Zoo is an Aggro Warlock deck.  It uses lots of little minions to try to kill the opponent as fast as possible.  It's popular because it's fast, reliable, and cheap to build.

    For example:

    Pyro's Season 5 Legendary Zoo
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (27) Ability (3)
    Loading Collection

Zoo is not an aggro deck, it is a control deck. It used small minions for tempo and life tap for a draw engine. it fights to control the board not win as fast as possible.

This is why I prefer the term aggro-contol.

control = Zoo + control pally is to wide of a definition to be useful imo.

Id rather zoo be called aggro-control while face hunter is aggro-face. Both are agressive decks but they function differently. just like control pally and zoo are control decks but function differently.

If i could only pick 1 term I would use control but it doesnt get the point across well enough imo.

Zoo is an Agro-Control deck imo

You want to hit face but you prioritize clearing boards with efficient trades if you can and use "excess damage damage your opponent cant deal with" to attack face.

Compared to hunter which is an Agro-Face deck

Hitting face is prioritized over trades unless the trade is VERY important

posted a message on Hearthpwn IRC Channel

Im just curious. Is there a hearthpwn IRC channel? Also, would anyone be interesting in starting up and IRC chanel  pending site owner approval if there isnt one?

Maybe im old fashioned but using IRC for finding ringers for Counter Strike games worked so well and I figure alot of users here with no real life hearthstone friends would love it (I just got my first 3 days ago). #Foreveralone

Its so nice as you can just hop in the channel and find people to play with and its real time vs having "add my on bnet" threads."

If someone only wants to do a ft5 they can play you, delete you from their list and move on.

There is no "waiting for the guy that said we should play" to log on. Just play with the first person who wants to play.

You could even specify classes/decks you want to play vs "Looking for Warlock:Zoo Anyone available?"

If you want to play zoo you will get all willing players that have zoo decks.

Anyone else interested in something like this?

Nothing to fancy just control warrior. Missing Gromm, Alex, Geddon, 2x Shield Slam, 1-2x Brawl, 1x Gorehowl...

Needless to say im faaar from crafting it.

For pretty much any other deck im missing 1 legendary if even one legendary at the most and an epic or 2 so the rest are very reasonable to craft.

Good game [Fuck you but I am forced to shake your hand]

Good game [Sick game man you plated like a champ]

Anyone that has played sports in will know what I mean.

Good game means nothing unless there is emotion behind it.

With emotes there is no emotion. its just a cheap formality. It means nothing.

    Myself:

I dont think someone needs to give a greetings unless they want to.

I dont think someone needs to give a "good game" unless they want to.

I think it is polite to say GG and WP.

posted a message on Hearthstone could benefit more from the addition of "instants" than nerfs.

Note: I realize that this forum is not the place to make balance threads that blizz will see. This is only a casual thread for discussion.

Honestly the solution to alot of the synergy/combo decks would be instants. Here is a basic explanation for anyone that hasn't played MTG.

    http://mtg.wikia.com/wiki/Instant

Rather than nerf cards, add cards. Add "instant" cards IMO

I am not a current MTG player. I played it casually over 10 years ago. Im just thinking about something that could benefit the game.

I realize blizz does not want to include "your opponent discards x cards" from the game.

But is there any reason to not have instants? The inter-player reaction is so interesting.

I understand I need to keep them out of molten range and burst them but I find myself making dumb mistakes [keeping them within life-tap range of giants, using the wrong removals]

Here are the decks I play if it helps:

    depends on your likings...

but hunter + bloodlust shaman is probably the next cheapest thing

or any aggro/midrange decks of your choice

    I agree.

After zoo the next deck I made when I started was shaman. I crafted a doomhammer and left out bloodlust but bloodlust shaman is defenitley the next "cheap but solid" deck. Shaman as a whole is a good secondary class as doomhammer is the only epic and the only legendary is usually al'akir which is optional.

Next I made hunter and that is also dirt cheap. After the nerf hunter is still viable (especially for a beginner) but it cost a minimum of 200 dust extra as all viable hunter decks I know of post nerf run 2x Eaglehorn Bow. Also before you could make a trapless deck but now its in most decks [traps are commons though so not too expensive]

If you are curious about the future, Priest was the next deck I made as I think it is the cheapest mid cost deck. You only need 2 epics "Cabal shadow priests" and 2 legendaries.

