posted a message on Warrior isn't getting new waveclear and reckless furry rotating out.

Warrior might be...a little unconventional this set. I think later on in the year we'll start getting more traditional cards again (like the Taunt gimmick in Un'Goro into the more reasonable Blood Razor/Scourgelord in KotFT) but for now Warrior is going to be in a weird spot without Tank Up and amazing aoe like Reckless Flurry and Blood Razor.

We still don't know the entire set so I wouldn't count them out just yet, but we DO get Dr. Boom, which is cool. I'm looking forward to experimenting with these new themes until we get some stronger cards down the line. That's typically how Warrior works in standard.

posted a message on New Card Reveal - Unseen Saboteur

People are talking about this card as an anti-combo tool but it's quite more than that; this card can really screw with control mirror matches. This on an empty board pulling out a Brawl that does nothing, or a Twisting Nether for only one card, or an upgraded Hagatha's Scheme, or a Mass Hysteria... The list goes on.

Losing important AoE cards can be devastating for the victim. I can see this card seeing play in the tournament scene easily. Ladder, maybe, but definitely pro level.

    Here's my submission:

"She's got the killing part down, but resurrecting is a different story."

A simple card, but impactful nonetheless. Reminiscent of the late Zombie Chow (may you rest in peace) and the current Emerald Hive Queen, this card is an essential "1 cost 2/3 with a drawback" that a lot of aggressive decks like to use. For decks that like to go big or go home, this minion is a strong turn 1 play that, combined with buff cards and other effects, can be pretty nasty early on. Burning five cards seems like an okay drawback at first, but it leaves you more open to fatigue later in the game if your opponent can outlast you.

posted a message on Six Card Nerfs Coming - Naga Sea Witch, Spiteful Summoner, and More!

LMAO at Caverns Below being nerfed twice.

These nerfs are fine for the most part (I can agree with some of the Paladin mains that have argued for Call to Arms), but only giving Spiteful Summoner a love-tap by increasing its mana cost by 1 is such a copout IMO. Now instead of stealing all of the tempo away from the game and winning the game with a 12/12 on turn 6, they have to wait until TURN 7! Wow, amazing.

The problem with Spiteful decks is that they have plenty of tempo-oriented minions in their deck and can wait until turn 6 with no issues in order to drop Summoner and win with a high roll. Moving that goalpost one turn away doesn't fix the problem. You could say, "oh, then there's really no way to nerf the card without completely reworking it", and yes, I'd agree with you. Bliz has completely reworked cards before to make them less powerful. Unleash the Hounds is a good example, since it used to have a completely different effect which was too strong, then was too strong AGAIN even with the weaker effect.

I could be wrong, who knows. They moved the goalpost one turn away from Caverns Below and that killed the deck (until this set hit), but as I see it, Summoner didn't even get touched.

posted a message on New Mage Card Reveal - Arcane Keysmith

Not looking forward to facing Secret Mage on the ladder next rotation.

Kirin Tor + Explosive Runes on 3 is guaranteed to stop the minion you play next turn unless you're aggro, and with this, they can potentially shut down your minions for two whole turns, basically locking you out of the rest of the game, because let's face it, not stabilizing by turn 5 against Secret Mage is a death sentence.

I'm thinking that all of these sets could be related to Outland.

Set 1: Terrokar Forest is a zone in WoW with the same kind of faded green/white color palette as depicted in the picture. We could easily see more Arrakoa in this set, and perhaps some demons, maybe some kind of Auchenai Crypts series of cards that are all ghosts?

Set 2: The bright pink, purple, and gold looks like a dead giveaway for a Tempest Keep or Netherstorm themed expansion, probably the former, as there are lots of raid bosses Bliz could make legendaries around. A Kael'Thas card would be awesome to see.

Set 3: This is the most unlikely one, but part of me sees the similarities to the Naga machinery in Serpentshrine Caverns. It could easily be any other nautically-themed set, though.

Here's my submission, I hope you all like it!

