What is your purpose for gastropod? And what do you think about Edwin in this deck?

mana tide, tol'vir stoneshaper, jinyu waterspeaker, master of evolution, 2nd storm, are each viable options depending on what you are encountering a lot on ladder.

tbh i slotted in a spirit echo myself in place of one of the blazecallers because there are some really juicy echo targets with stonehill, servant, kalimos, and even the hot spring guardians.

as for the game plan, you have to remember that while we have decent value to hang with control decks, we do not want to try to win in the long game. the key to our tempo strategy is to only make efficient trades until you open yourself up a window to start going face. if you trade too much you will eventually get out valued. at some point during the mid game you need to really observe how your win condition is shaping up and prepare to shift gears, for example by setting up a 2-3 turn lethal.

i would go with either tol'vir stoneshaper, jinyu waterspeaker, or master of evolution. jade chieftain is inefficient imo as he is not only more expensive than aya, he doesn't do enough for jades when all we have are jade claws and jade lightning.

tol'vir fits in nicely at the 4 mana slot along with the phoenix and can give you extra defense against aggro. but i think in this tempo deck the master of evolution contributes more to our strategy as he is not only a solid state line but also evolves your elementals, jade golems, and totems. elementals generally have weak stat lines due to their battlecries, so you can be quite confident that they will evolve nicely.

yeah reason i posted (19-0) in the title was because i was genuinely surprised at how strong the deck was against the present meta. i honestly had never had a run that good before, especially on a legend run. however, the un'goro meta has been extremely fluid, shifting quite drastically week to week as players respond to the "hot decks". ele shaman wasn't in a very good place initially when quest rogue and quest warrior were dominating the meta in the early weeks. but as long as those decks take more of a back seat, ele shaman will comfortably feed on all of the aggro druids, token shamans, hunters etc.

kalimos is the most powerful card in the deck. i think if you're going to run elise instead, you might as well ditch the tempo strategy and go for full-on control with double devolve and max aoe (portal, storm, volcano). you probably should also include jinyu for heal and spirit echo for value (stonehill, jinyu, elise, white eyes, servant are all awesome echo targets).

tol'vir stoneshaper, jinyu waterspeaker, and master of evolution are each playable midgame alternatives. tol'vir obviously has synergy with the elementals and is a good anti-aggro tech choice. jinyu is good if you see a lot of mages. master of evolution is a more proactive tempo choice than tol'vir as the 4/5 body offers more pressure plus elementals are understatted minions that make for solid evolution targets.

he's only worth crafting if you absolutely have your heart set on playing c'thun. without twin emperor c'thun decks go from borderline viable to just plain bad.

that being said, twin emperor may have lost brann but is still viable in evolve shaman where he is similar to doppelgangster. twin emperor + evolve gives you double 8 mana minions for 8 mana, which is the strongest mana slot in the game (tirion, rag, etc). when you add spirit echo into the mix, you've got some serious value potential.

posted a message on Shaman players, what cards make you want to kill yourselves?

Ice block has got to be the most annoying card ever created. I don't know how many times I've completely dominated a mage, beating them at the game of "hearthstone", but they won because they played multiple copies of a dumb card that temporarily changes the rules of hearthstone. Ice block is like when you're a kid and play rock paper scissors and the other kid makes up a 4th option such as "volcano" that is unbeatable by either rock paper or scissors. it's such a dishonorable card!

and speaking of dishonorable cards, I'd say drakonid OP takes the runner up for me for most annoying cards. that mf always steals my most valuable cards and there's no way to play around him. I've lost to crap like a surprise bloodlust or kalimos.

posted a message on Is C'thun Druid still good?

I recently (about a week ago) piloted a c'thun druid fun deck from rank 10 to rank 5 in the span of a few hours. It was surprisingly stronger than expected! Earthen scales may be awesome in jade druid, but c'thun is the dream combo with this card! It's basically like brann + shieldbearer from the old c'thun warrior glory days. stonehill defender is also great in this deck as it has an awesome shot at getting you an extra dark arakkoa. it's even saved me games against pirate warriors and aggro druids when i was able to get the ironbark protector off him.

    Here's my full list:

2x innervate, 2x wild growth, 2x earthen scales, 2x wrath, feral rage, 2x disciple, 2x twilight elder, 2x stonehill, 2x swipe, fandral staghelm, 2x klaxxi, spellbreaker, 2x nourish, 2x druid of the claw, 2x dark arakkoa, ancient of war, twin emperor, c'thun

twilight elder is an awesome turn 1 innervate play. fandral is a MUST include imo. even if you don't get to trigger any of your choose one's, he still forces your opponent to spend resources (often inefficiently) to deal with him.

klaxxi is best played as a 4/10 but even innervated out early as a 4/5 is still a very strong play. i teched in spellbreaker because mulch is gone and naturalize is just a terrible card. the current meta is great for spellbreaker with all of the buffs and deathrattles around. i almost always had a decent target for him, including my own frozen minion against mage.

2x nourish is a MUST imo with azure drake rotated out. i also much prefer druid of the claw over firebat's list which runs crazed worshiper. you have more than enough c'thun activators in this deck and the druid of the claw provides more power and flexibility, plus the fandral synergy. being able to create a 4/4 charge for lethal or dealing with a murloc warleader is vital.

ancient of war replaces the rotated out ragnaros firelord and although not as powerful, still has great synergy with the deck. even though you almost never get to play it with fandral, it's still awesome to go for the 10/5 uproot along with earthen scales and gain 11 or 23 armor. but most often you slam him down as a 10 health taunt.

it's a fun deck to play but definitely requires skill in planning out your next 2-3 turns ahead of time and how to best manage your mana with wild growth and innervate, when to nourish, etc.

in my experience fire plume harbinger is a weak card. it's only really powerful if you get the discount on 4 or more elementals. but i think you give up too much tempo with such a weak body. it can essentially be ignored by your opponent. furthermore, that is the worst topdeck in the late game.

i'd probably cut both harbingers for a mana tide and either a 2nd blazecaller or maybe devolve to help counter all the paladins and aggro druids that have hit the ladder recently.

i personally just hit legend with my own custom elemental shaman and i run double stonehill defenders which i've found to be very flexible and offers insane value. he helps with card draw and due to the class bonus you have an awesome shot at discovering al' akir, hot spring guardian, white eyes, etc. i'll post my decklist because it's very different than most elemental shamans and I believe I've found the right recipe for the current meta.

this deck looks like it could be prone to topdecking situations a lot with the lack of card draw. have you considered mana tide totem or stonehill defenders?

why run 2x kobold geomancer if the only card that benefits from it is lightning storm? 99% of the time it's just a 2 mana 2/2 which is atrocious. i could understand it if you also ran maelstrom portal, jade lightning, lightning bolt, etc
