posted a message on Dungeon Runs; Super Fun teachable for deck building or just me?

@Dahkss I totally agree. I got win 5 with rogue and now that I have no clue how well Kele rogue may do I was really hoping it'd work in dungeon runs.

Do you have any advice as to which lonely hunter deck is best to you so far? I have seen so many I am almost overwhelmed lol. Thanks for the super positive vibes about oakheart too, I have a control lock deck I saw on another site I am hoping to unpack soon.

posted a message on Dungeon Runs; Super Fun teachable for deck building or just me?

I have been spending all my time playing dungeons runs (best I have done so far is 7/8 with a jungle giant all cards > 5 are 5 {naga sea witch on steroids)/ double hp deck) and it is the most fun I have had playing HS. You get to see cool wild cards (seeing a lot of inspire mechanics) and work on building a deck (kind of like a how to for arena deck building). Plus the choose one of 3 trees each round is kind of reminiscent of WoW talent trees. Everybody should give it a try if they are frustrated/ trying to wait out the meta.

    //// DISCLAIMER ////

**I was gifted the hunter weapon and out of the 33 decks I have opened so far my only legendary has been Master Oakheart so maybe that is partly why I am loving dungeon runs**

Thanks all for reading and I look forward to the discussion!

^^edit; the 7/8 I lost on was the darkness as my turn 8 boss. Damn he sucked...

Am I the only one who just uses the auto complete Blizzard deck for whatever class I have quests for that day and calls it a week? Warrior seems fine this week.

posted a message on Ever Worth Believing a Friend Request?

So far after having read every comment posted so far it seems like the salt should be expected, brace for it, thrive on it, revel in it. But you may also make legitimate friends and if you can laugh off the salt it is worth it. Very glad I asked this question and I feel better now about the fact I keep (misguidedly so far) accepting these requests. At least I know to type up a response before I accept and to know the situation in which the request was made.

Thank you everybody! Pretty much all these responses have been amazing and I definitely will keep accepting. It didn't ruin my day (I kind of thought it was funny that he went to the trouble of it) and so if I will on occasion receive real requests then I may as well risk it. I can use the tips and tricks to see which type of player to be more wary of as well.

posted a message on Ever Worth Believing a Friend Request?

I just beat a control warlock using a keleseth warlock on coin (I was lucky enough to coin out kele turn 1 and drop malch imp soulfire t2). At one point he wiped my board with 2 defiles and a well placed minion hit. I thought overall he played really well. After I won the match he friend requested me and I foolishly accepted thinking, meh maybe this is a legit friend request because that was a fun match. Instead I of course got flamed told to suck the biggest d*** and go back to rank 25 where my skills belonged and I was a f***ot and I was carried by rng (aren't we all to an extent?). Anyway I won't ever be accepting another friend request I don't think, or is it ever worth it?

posted a message on The Hunter Impression

My main memory of hunters is back when one outrolled my ret pal in karazhan to get gorehowl. I think Huntard me go face or me ninja loot are both fairly apt labels.:P

    *Edit*

Having thought about it I do agree about their class in Hearthstone. Just hard to forget that loot roll lol.

posted a message on Recruit paladin beats Reno priest??? WTF!?!?

I have only ever reached rank 9 so I can't say that the higher ranks would be the same but I find that playing recruit pal I have a pretty even match up with reno priest. As a previous poster mentioned as long as you aren't a moron and save your recruits for immediate buffs or when you are sure your opponent has no answer to leave them for a round (just used an AoE/ number of cards left in their hand/ board state) you can make massive swings both in life total and in tempo. Especially by using the 3/3 that gives your 1 health minions divine shield and following that (say the summon 5 or summon 3 and 1/4 wep) with a qm or lightforged or sunkeeper next turn. Again I never get into the higher ranks due to lack of play time and anxiety when reaching personal high ranks but I don't imagine your play history is true of the reno priest recruit match up in general. As people previously said perhaps you just have a deck better optimized for this specific match up but I don't doubt overall that it is more even than you think.

    posted a message on Rank 10 - 5?

When I stick with 1 deck for a day or a week I can definitely see myself understanding my opponents and my own turns much more efficiently. I am glad to see it echoed because that is definitely a helpful thing for me to take into consideration if I decide 10-5 is something I can do and still enjoy. If I can find 2 fun decks at least I can still keep things fun.

    posted a message on Rank 10 - 5?

Thank you everybody for the responses. I reached rank 10 this month wild because I have found it easier to rank up in wild. Last month I reached rank 11 for first time and it was wild; this season with 10 also wild. Ideally I would like to be able to just stick with standard, especially as the expansions come out so much faster; and getting to benchmark ranks in wild helps ease my anxiety in standard. Thusly, all the advice on both accounts (reaching 10 and advancing to 5 from 10 in Standard or Wild) is hugely appreciated and I am glad to see some other people are struggling the same way I am. Once again, thanks everybody for all your help.

I reached rank 10 for the first time this season using this wild tempo rogue variant:

    # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

I found it on HearthStonetopdecks (my other site I use to netdeck each month) . After hitting 10 I immediately realized how much tougher the 10-5 bracket is than the 15-10. I want to try to rank up but am having no luck thus far. Is this a bracket where you really need to stick with 1 deck to advance? I played recruit pal, giants hunter and tempo rogue to hit rank 10 on wild and for my rank 11 on standard I have used marin fatigue (trump), aggro token (the PP with onyxia and cenarius), buff pal, murloc pal, kele demon zoo and aggro taunt (the one from front page a few days ago). I really enjoy trying new decks but I also want to try to continue to reach at least rank 10. My main question is (as my previous posts have asked) is there a way to have fun (alt deck a lot) to rank 5? Or does rank 10+ require a certain stringency?

posted a message on Kick in the Ace?

I can't believe the amount of responses this thread has garnered and I would be remiss if I didn't take a couple minutes thanking everybody who has taken the time out of their life to comment and help me better understand what it is I am even expecting to get from the game. It has always seemed impossible to me to lose my highest rank by playing once I had reached it for fear of falling back to 15 again. Seeing so many of you mentioning that I need to enjoy it and that it should be fun is hugely helpful and considering that I can just get back whatever I lose through a >50% win rate (especially with a couple win streaks) makes things clearer to me.

@linkblade91 I suppose my particular reason is I am a human and I feel like a failure if I play a game I love but have nothing to show for it. I do understand that is male arrogance but still I feel the need to have something to show my wife for the time I waste on HS.:P I would like to also take this time to thank everybody who has taken the time to read and/ or view this string. The more people tell me not to care about rank the easier it becomes.:) Thanks hearthpwn.

If I somehow kick my anxiety to the wayside is rank 5 truly that easy? I have seen that listed before as a serious players' bench mark. As I said my best ever was wild 11 with recruit pal.