Nagas can be druids, right? In the Hearthstone universe, probably. Either way, this card takes a different approach to druids having bad single target removal effects. "Swapping" to me just screams versatility, so why not make a Choose One card? This way, you can be flexible in how you remove something, but also have to pay 5 mana for an under-statted minion. Swap Health with something? Still only has 2 attack. Swap Attack? Only has 2 health. Like any Choose One card, it's going to heavily depend on the situation.

    Choose One forms:

Hello, everyone! I participated last week because I thought it would be fun, and, hey, it was! So, I figured I'd come back and put in my two cents. Here's a Druid card I thought of; something about the whole "swap" mechanic just screams "flexibility", so why not have a Choose One card?

    What do you guys think?

    Anyways, your Warlock cards!

Underworld Tour Guide: I concur with Mewdrops. It should be worded as "1-Cost Demon" when compared to Desert Camel. Speaking of which, this seems a bit too weak when compared to Desert Camel and Mounted Raptor. Plus, there's only 4 1-cost Demons in Hearthstone (Flame ImpBlood ImpMalchezaar's Imp, and Voidwalker). Thus, I think you should buff it to a 3 mana 2/2 or 2 mana 1/1. Besides that, it's a fine card for Demonlock/Zoolock.

Grapha, Dark Dragon Lord: Again, I agree with Mewdrops for the wording ('If you discard this minion, summon it and destroy a random enemy minion'). I feel like it's too "swingy" though. If you manage to discard this early in the game, you get an 8/8 before turn freaking 5 AND destroy an enemy minion. You basically just won the game due to RNG, and I feel like that might be a bit too frustrating to play against. If you don't discard it? You get an 8 mana 8/8. That's a incredibly small drawback for a potentially huge tempo swing.

I went ahead and changed the wording on the card and made it a 2/2 (I hope that's okay). Still keeping the Silence, though, because it's necessary for the card's flavor and also means the card would theoretically take up less design space, so people could design 1-cost demons with cool effects like Malchezaar's Imp and not have to worry about them being tutored out and combo'd with for 3 mana (or 2 if I decided to lower its cost).

Grapha was mostly a joke, which was why I didn't submit it. My friend noticed I made Tour Guide into a Warlock card and went "Why not make some broken discardlock support by making Grapha?"

Interesting cards! I used to play Dark World decks a lot (well, my friend did), so this definitely hits the nostalgia notes right XD.
Tour Guide: I'd probably just say '1-Cost Demon'. At 3 mana, I feel it's too weak. Maybe as a 2 mana 1/1? That way it's powerful on curve with Flame Imp, but not too powerful.

I suppose a 2-mana 4/3 is fair, but since it thins the deck, I wanted it to be a little bit toned down. Zoo doesn't have a lot of stellar plays on turn 3 besides dropping a devilsaur egg or playing a 1-drop and tapping, etc, so I thought it fit pretty well in 3 mana. Plus, it's a 3-star monster in Yu-gi-oh, which works for flavor purposes.

Hey everybody! I was the one who came up with Underworld Tour Guide a while ago:

What do you guys think? I originally had her at 2 mana, but thought that would be too broken, so I bumped it up to 3. A 2 mana 2/1 that summons a Flame Imp was just Tuskarr Totemic all over again, but a 3 mana card that does the same thing isn't all that threatening these days IMO.

I also considered this as my submission, but it would be far too broken, so I didn't. People who play or played Yu-gi-oh will understand, but this card was ridiculously broken back in its time, so I wanted to replicate that.

I've never done one of these challenges before, but I played a lot of Yu-gi-oh before I played Hearthstone, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

This cute little tour guide will show your other demons out to the battlefield, provided they're small enough. Like its namesake, Underworld Tour Guide can only summon a very limited amount of demons. I think an effect like this translates pretty well, and this card would fit right in a traditional kind of Zoo that runs a lot of demons. Since the demon that comes out is silenced, you're purely getting the stats on the board, so discard synergies won't work if you only run Malchezaar's Imp, which I think balances it out. This also prevents any shenanigans with future 1-cost demons that might come out in the future.
