posted a message on Tech - EMP Operative

EMP Op is a pretty terrible card.  You could just run big game hunter or spellbreaker and get similar result and those cards are much more useful against every other deck.  Zilliax is the only mech you see a lot and there are cheaper ways to kill it with it having only two health.

posted a message on Leeroy is THE problem actually

    nah.

when a deck is a strong as tempo rogue is, you start to feel like every card is broken.  Stuff like Leeroy and Sap aren't broken but they "feel" like it when rogue is already so far ahead after slapping your shit.

It's the raiding party package that tips rogue over the edge.  raiding party draws you great tempo cards with great synergy that curves out perfectly.  Think about how good master's call made midrange hunter, now consider if you could play every one of the cards you draw over the next two turns and have them all be hugely impactful.

which nets you approx. a legendary over the course of a year.

however as these events are rather rare i don't really think its a loss within the bigger frame.

    Quote from fugbucker >>

10g per day is about 36 packs/year . for most players this is pretty significant

This is assuming you are forced to do a 50g quest every day, which wouldn't be the case.  But i'll concede that more gold is always better so do you're thing.

if you have three quests just do one of them, lol.  it's 10 gold difference which is like 4 dust from a normal 40 dust pack. Micromanaging it on that level is excessive and if you know you can be punished in this manner then it's possibly a net loss.

posted a message on The Pepper Thread - Share your good vibes!

Been playing Miracle mage decks and these are fucking fun.

this game that just happened was against someone using the normal slow dragon summoner mage

We both just fiddled around hero powering the first few turns, I drop bannana buffoon on 3 into giant on 4.  He voodoo dolls it.  Seeing the voodoo doll gone I drop questing adventure and sorcerer's apprentice and go in with some one mana spells and an elemental evocation into mana cyclone at the end so i had a full hand of random spells.  The questing adventure was an 8/8 at the end or something like that.  I played a mirror image knowing i risked playing into mc tech but that was a 1/4 and if he had the dragon worm thing then he could just kill the questing adventurer with that + his 3/2 on board.

Of course he steals the 8/8 questing adventurer and puts a taunt on it and throws in some emotes.  I drop a second sorcerer's apprentice and stargazer luna and cycle through more than half my deck over the next two turns, freezing all his shit.  Killed the 11/11 questing boi with tokens + a random generated fireball, play a cheap giant for one mana and it sticks because of freezes + mirror's image taunts  Then on turn 8 I khadgar double conjurer's calling it and all of a sudden he doesn't want to emote anymore and now he's dead.

These miracle summoner mage decks are stupid fun.  I'm playing one with Vex Crow, sea giant, scarab eggs that is pretty spicy and one with questing adventurer, antonidas, etc.

posted a message on Is boom master flark worth it?

It's worth it for that deck, yes.  It's important for the last push of pressure in games that last long enough to play it.  Not only do you make a board that generates 8 damage if you clear it, but you develope a 5/5 that has to be dealt with and you have four tokens to magnetize or buff.  Nobody can say for sure if mech hunter will stay a thing all year but it should remain a solid deck.  If you're super hard up on dust then you could consider waiting until the nerfs in case warrior gets deleted from the meta since countering warrior is really the thing that pushes towards the front of the pack.

It's funny because everyone memed about the new Boom being so much better (and on a standalone basis it is), but after things have settled Flark is the one in a better deck because magnetize synergy and pushing burst is more important for mech hunter than any warrior.

posted a message on The state of HS standard format...

I like a couple of the decks out right now.  The miracle style summoner mage is super fun and I like big shaman.  Tempo rogue is actually fun to play and after it gets nerfed you can play it without feeling like a bully taking someone's lunch money.

I don't really like the lack of combo decks.  All the combo disruption people were whining for during boomsday and Rumble is finally here but they have no reason to use it.

    Quote from iFaisal11 >>

This is the case, you don't need to maximize the damage, nor think hard or anything, the strategy is basic and everyone know it, but even with that fact they can't stop it, in aggro you can still make missplays and crush your opponent, the opposite for other archetypes.

you can make huge misplays and win as control, how can you even say that?

    Quote from Narg >>

Well arguably as control games last longer you have more decisions to make, and a better player should be able to capitalize on that by taking the right decision more often, so control decks should have a higher skill cap.

That being said, if the OP keeps losing with control against aggro, maybe there's a problem...

Not necessarily.  When playing aggro the small decisions are very impactful and can decide the game and it takes skill and experience to recognize them.  There are some control games where you both know you're going to fatigue so you just hero power pass or throw down one card to not burn it and then the game is decided by your Archivist cards, hagatha cards, boom hero powers, Hecklebot pulls, etc.  And some control vs aggro games play themselves.  You just curve out removals and they run out of stuff.  Playing Dynomatic on 5 is a lot easier than building a board from turn one that can deal with a dynomatic on 5.

I think control warrior and shaman right now have a decent skillcap, but if you think back to odd warrior for example, many aggressive decks require much more thought than that one card per turn deck.

this is a really pretentious wall of text man.

control is just a different archetype.  It doesn't inherently require any more skill to pilot than an aggressive deck.  Some aggro decks are easy to pilot but the same can be said for control.  Some aggro decks require skill and forward thinking.  Skill comes from fundamentals and matchup knowledge.

There are quite a few good non aggro decks right now.  bomb war, control war, big shaman, control shaman, mech paladin, miracle mage, summoner mage, midrange hunter, nomi priest.  How many aggro decks are there? Tempo rogue, bomb hunter, token druid, murloc shaman, zoolock...? that's all that comes to mind.

posted a message on We don't need any nerfs this expansion

"if a deck can be countered, then it is not overpowered and doesn't need a nerf"

this is flawed logic and makes it seem like you just don't understand how balancing a meta is supposed to work.

Tempo rogue has one counter deck, in one class.  It has positive matchups across the board otherwise, which isn't ok.  Many decks worse than this have been nerfed.

I have a full standard collection and i've played these decks and their counters.  I'm laddering with Rogue right now, so there is no salt involved.  Your post is full of strawman arguments.
