I have my doubts about going all-in on the bombs for Mech Hunter. I believe the way to go will be a mid-range variant akin to the old Mech Mage. Were you just played the mechs for their tribal synergy, and used the classes tools to support them. The bombs are nice, and seem like a decent plan. But, you're going to run out of gas quick, and there's no efficient way to reload. The burst isn't consistent or high enough to warrant an all-in strategy imho. I'll be putting together a mid-range strategy, and seeing if the mechs as a tribe are strong enough this time around. Hunter has some good class cards and removal options, so the support is there, it just all depends on the mechs themselves.

First of all, Jaraxxus was never an "auto include" in every hand lock list, the deck in which he was most common. It was a tech card most of the time, in metas where, wait for it, you could afford the loss in tempo. Metas where control was more popular than aggro, and hand lock could afford to be greedier. I have no idea when there will be a meta where hunter can afford to be greedy enough, as to play a 10 mana 8/8 dragon, that doesn't affect the board in any way when it's played.

I feel like the only way this sees play. Is if you can somehow cheat it out early, and still have it's battlecry go off. And I don't see any way to do that just yet.

Another card that would be auto include in most other classes. Hunter just doesn't have any consistent ways to draw the extra copies. +3/3 is only decent by itself, and Spell Hunter would rather draw its removal in most cases anyway. Maybe if Control Hunter becomes a thing, this sees play as a 1x. OR if Quest Hunter gets good, and you can use the raptors to draw your deck, maybe you play a copy or two of this.

This, exactly this. You can't spend 10 mana on a card that essentially does nothing. Too much of a tempo loss. AND, if you can actually afford the tempo loss, you've already won the game. This is the epitome of a "win more" card. Only way this sees any play is if you can somehow cheat it out for free, or at a reduced cost.

In any other class, this would be broken. In Hunter, as it stands right now, it's just not good enough. Obviously need to see the rest of the set first. But, maybe if Hunter gets a way to draw cards consistently, and can make it to turn 10 with a decent sized hand, then this could see play. It's one of those legendary cards that you'll have to build a deck around. Excited to see if this spawns a new Hunter archetype, glad that Blizz is still trying to make Hunter do things other than be aggro.

As much as I love the Quest itself. I'm definitely having more regular success with a standard mid-range beast build. Maybe it's just the meta, but the quest feels unessicary. Plain old Hunter curvestone just wins.

Great list as usual Spark. After playing both this and the all-in 1drop deck. I think it's definitely been settled that a more mid-range variant of Quest Hunter is the way to go. The all 1drop deck just feels so weak. You get out paced very quickly by aggro and mid-range. And if control can clear your board once, you almost always lose. At least with lists like this one, you have a chance to fight for the board and eventually close them out.  Hopefully, Quest Hunter can evolve with the meta and stay relevant. For now, it feels good to play, while being moderately powerful.

That's exactly why I think anyone trying the all 1drop deck is going to fail miserably. How do you ever keep up that tempo and win games? Every class has ways to clear a board more than once. You'll just run out of steam before ever killing them. It's going to have to be more mid-range if its ever going to work. Which the more I look at it, the more I think the quest isn't good enough. The reward itself is underwhelming to me. I'm thinking the deck for Hunter is going to be a mid-range beast oriented one. With cards like Bittertide Hydra and Swamp King Dred . I just don't see a quest deck being viable enough to consistently pick up wins. Hopefully I'm wrong, but my gut tells me otherwise.

Glad to see that were of the same mindset with the quest deck needing to be more midrange, rather than just a bunch of one drops. I'll be testing out a very similar build myself. Hopefully the Hunter quest is good enough and the deck becomes viable and consistently picks up wins. Hunter desperately needs something  like this to breath life back into the class.

How is Starving Buzzard working out for you? I know the meta is slow but, that seems a bit too greedy. Especially at x2. I'd love to be proven wrong though. So, I'll for sure give the deck a try as its currently built.

I've studied and had my friends who routinely hit legend watch me play and they:

1 Have told me I'm not made too many MAJOR mistakes

2 Are amazed at just how bad my luck is.....it's one of those things that you need to witness to believe

And, yes, to all of the sad little geeks aching to say something "clever" from hiding.....I AM working on my game....studying....watching streams/other content.....it's just not enough to overcome getting raped by RNG over and over again.

Lawl, someone seems a little sensitive. Keep trying m8, maybe you'll hit legend someday. In the meantime, here's a website I used to help myself become legendary. https://tempostorm.com/ ... You can also use the code "tempostorm" to save yourself 30% off on premium content! Cheers m8!

You shouldn't have too hard of a time against Reno decks as long as you have board control when they Reno. All that healing is useless if your opponent is staring down a Savannah Highmane or two, and or Dr. Boom . Other than that, what's worked best for me is to try and burst them down before they feel the need to Reno. Save your Kill Command (if you can) as it's your only burn/reach in this deck. They come in handy when trying to ensure you have enough damage to burst a Reno deck down from say 15hp+.

I agree with you though. What I wouldn't give at times for an Infinite Obliteration. Hahaha.

posted a message on hunter mill... THINK ABOUT IT!

Hunter is arguably the absolute worst class to try and build a Mill deck with. Your hero power is innately made for going aggressive/fast, and doesn't provide you with any sort of defense/heal. Same goes for your class cards, none of them really provide you with any way to stall someone out until you can win a fatigue war. If you want to try a Mill deck go with Rogue or Druid, they do it the best. And even then, Mill decks will never be great in HS as you don't auto lose when you Mill someone, you have to win a fatigue war.
