You can't build a deck that basically counters every single other one. You just can't. You can tech in some cards to improve some matchups, sure, but that would be inconsistent because you still need to draw those cards. It is impossible to put into your deck a tech for every other meta deck, because the result would be a win-conditionless garbage, that only plays defense, is inconsistent, and wins like 10% of the times, cause is filled by cards useful against only one deck. If you mostly face Highlander, Big Priest play aggro. If you face Burn Mage play weapon removal for Aluneth and the 3/6 Kobold that protects your hero from spells. You just can't counter all popular decks, because if you could build one deck that manages to do it, everybody would play that.
as this kind mister said though, you can't try to counter every single deck out there with techs as your own deck will lose its identity. Try to adapt to the decks you're facing the most and keep it flexible, if your matchups change, make the proper adjustments to the cards you're playing,
Big Priest with the spellstone is basically an unwinnable matchup. it sucks how they can just exhaust your removal and keep using those res effects while having a ton of heal and removal themselves. As to Raza Priest, i used to have a positive winrate playing a kazakus control warlock deck, if you pressure them enough you should be able to win.
Vs Mage i've been running weapon removal and it REALLY helps, although that deck is just unstoppable if they draw well enough early on.
now answering the question in the topic, Rin should be a solid choice vs the priest decks, maybe an extra twisting nether is more effective against Big Priest. As for mage it is kinda the natural counter to control warlock decks but if it is Aluneth screwing you over add an ooze in there, sometimes slowing them down is all you need
to every single of you secret mage players: go fuck yourselves
Why? At least it's not razakus again.
I'm OK with decks being good as long as they're different. If only there were better ways to tech against secrets...
really ? explosive runes wrecking everything you play, counterspells for free, random spell discovery every two turns, free 5/5s, endless draws with Aluneth... it's insanely annoying to play against since they mostly ignore what you do and just burn you down. zero interactivity, pretty much like razakus
i've been having some sucess on Standard running Elemental Shaman, the new elemental with the brann effect for 1 turn is VERY STRONG with cards like Kalimos
got it on my first try with warrior and paladin. Hunter i managed to get on the second one. Struggling really hard with Shaman though, can't seem to get the same set of cards :( any tips ?
They need to stop announcing all the cards prior to expansions. I get wanting to get people excited for it, but having everyone running the same handful of netdecks (+/- tech cards) half an hour after launch isn't fun. If you try and experiment you'll run a 10% WR because everyone else has been assembling theory decks for the past month+. The meta already feels 90% (if not 100%) defined and now the only thing for other people to do is buy packs to catch up until they can copy these decks. What's the point in experimenting/being creative when it was known a month ago that it wouldn't work as a deck?
Yes, I could have done the same thing myself but that isn't fun. Why do I keep expecting this game to be about having fun?
there is no space for fun in this game, unfortunately. Even the casual game mode is filled with tier 1 meta decks. Hell even the damn TAVERN BRAWL that's supposed to be fun after 30 minutes has shit like Jade Druid
so, AGGRO HIGHLANDER PRIEST WITH PIRATES SCALEBANE AND BONEMARE ??????????????????????????????????

PRIEST
i hate this game.
LUL and bonemare will stay for a long time and all decks find uses for those cards so get used to it ! Its infuriating yes but unless blizzard do something about the card, deal with it champ
this is fucking insane man! how can you play an aggro deck with one ofs ? neutral cards and machine gun thanks to anduin made it possible
We have survived the storm of the jade monster and our deliverance is only months away. Despite our controlling ways being dealt a harsh blow with miracles abounding we have still cobbled together a mighty defence with our murloc allies.
If we can remain relevant at a time when everything we held dear has been ripped from us then surely deliverance is at hand.
Cling to the light and do not lose faith. Take up your truesilver and know that the silverhand will be there to support us in the months ahead.
Ready your buffs and prepare to fight. We will not be silenced! Even in death our ashbringers will bring ruination.
I call all those worthy to arms and implore you to fight. Fight for our right to stay in the meta and show all those net deckers out there that justice is still here.
Paladin is bad now and will continue to be bad once the expansion hits. As much as blizzard has tried to push dude paladin back, it still lacks solid early game minions to be viable. It will get absolutely destroyed by pirate/keleseth bullshit. Control Paladin won't ever be playable when Razakus and Jade Druid are around, so.... another expansion where my favorite class is absolute crap
