if you are tavern tier 3 and upgrade to tav 4 you get to choose 3 minions from tavern tier 4. So you get 3  guaranteed highest tier minions available to you this run. You get to pick the best of 3 or the one that works best for your comp. So I think it IS doing what you want it to do.

the premium you pay for the 3 gold is that you get to pick from 3 minions at that tier level and not just any 3 minions up to that tier level. You don't always roll high tier minions so the guarantee is why you pay the premium in both cases. Even if we compare to pre nerf toki and say 1 gold to guarantee a high tier minion. ok now it is 3 gold to guarantee 3 high tier minions, so it is as valuable as pre nerf toki from the perspective of more high tier options to choose from. Yes, you have to take one of them, but you are also getting 3 rolls up front instead of over 3 turns which means more upfront time to work into your build rather than finding the workaround card on your third roll. You have the option at every tavern up which keeps you relevant throughout the game. Sometimes you will not get a minion that works super well with your comp, but a lot of the best players keep their comp flexible through most of the game anyway right up until like top 4 where they are just improving on what they have and dramatic change is a lot less likely. To me, it seems like elise's passive is really strong. I'll have to play with it a bunch to see how it works in practice but 3 minions of your highest available tier means you will probably find something that is relevant or at least a stat monster to use so you stay on curve. Maybe I'm too optimistic on the rolls but I think this is either very well balanced or too strong.

I thought it was pretty ok or strong before, but when you mentioned pre nerf toki and I thought about the comparison, that is what made me think of it as being even stronger. It is legit 1:1 value of PRE nerf toki but it is all up front and while you don't have the option to buy every card you still see more than you would have from toki on average. If you go to 6 with elise you get 5 rolls so you look at 15 cards and pick 5. With pre nerf toki you probably won't get 15 rolls in a game and I don't know how many minions on average pre nerf toki players were buying that were the high tier minion from the lineup.

However, toki did also roll the entire roster. So I dunno, I'm thinking while I am typing so this may be disjointed. lol. I think it is probably pretty balanced, it looks neat and overall BG is pretty fun. I think the gamble aspect and picking from 3 at a time gives the chance of a really high upshot that is worth picking her. Maybe she won't be as S tier as i'm fantasizing about but I'm hoping for a solid A tier and not a dumpstery hero. We'll see. Thanks for the comment, gave me something to chew over in my head. cheers : )

Very strong but very low value. I don't think it will be played much but if pally can draw enough cards and beat people on turn 4/5 then maybe this is used just to add up the damage in the early game and stay on the board. but then you add the tax of playing dragons and it seems weak. so with like an agro dragon in the pally pool and the neutral pool this might see play but they'd need to be pretty stronk

This card might be too strong. We don't know what the meta will look like so it's hard to sum up how strong this card will be. What we do know is that the rogue quest can act as limitless removal so that deck has an insane amount of value. This card is adding another source of limitless removal to the mix and it's even more aggressive than the quest. So rogue has potential to make a deck that leans into the value of these 2 cards enabling the rest of the deck to be very flexible. I think this will open up rogue a lot and maybe bring them back. Maybe this card being legend will make it too unreliable but it seems like picking this up early could be a high roll win type thing. Some decks only win their high roll games and if you are playing this card then you probably want a decent bit of draw but you do have the quest most likely so you'll go through opening hand plus 2 mulligans plus 5 draws looking for this. We'll see. Seems like a high roll card that opens up rogue a bit. Something about it scares me though, like I could see it being nerfed to a 5/5 or a 7/4 lol.

Seems like a flexible bomb. I imagine the way it works is that it Enters and deals it's damage to every other minion in play and then gets hit back by them all as well. So it is essentially a board clear that sometimes lives (via tricks or b/c there isn't 12 dmg in play.) I think this is just an auto include in non agro warrior.

Very high value card. Maybe a highlander variant will want it. Not sure where it fits but it seems like it's almost strong enough so maybe a few dragon synergies make it worthwhile.

This seems extremely powerful to me. Control style mage deck with removal only struggles when they can't do anything BUT removal. This is a very efficient card that has synergy with apprentice (reducing this to zero not aiding in proc'ing it) and flamewaker while also allowing you to have turns where you clear/freeze the enemy board AND generate massive tempo. I think this is a win and I look forward to seeing how mage shapes up in the future.

Seems like people are underrating this card. We'll see, but it seems very strong staple for dragon control type decks. This helps you stick to the board and I'm assuming this will be something that lets you get back or get ahead on the board. I think people are not correctly valuing dealing 8 damage split between 2 minions (equally). It has potential, certainly amazing in arena, to be played in standard for decks that need a higher dragon count and want more access to removal tools. I think this will be especially valuable in highlander style decks.

I'm fairly positive the meaning of "cast" instead of "put" is that the card is tutoring a secret from your deck and then casting the secret into play. so on 4 you play this, hero power and end the turn with a secret in play. However, it is a secret that you have cast. So when you zul'jin that secret gets cast again b/c it was a spell you previously played. This card is thinning your deck and putting obstructions into play to hinder your opponent. It is cheap and reliable. I think this card is a serious contender based on the thinning/tutoring it enables. If it survives a turn then you get to thin 2 secrets from your deck that act as if you played them yourself. That seems incredibly powerful since it is also just a solid curve, and beast, play in hunter... seems very very solid to me

Yeah I guess I wasn't super clear in my response about why I was even posting. I wasn't saying the card is bad b/c tech options exist. I was just saying I expect the amount of these tech cards being seen in the meta to rise if these 0/3's become popular. I also said I expect some of them to become popular b/c I think they are good. And the first couple of weeks people will be testing out these synergy decks using the champions and the spirits so I'm guessing void ripper will be everywhere until settling back down to a reasonable, yet still more frequent, % of the meta. I just think void is a useful enough tech card to not be used primarily for spirits but to also be there to kill spirits when needed and that its use will go up b/c this set is giving it something to target in literally every class.

There are multiple ways to bring things back to life. Seems to be a lot of disrespect for this card when it just looks like a solid resurrect or cube minion. Has immediate board impact through taunt and/or rush. If it can be cheated out in any way and res'd it's busted at controlling the board and stalling while you make your board bigger and bigger. Multiple classes do this right now. I think it's a good card that will see some play in constructed and a ton in arena.

@quicksand, your argument seems to fall VERY flat. Mossy was a huge meta tech card before inventor was nerfed and it was in all forms of decks that had the slot and weren't some form of over the board face/otk. Stampeding Kodo has seen play in many metas as a very viable tech mostly against defensive cards that had low attack, high health and taunt. Void ripper see's play in most aggro decks as a counter to the very same type of defensive cards, ones with low attack high health and taunt.

This set is bringing very powerful 0/3's with stealth to every class that have innate synergy with their new classes legendary cards. It is extremely likely that some of the spirits will see a lot of play and that decks will compensate by using the previously mentioned cards as tech/removal tools. I expect void ripper to be a 1 or 2 of in a majority of the meta. It is already played in aggro decks as a way to turn their own defensive minions into offensive minions for a burst push b/c most aggro decks run some form of light weight taunts to protect their small minion board. So aggro can afford to run ripper as it is a win condition for many of them and control can afford to run ripper as it is removal tool for many of them. Some control decks will opt for mossy instead, but decks like druid that run spreading plague often run a copy of ripper for the same potential burst damage combo that aggro decks use it for. Yes void ripper can sometimes be a dead card, but more often it is such a highly versatile card that it fits into most archetypes without being a low value or targeted tech card that it becomes core for some classes and we can expect that number to rise in the future.
