in a certain meta and I'm sticking to that. There simply aren't enough situations where this card is strong enough to be worth a slot in your deck. -

1) N'zoth paladin, priest, etc.
2) All buffs suddenly become obsolete (they were barely used even before this card)
3) Miracle rogue, all decks that utilize Conceal for buffed minions (even a fun one with Scaled Nightmare).
4) The buffed Grimmy Goons is a joke now, this will not only remove buffs but make your board complete shit, and the tempo you sacrificed to build better board later will be unrecoverable.
i MEAN WHAT IS THIS? WHO DESIGN THIS SHIT?

Aneng posted a message on Why is Rogue soooooooo horrible?Posted in: RogueI just switched from Concede Shaman to Malygos Rogue at Rank 4 and have been having some good success. Rogue is by far my lowest played class, but I have 5 heroes at golden, with Druid and Shaman both 50 wins shy.
I realised as I was playing against a Zoolock that it isn't the complex turns that make Rogue so hard to play, but the knowledge of other decks so you can use your resources effectively. You need a fairly comprehensive knowledge of the meta so that you can assess a deck early and prioritise removal on key minions. More than that, you need to know what their win condition is, and when you can start exploiting that. This means slinging spells at face against MR Shaman because you know that they don't have heals. It means letting your health get low against a priest because you know that their burst capabilities are low, so you can afford to take that extra damage from a minion. You need to consider what your opponents decisions are and play around them before they have even made them. -

Maly rogue demolishes control decks, miracle has all-in potential to win against even the most agressive decks sometimes with Cleef/questing and is decent versus midrange/control. Sure, pure aggro is gonna have a field day with Rogue most of the time but they are rare on ladder, only deck that downright stomps you in the meta is secret Hunter and they're few.
Watch some streams of good Rogues like Shtan Udachi/Ryzen/Dog, play good lists and improve, don't cry on the forums.
I think that the two... erm one, Malyrogue is a myth due to everlasting aggro/midrange meta, competitive deck with exist SOLELY because of one neutral card barely any other deck play (Auctioneer) is the proof Rogue is fine.GEEZ-SUSMate i have no idea what you just said. -

Rogue is extremely powerful. I was about 50/50 vs shaman 70/30 vs Druid almost perfect vs priest, only 1 loss, 80/20 vs warriors 60/40 vs warlock 50/50 vs Mage 90/10 vs pally 50/50 ish against rogue and got stomped by hunters which I happened to run into a lot in the time it took to get my 89 wins that I needed. Hunter. Match up was probably 10/90 maybe a little more in his favour.. From rank 8-4 with maly rogue. Soooo you're just bad?

I play everything from acolytemiracle, standardmiracle, renorogue, n'zothrogue, malyrogue, thistleteaggro, pickpocketrogue, boardclearrogue...
Honestly as bad as rogue is currently, I wouldn't complain if the devs hadn't nerfed flurry. That way we would be able to easily sweep the DOMINANT SHAMAN board and also contend with ZOO as long as we draw the right cards. It would take skill in waiting for the right time to use flurry and shaman would also have to play around it which would make it more skill based. Right now clearing the board for zoo and shaman is very difficult running thalnos/azure drake/fan of knives. Sometimes you need prep&thalnos/azure&fok which is a 3-4 combo card....Having 3 of those when you need to clear board is a pain in the butt. I've resorted to run evolved kobold card just so I can do full clears of those 3health minions with a lower mana usage.
And yes I know we have Dark Iron Skulker but sometimes their minions are damaged, or not all minions have 2 health as above, so its usually RNG running that. Sometimes dark iron skulker & fan of knives combo can do full board clears when they dont expect it but that pretty much takes a full turn.
1. I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU DEVS SUPER-NERFED BLADE FLURRY. IN STANDARD, TINKER IS UNPLAYABLE SO THERE IS NO FEAR FOR MASSIVE BOARD CLEARS and FACE DAMAGE COMBOS. You could have simply nerfed blade flurry by not letting the weapon damage do hero damage and keeping it the same mana cost....but no some intern in your department decided to get his revenge on rogue players who made him cry by making what used to be 2 mana from CLASSIC to 4 FREAKING MANA!!!!
Also the cards they added to supposedly countereffect the nerf is way too slow. Obviously the devs don't play rogue competitively.
Deadly Fork: 3 Mana 3/2 Deathrattle add a 3/2 weapon to your hand. It's almost 6 mana total to get it's complete use.
Southsea Squidface: 4 mana 4/4 Deathrattle give your weapon +2 attack. Same thing as above, way too slow, you need to have a dagger equipped to get full 2 charges out of it. If you have no weapon, your screwed if they kill it next turn and even one charge is pretty useless.
Anyways, I hope you guys learn to make Rogue good again.