Sylvanas [Can be replaced with mind control, faceless manipulator; Shadow word death/shadow madness worst case]

Cairne [Can be replaced with Sunwalker].

I am astounded that after THIS many replies not one person noticed this guy was clearly trolling... I mean c'mon... I am disappointed.

Because it might not be a troll and is a legitimate complaint? Everyone on the internet isn't 13 nor do they possess the mental maturity of a 13 year old [Iv never understood why people enjoy trolling, sarcasm is enough]

The previous posts nailed it. Casual MMR never resets and alot of people spend more time in ranked than casual. They may be testing new decks or completing daily quests for classes they dont want to play on ladder.

When they do play casual prepare to experience much better decks/player skill than you might expect with it being called "Casual"

posted a message on Tips for a New F2P Player

I know you are trying to do this F2P but I will always tell people that are starting. If you can save up for nax... only $5 a week of [allowance/salary/fast foot & bar money] do it. the difference between buying nax money in packs while farming gold for compared with the flipped way of doing it is SIGNIFICANT.

Also spending a full month farming gold for cards when you could be running the arena and having fun playing the game seems silly.

Unless you seriously cant save $25 in a month in any way [Its no problem if you can't everyone has different circumstances] it is an awful idea to think "Hearthstone is F2P so I shouldn't spend a dime."

Im 1.5 Months in and F2P other than buying naxx and I cant imagine grinding naxx gold as a beginner. I started grinding gold then I said fuck it and bought the wings after saving gold for a week with nothing to show.

Otherwise, my only other tip is do a TON of research into the arena. Make sure you understand tempo, card advantage, usefulness of card draw, and stats of efficient and inefficient minions of equal mana cost [aka why magma rager sucks and why senjin is boss].

Those are some of the most basic things I feel are important for beginner level arena that helped me learn to draft and play arena in the 1.5 months I'v been playing.

posted a message on Legendary Tier Crafting Guide

Got another question. So I was planning to DE leroy and craft thalnos but I just pulled Thalnos from a pack so I have all of the tier 1 Legendaries + Sylvannas as of now.

Im thinking about dusting him to make Al'Akir as that is the one card I'm missing for shaman and now I have the chance to snag him without having to save up [Im currently at 0 dust.

At the same time I thought about crafting Alexstraza/Ysera/Harrison Jones but I feel like they are all useless for the decks I currently play and have the epics for [Secret mage, Tempo Priest, Ramp Druid, Zoolock, Midrange Shaman]. Harrison seems like the only immediately useful one but he is situational.

I'm so far away from the necessary legendaries for Control Warrior, so crafting my next legendary for that seems useless. And the next deck im closes to is pally but im missing tirion + epics and blues.

Should I just craft Al'akir to complete my shaman deck when I dust leeroy or is that not worth it? It would be a big boost for that deck but it would only help shaman and shaman alone.

Then again maybe I could use Ysera in Ramp and Control Priest so maybe thats a better choice?

I guess its Al'akir helps shaman

Ysera - Possible to add/Modify my decks at no additional cost for Control priest and Ramp druid

Harrison - Any deck but situational.

Alex - Seems useless in all of my decks and I lack the cards to make a control deck she thrives in.

hmm after writing down my though process now im leaning towards Ysera lol. I have no idea.

Here is everything I need crafting wise that iv jotted down in my "to craft list" if it helps

Order of importance for main classes

    1.

    2. Tempo Priest 2nd Cabal Shadow Priest

    3. Ramp Big game hunter

    4. Secret Mage [1x Counterspell, 2x Kirin Tor Mage]

    ------
    To Dust
    Leeroy [1600 dust]

    -------

    Future LEgendaries to craft

To complete Shaman: Al'Akir the windlord

    Alexstraza
    Geddon
    Ysera
    HArrison

    Long term goal: Control Warrior
missing class cards: Grommash, 2x Shield Slam, 1x Brawl, 1x Gorehowl

    -------

    Current Dust:
