posted a message on Onyxia vs Wisps of the Old Gods

Everyone's been running Onyxia because some streamer tried it out and it was decent, therefore the netdecking process began and it landed in nearly every token Druid deck. I prefer Wisps, but Onyxia is fine too (honestly, just try both a couple times and see which you prefer).

posted a message on The card I'd love to see in Mage...

Time-based effects aren't very healthy for the game, just look at all the bugs Nozdormu has (also, as someone who has very unreliable internet at the moment, I disconnect so often that this card would literally lose me the game all the time). As for the spell damage +2, Mage doesn't need this. Freeze Mage would likely run it but as someone who's played a lot of freeze, I can tell you that this card is unnecessary (yes, it'd be a good tool vs CW, but if freeze Mage didn't have a direct counter it'd get out of control and people would complain about it until it got nerfed into the ground). In a tempo deck, there's Frostbolt, Fireball, Forgotten/Roaring Torch, and now Firelands Portal as a whole arsenal of burst. There are also low-cost spell power cards like Cult Sorcerer and Thalnos if you want to cast a lot of cheap spells.

This card is dangerous, anything with +2 spell damage is, and although it costs 6 mana, you get to use all your mana the following turn. The fact that it applies to your opponent as well means very little, considering that any Mage deck running this would also run Ice Block and not have a board of minions to worry about over AoE. Edit: It just occurred to me that the spell damage +2 doesn't apply to your opponent, making this card even more broken than I originally thought.

I do like the idea of legendary spells, however a card like this would be bad for the game.

serious post here.  guys im really desperate for a viable ladder deck, that isn't midrange shaman, hunter, zoo, or any warrior.   I enjoy control/combo decks and hate playing aggro decks.

    im desperate.

I share your feelings towards those decks, I used to enjoy playing some Shaman but after Tunnel Trogg came out it ruined the class for me. It's funny that you mention those 4 classes, because those are literally the exact 4 that I REFUSE to play, they're just boring to me.
Anyway.. for a deck you can use on ladder, I'd try any type of Rogue deck. A lot of people bitch about how bad it is, but when played correctly it's actually quite good. N'Zoth is probably the best on ladder right now. If it doesn't seem to work out, there's always tempo Mage (although most lists right now are pretty aggressive, I play a more midrange version that you might like). What cards are you missing for token Druid? If you have the cards for it, you could play ramp Druid. It's usually got enough taunts to shut down aggro and the list I run has performed well against midrange and control as well (it's super flexible, you can swap out pretty much any of the late game legendaries for other ones that you think will perform better. I personally REALLY like Deathwing in this deck and Rafaam has been better than Ysera).
I'll post lists for these decks, but my last suggestion is N'Zoth Paladin. Most lists are pretty similar so you can just search it up, even though Paladin is considered a weaker class right now, it's still got plenty of tools against a lot of the meta decks. Hope one of these works out for you, and good luck on ladder (don't get discouraged too early, you still have plenty of time left this season).
edit: Druid deck is a little cut-off, obviously the card that you can't see is Innervate.

posted a message on Where will the classes be after Karazhan?

I agree with most of your list but I think that in the middle it's tricky. Druid, Hunter, and Warlock have all been performing amazing on ladder and in tournaments, it's hard to say which is better than which. I predict Warrior and Shaman will stay king, and Priest and Paladin will suffer.

As usual, though, I don't agree that Rogue will be as bad. I think Rogue is in a pretty good spot right now, and I'm excited to try a lot of things with a couple new cards. One deck I really want to experiment with is Questing Rogue, one of the biggest problems is going all in on a Questing Adventurer and running out of cards, but I think Arcane Giant will be perfect for that deck. You'll usually be able to get it 6-mana or lower, and along with the usual threats it will really boost the deck. I'll try Barnes in Miracle and Malygos for sure, and possibly start working on a more control-oriented Rogue list. I've said this a lot, but with the current cards Rogue has access to there are infinite possibilities.

