Legend does not strictly come down to a time amount like people are saying. You need actual skill at the game. Even if you played for 12 hours a day for 30 days and you only had a 50% win rate, you still might not get Legend.
Agree that Legend is a grind, but do not be fooled into thinking that everyone can get there. If you can get to rank 5 with ~65% win rate in a reasonable amount of time, you should be able to get there. However, win rate is a tricky concept to play with as well. Even if you got to Rank 5 with a 65% win rate, doesn't mean you're going to keep a 65% win rate against better players. This rate can EASILY drop below 50% if you don't understand the game at rank 5.
@Nyandell, I would always do that with Feral Spirit and Lightning Storm. Think I'm going to throw out 2 taunts and then clear his empty board and overload myself for 2.... Concede....
LOL I had a good Exodia Mage one. Played all the way to the end, got the quest, played my Apprentises, played the Quest, played Tony, played.... Oh shit! No more spells.... FeelsBadMan LOL
Was trying out a new Control Pally deck for the 1st time that uses Medivh, the Guardian. With Medivh's weapon equipped I played a Hydrologist, then Sunkeeper Tarim, then 2 secrets.... Failfish Not going to make that mistake again.
I've tried it and it doesn't work out. You just can't clear the opponents board and they run you over. It seems like it should be good, but even if you get the Rag hero power you can't target their minions. So it becomes an RNG fiasco. With the big taunts you are able to control the board more efficiently.
@Kla_guy, how many total games played against them? Maybe it's just too small of a sample size. Also, what specific tech cards do you have in your deck?
Edit: I guess I should have looked at your last post. Oh well, glad you raised the %
Yes, that is very, very true. The only problem with that (at least statistically speaking) is that the numbers are blind to each players skill levels. So you do get the numbers of what decks are being played and their win rates, but they don't speak the whole truth. So, I totally agree with with what you're saying there. And I agree that sticking with one deck and just grinding with that 1 deck is better than just randomly switching decks. You get far higher win rates with decks you're comfortable with because you make less mistakes and such. When the meta gets bad for your deck, that's when you just start teching in cards.
But now I see what you were going for with the question! GL climbing!
@booganzoth, I'd say that there are too many factors to worry about, but they don't really have any correlation with the composition of decks at a specific rank. So skill cap can be a 'factor', but it is not relevant enough to worry about. Same for collection. Each game is against an individual whose collection is randomly obtained, but that factor is irrelevant since you aren't continually playing against that 1 individual consistently. You are going to play someone else with a different collection. Besides, that information is unobtainable regardless. So it is kind of a 'how deep down the rabbit hole do you want (or need) to go'. Not sure what you are really looking to do with this, but the most relevant and important information is just the overall rank statistics of which class and deck type are being played currently. So hypothetically, if there were only 3 classes (A, B, C) and A>B; B>C; C>A and at rank 5, 90% of all players are playing B, then you should be playing A to get the best chance of winning. Regardless if C is rank 1 legend, A is the correct, choice. Hope this kind of answers your question.
But also remember that this is a simulation and win rates are constantly in flux. So while your win rate at Rank 15 will be high, once you get to Rank 5 it will drop as you will be facing better players and better decks. This is just a strictly mathematical simulation based off of a static average win rate.

I loved playing Dragon decks, but hated throwing out a Blackwing Corruptor without a Dragon in hand..... Ooops.

BTW this is a great thread. I am cracking up! I always find it funny how you can remember your blunders from like years back!
