Funny that they put a crafting cost there but you can't actually craft her.

Maybe stop being afraid and be brave like a man.

Performance anxiety doesn't come from a fear of playing video games, but specifically from a fear of doing poorly and there is a perfectly logical Neurobiological explanation for it. Here is the simplified version: Being in a competitive environment causes our Testosterone and Adrenaline levels to rise significantly, which amplifies our reaction to winning and losing in a way that causes us to play worse , stop playing altogether, or (in extreme cases) even become physically nauseous in response to doing poorly. In the long term, these processes are physically and emotionally debilitating and may cause the subject to either reduce his play-time or stop playing permanently if not controlled.
Telling people to start being "brave like a man" is useless because these chemical reactions are completely involuntary; people don't choose to have performance anxiety, it simply happens to them and there is little they can do to stop it. Starcraft 2 professionals, many of whom had ladder anxiety at some point in their career, recommend taking breaks and doing something else while playing like listening to music or taking to a friend. You can also try to trick your brain by redefining what it means to win in a way that allows you to "win" every game you play.
But the only sure way to permanently eliminate ladder anxiety not only in Hearthstone but in any competitive activity is to simply do it a lot, so much that playing ranked becomes second nature to you; once you get to that point, you will stop secreting as much adrenaline when playing ranked and the games won't feel important or special to you anymore.

OrkozeroX posted a message on Do you feel nervous and worried whenever you play hearthsotne?Posted in: General DiscussionI'm really glad to see that the forum is accepting and open to this kind of concern and the responses are so supportive and helpful
Certainly, the purpose of the game is to enjoy and have fun, but yes I too feel stressed to try and ladder climb sometimes. I actually think that if one plays less frequently it would add more to the stress...since the 1-3 games I play every other day are much more impactful to my climb than if I were able to spend 7 hours playing a ton of games.

ghostygirl posted a message on Do you feel nervous and worried whenever you play hearthsotne?Posted in: General DiscussionI get nervous in any PvP situation. I have it in WoW and it's the same in Hearthstone. In WoW, I just avoid any PvP situations as much as I can but that isn't an option in Hearthstone. In Hearthstone I just force myself to do it and it usually eases up after a match or two though it's worse in Arena where I actually have gold 'invested' so there's extra pressure to get at least 3 wins. I usually just play Casual once I get my rank down past 20 to get the card back because then I feel less pressure to win on top of the usual PvP issues (though with most of the dailies involving winning, there is some pressure there too). Part of the anxiety is more related to the thought of embarassing myself or doing something that will make an opponent dislike me.
I've been playing the Naxx stuff a lot lately. After beating all of the heroic bosses, I have been going back to some of the more interesting boss fights and trying to beat those with each class. It's challenging (though rather frustrating when a big part of it comes down to having the right stuff in my opening hand and my opponent not having certain things to start off with). Playing the class challenges can be kind of fun too. Doing any of the solo stuff really helps me relax while still getting me practice in playing the game.

Jaraxle87 posted a message on Do you feel nervous and worried whenever you play hearthsotne?Posted in: General DiscussionIt's common - not just to Hearthstone, but many games with a ladder. It's called "ladder anxiety".
There's even articles about overcoming it - here's one from PC Gamer:
http://www.pcgamer.com/uk/2014/07/16/hearthstone-help-tips-for-overcoming-ladder-anxiety/
Firstly thanks so much for this! This article is really amazing and helpful.
I have the same problem as a lot of the other people in this thread, for me it was less anxiety or more commonly anger from bad luck (i swear, sometimes it feels like RNGesus really just hates me) but the tips are extremely helpful. Music always helps me more than anything, playing some good tunes always helps me to not focus as hard on the game and relax a little while playing. It is a little reassuring to know that other people experience this though.

Malanon posted a message on Do you feel nervous and worried whenever you play hearthsotne?Posted in: General Discussionthe anxiety is created because you are attaching too much importance to your ranked games. As many others have said, you can alleviate this by playing more ranked games and eventually the anxiety will subside. i get the same way in chess tournaments sometimes - way worse than hearthstone. my advice? don't hesitate and let your mind run between ranked games. as soon as your game is over, whether it's a win or a loss, click that big Play button again and just keep going. don't worry about performance until these negative feelings go away - just play.

love_pho posted a message on Do you feel nervous and worried whenever you play hearthsotne?Posted in: General DiscussionThey try to treat phobias through "exposure treatment" and "systematic desensitization". I'd suggest that the OP do the same. Play a lot. Lose a lot. Win a lot.
If you look at this game statistically, you see that most decks have less than a 60% win rate. A lot of them have less than a 55% win rate. That means that most decks are going to lose almost half the time. If you play enough games, you are statistically going to LOSE 40-45% (or more) of the time, NO MATTER WHAT DECK YOU PLAY.
So, play a lot, get used to losing. Or, try playing online poker for a while and reading some poker books. You'll learn that over time, by making the right play, and trusting the statistics, you can win more than 50% of the time, and over time means that you will come out ahead. OVER TIME. Losing is a part of any game. Learning to lose is part of the game. Not just by giving up, but losing by making the best plays possible for all the right reasons just means that you are just part of statistics...that by playing correctly you are playing the best way possible, and will statistically come out ahead in the long run.
At least this is true in poker. In Hearthstone, the statistics and play doesn't translate directly, but the concepts remain the same.

I'm so happy quest rogue is back. I love watching my opponent play solitaire.

Those are physical card games as well though. You don't really "own" anything in Hearthstone because it's all digital, and trading is impossible.

I miss you my dear friend.

most broken card in the game, pls delet

I still haven't faced this card once.

I'd rather nerf dark pact, the insane healing and combo potential in this card is just broken. You can silence or poly the lackeys and cubes, but with dark pact you don't even get the chance to.

I like how you're punished for playing control against paladin because of divine favor. Clear everything? Nope, DF and back to puking minions onto the board.

I'm just happy I'm not a new player, geez.

Can't even survive until turn 6 in most of my games, paladin just flooding the board and refilling their hand with divine favor, such a bullshit class.