I also brewed up an Onyx Bishop/Resurrect Priest deck that I've been trying on ladder (obviously without Onyx Bishop) and have had the best results I've had with a Priest deck (better than N'Zoth, Control, Dragon, OTK, and C'Thun). Albeit my sample size is a little lower, I've still managed to face all of the meta decks and a couple of the general rough matchups (Rogue in particular). I think there's actually a lot of potential with Onyx Bishop, more so than Resurrect alone because you can actually run 4 "Resurrects" now, meaning that it's easier to build a deck around. Also the synergy with Barnes is fantastic.

I've been working on Control Mage, with the new secret card and Babbling Book. I really loved the battlecry/Duplicate control Mage with Brann and Scarabs, I think there are enough tools to push a similar deck like that back into existence. Obviously I'll be trying Arcane Giants in Tempo Mage, but I'd rather make a less-common archetype to play around with first.

The Curator-Midrange Paladin is another deck I'm excited for. I've constructed a list that has a similar play-style to the old Midrange Paladin, and I think it has a lot of potential. Zoobot is going to be a lot better than people predicted, as long as it's in the right deck.

I theorycrafted beast Druid (like everyone else has, I'm sure) but I'm kind of disappointed there weren't any big minions or spells that pushed Ramp Druid. I'll try Moonglade Portal in my Ramp list but I doubt it will make the cut over another solid-drop.

I've kind of just rambled on about my ideas.. oops. I think the classes will be in this "order": Warrior, Shaman, Hunter/Druid, Warlock, Mage, Rogue/Paladin, and finally Priest. Rogue and Paladin are tied, but I think they're both in a decent spot and still miles ahead of Priest, which is disappointing. Not only is Priest the worst class, it's the worst class by a huge amount. Hopefully I'm wrong and Priest starts to catch up.. but even though Onyx Bishop and Priest of the Feast are pretty good cards, they're not what Priest needs to get ahead.

edit: Well, this post ended up way longer than I intended, sorry for going totally off-topic.

I think it is the class challenge. From what I've seen the first wing has Priest of The Feast and Onyx Bishop as a reward, so hopefully none of us have to get Purify!

OMG could we move on finally? Demonfuse was much worse, Poisoned Blade was much worse, and I could go on. Its not even the worst card of the set, could you guys please stop these QQ threads and accept that priest got a shitty card?

That's not comparable at all. Those cards came from an EXPANSION, where each class got 9 cards. Both Warlock and Rogue were doing well at the time, and you know what's just as bad as either of those cards? The cards Priest got from TGT (Convert, Confuse, and Power Word: Glory). Another difference is that Priest has been the laughing-stock of Hearthstone since Standard released, it's been addressed to Blizzard numerous times, and they've commented on it. It's by FAR the lowest-tier class (and the figurative gap between the bottom class, Priest, and the second-bottom class, Paladin, is much larger than the figurative gaps between top-tier classes like Shaman and Warrior). Their response was to print this card. However, the biggest difference here is that this is an adventure: where each class only gets 3 cards. Frankly, it's embarrassing for Blizzard that they chose to use Purify to take up a slot.

Any 2-drop for Priest would've been welcomed. The more I think of how much I love Huckster, the more I wish Priest had a card like that. Even as a 2/2, if it had a deathrattle that did SOMETHING relevant, Priest would already be in a better spot.

Do you think that just the 2 Swashburglars and Hucksters is enough to justify running 2 Peddlers? I get that it's a Pit Fighter at worst, but still I don't think that's good enough. Also, not running double SI:7 Agent in Rogue is a bad idea (especially in a meta like this), I can't even imagine it. I don't think the Polluted Hoarder is necessary, I'd for sure run a second SI. Other than that, this is pretty much identical to what I'm gonna try. I'll probably just revert back to Miracle or Maly afterwards, but who knows, this might be fun (or good).

