I don't understand what all the whining is about. If it isn't worth $10 to you, simply don't buy it. It isn't going to effect the meta in anyway, it's purely cosmetic.
I've run into this multiple times, as I'm sure most HS players have. I just squelch, plan my next turn based on the current situation, then watch TV or browse on my phone. I refuse to reward players like Remhouse who seem to think frustrating your opponent by being purposefully slow is a "strategy" rather than what it really is which is BM.
The following is speculation. Since its unlikely anyone has access to Hearthstone's source code, I can't prove any of this, just like the pro-RNG crowd can't prove their argument either.
It's not rigged completely, but it definitely is using the same ideas as some sport arcade games. NBA Jam was notorious for allowing the person behind to make ridiculous 3-point shots with ease while the leader couldn't make a dunk.
1) There is no true "RNG". - While there are cards that have variable outcomes, those outcomes can are are being skewed based on the game. You are more likely to get a favorable outcome if you are losing. Doing this keeps the game interesting and prevents constant blowouts, which would discourage "bad" players.
It might look like the following. Take the boom-bot. If the game is even, then you have a 25% chance to deal 1-4 damage.
If you are behind, dealing 4 gets bumped up from 25% to 40%. Same with 3. 2 damage becomes 15%, while you only have a 5% chance to deal 1. If you are winning, the opposite occurs.
It's irritating, sure. But it keeps players playing. Blizz learned long ago from WoW that denial of a goal will keep gamers coming back over and over.."Oh, your item didn't drop? Try again next week." has become "Oh, 'Rng *snicker* screwed you? Try again. No one is unlucky *lol* forever." And players will try again. And they will spend gold, and hopefully, real money.
I dunno about this. I've been ridiculously ahead, used Bane of Doom and drew Mal'Ganis. I've also been ridiculously behind and Boom Botted for -1, -1.
Blizzard knows their player base, particularly those interested in HS, are likely to "do the math" at some point. Any revelation confirming manipulation would ruin them.
To the above poster, I agree with most of your post. However, this isn't a "zero sum game". Win streaks mean there are more stars than there are wins. You could have an insane run and get to legend with less than 50% win rate, highly unlikely, yet possible.
There are no more bonus stars above rank 6, which is why a large portion of players hit the "Rank 5 wall" and will never make legend until they do something to get better than average results.
Right, which is why it's highly unlikely to reach Legend with less than 50% win rate. I'm saying it's mathematically possible to kick around in the lower ranks losing, then win streak through to the finish and end that streak as Legend with less than 50% wins. Maybe one in the 30,000,000,000 registered players will pull it off someday lol.

Guys i have a question.. i'm a "free to player" , i play since september '14 .. Now i've completed both the adventues (but last Naxx wing) and usually to "enlarge" my collection i play mostly arenas.. But now, i've all the playable GvG cards, and i don't know if is better to continue to play arenas or to buying expert cards, cause i still need some .. Expecially epic and legendary class cards.. What are your advices?
Ps now i have 3 core leg card: Rag, dr Boom, Sylvanas (other than Old shredder, Onyxia, Geddon and adventures legendaries) and i have enough dust for 2 leg card.. what can i craft? Sorry for my ultra bad english
If you enjoy playing arena, play arena. Gradually craft the expert cards you need to finish decks you want to play? My 2c.

It was fun, but I'm glad I won the first game I played and I don't plan on doing it again. I don't understand the appeal of MORE RNG to people...

Somebody just opened 60 packs, got nothing, and is now cursing your unborn children....

Unless you're on a Legend grind, just push dat dere Concede button if you suspect a Patron warrior.
On to the next one! It's a game, have fun and don't sweat the Patrons.
For me, there is no greater satisfaction in this game than beating the decks I hate most (F*Hunter and Patron warrior).

Bought the mage. E-peen grew .00005 mm. Totally worth it.

Was hoping for a Warlock hero...
Really like the Tavern Braw concept!!

It's definitely rigged. Millions of dollars are won and lost based on the outcome of Hearthstone matches in secret basement internet cafes.
Nothing will stoop them!!

My first golden lengendary from a pack was Deathwing. ;/
Second one was Thalnos...so there's that at least.
