Dofeedtheemu posted a message on Counter to quest warrior?Posted in: General DiscussionShaman. My favorite Shaman deck is Topdecks "Battlecry Shaman." Navigating the early game is all about mitigatiing dmg, setting up Freezepaws and Dredging your Snowfalls. If you get a chain freeze like all board based decks they will just get rolled.
This deck uses a lot of spells and battlecry synergies with School Teacher to finish out games. You get Biolume on one of the Nagaling students and can repeat the battlecry with Brann or Bolner. I hit someone for 28 with one lightning bolt!
I don't have my full stats cus I dont always have a tracker on, but I got 7-1 recorded and 3-0 vs Warrior, but I think I've beat more of them than that. -

razor565 posted a message on Wailing Caverns Mini Set - New CardsPosted in: NewsShaman aren't going to get straight-up card draw, because that's one of Shaman's weaknesses. So instead there's conditional card draw with some relatively minor deckbuilding constraints. Sure, if you play only this on curve, you might break an Elemental chain. But if you're willing to do that, it's probably because you didn't have an Elemental worth playing that turn anyway, so the chain was going to be broken regardless. This way you come out of it with a 2/3 body and a spell, and possibly an Elemental as well. That's pretty good for 3 mana.
Besides which, there's nothing saying you HAVE to play this on 3. You could play it on 4 alongside a Kindling Elemental (or a 2-cost Elemental that previously got discounted by a Kindling).
The card is a little situational, yeah. It isn't an auto-include, and it isn't an auto-play-on-3. That's fine. Even with those caveats, it's a good card.
I respectfully disagree. What is going to determine what makes that a good card is the support it gets with the rest of the mini-set.
If the rest of the shaman cards in the set were just random murlocs (which wouldn't surprise me) then that will not be a good card.
Shaman need some serious help to raise it out of trash tier and that card alone won't do it.
As for the draw weakness statement, check out FortyDusts post on it.I think he is correct.