I'm not usually one to butt-in on pointless online arguments, but I'm just going to give you some advice. If you want people to respect you as a deckbuilder, you shouldn't sling around insults because people are giving you constructive criticism. They're right, it's ridiculous that people are posting decks that are anything other "Hey, this is what I'm going to try when the adventure comes out. Thoughts? What will you try?" This is nothing but a theory and people said the same when they saw cards like Fist of Jaraxxus and Dark Bargain, although the synergy is there you can't predict how good it'll be (and as a result, can't post a guide ESPECIALLY considering the FIRST WING isn't even out yet).

Secondly, "When Malchezaar's ImpSilverware Golemgot announced i immediately campe up with that idea" isn't something you should have in your deck description. Everyone thought of that, it's not like you're the only person competent enough to read the word "discard."

Finally, back to my first paragraph, you bashed someone (that you don't know anything about) for being rank 5 (which you just assumed). I hope you realize that most of the people that look around at decks on Hearthpwn are probably rank 18-10, and rank 5 is good. Now before you bash me for being "just another scrub, not a 'high legend player' like you," I play Rogue to legend every season, my own list, and I don't feel the need to point it out in every conversation in order to assert my online status.

TL;DR: You make a deck like this, before the adventure is even close to being released, ask for upvotes for a guide, then essentially tell people they're bad at the game and they're stupid in the comments.. no one is going to want to try your deck if you keep acting like this. Gain some respect and stop thinking you're some master deckbuilder/player because you manage to get top 100 or something with some netdeck.

posted a message on New Priest Card - Purify

The worst part about this card is that they're valuing drawing a card at over 2 mana. Silence costs 0 mana and can target anything, this card costs 2 mana and can only target friendly minions, but draws a card. So if it could target all minions it'd most likely be valued (by Blizzard) at 2.5 mana. Even then, you're paying 2.5 mana to DRAW A CARD (if you didn't care about the card, you'd just play Silence for 0 mana). Absolutely horrendous. What on Earth were they thinking?

posted a message on Poll: Worst of the Worst

None of these are "poorly designed cards," they're just bad. Examples of poorly designed cards include Tuskarr Totemic, which is poorly designed because it's got an extremely relevant RNG factor on turn 3, a very early turn to gain an advantage. I'm not sure how to word that better, but the fact that it can summon a Totem Golem or Mana Tide Totem on turn 3 (or just a normal 0/2 or 1/1), is just unhealthy for the game. The cards in this poll are unique, and generally bad, but not poorly designed.

    Quote from DragonConsort >>

You don't understand, it isn't random minion as someone already said.  You can choose any friendly minion that died and resummon it.  They killed your ragnaros?  Well it comes back in addition to this 3/4 body.  If I am understanding the text correctly, this could be the strongest card in the entire set.

That's not how it works. Just because it doesn't say random doesn't mean it works like that, I can't remember which card but there was a huge debate about this in a recent expansion. It's not like you could play this card and get a pop-up of 14 minions that died and choose one, that'd be a whole new mechanic they'd have to program in (and it's much more likely they'd make it a discover mechanic). This has nothing to do with the card text but Priest will rarely live long enough to play Ragnaros and Resurrect it with this.

The bishop is a good card, but not what Priest needs. Same with the 4-drop. Both will probably still see some play but I'm extremely disappointed. Purify is the stupidest thing I've ever read, the Corrupted Scrolls card that Eloise posted would be better (and that's saying something).

But I mean, it really isn't that good. 3 mana 3/4 is already standard. Rez is 2 mana. The only advantage it has is combining two cards. That isn't strong enough. 4 mana 3/4 with rez, closer to what Priest needs to turn around. 5 mana I expected at least a 4/5.

Without any new class early game which in general are more powerful and tend to be staples of good decks, priest is still confined to obscurity. Honestly with the next expansion if priest got nothing but 0-4 cost cards they'd still find a way to completely fuck it up.
It could've been at least a 3/5 or 4/4. Blizzard always gives other classes over-stated minions for their effect. I get that the Resurrect mechanic is a tricky one to balance but it wouldn't kill them to give Priest an "unfair card," especially considering it still wouldn't help Priest at all.
