Also amalgadon is a way to keep overscaled builds in check if there is no murloc tribe in game, like you say, tricksters for instance.
I agree, and i think the biggest problem is making your murlocs poisonous too early, and condition is not that hard to achieve. (Better than the old poison murloc tho) Moving it up to tier 6 maybe a good solution. And this also can remove some forced amalgadons on tavern 6, as he is the only "murloc" on tavern 6. Like cookie using the hero power on his buddy at non-murloc lobbies at tavern 6, or murloc hero using his buddy on tier 6 minions.
But with this change, i believe murlocs won't keep up with stat scaling, so primalfin should definitely stay. I even feel with this change they should move +2 health to all murlocs minion to tier 2 or something.
Overall, i completely agree with you. When i see lobbies with murloc tribe, it is almost guaranteed that the first place will be murlocs. When you know that even before picking up your hero, it really narrows down the game, and the fun. And if there is no murlocs i feel happy because i know i can try any build.

Depends how much you play BG's. It's worth it if you play them a lot in my opinion. The next expansion will most likely be early December.

Classes used to have to play cards like Loot Hoarder and Bloodmage Thalnos to get through their deck and you still only had 3 or 4 cards in your hand a turn. Now nearly every class can consistently draw 2-3 cards a turn from turn 1 and even the class with the weakest draw just discovers an extra 20 useful cards a game. Draw and hand size should have been kept as a class strength like in warlock (see also healing which since they released their outlines for class identities a few years ago seems to have gone out of the window). Being out of cards feels bad though and I don’t think blizzard want anyone to feel bad anymore while they’re playing HS. They want everyone to have massive plays every turn and each game to end in an explosion of colours and fancy effects at the cost of considerably dumbing down the game.

Over the past 2-3 years damage output has tripled, but max HP is still the same. There's no "safe zone" anymore, you can be 30 and still die on turn 7. On top of that, most of the damage comes from hand, so minion combat is pretty much redundant.
The worst is, that you can't just change 2 or 3 cards to fix it. At this point their whole design is flawed and honestly, I believe this will be the breaking point for Hearthstone, where many people will just move on, leaving it behind. I'm not sure if the game will survive this.

Wild isn't for new players, should new players complain about how inaccessible it is? I don't care for auto battlers, that doesn't mean I spend my time lamenting and complaining about a game mode that isn't for me and is basically taking up space on the UI. I can't sit there and say, make game modes that I like playing or don't make them at all. Not every mode is for everyone, that's part of the reason they make so many, to appeal to different strokes.
There are plenty of game modes for new players, arena, battlegrounds, standard, tavern brawl, solo player content including dungeon runs. It's good they're introducing ways for long time players to utilize their large, otherwise potentially unused collections.
They could have had a separate wild and standard version, but they probably couldn't see the incentive there.

I don’t get the same enjoyment I used to, especially when it comes to building an off meta deck in standard.
I don’t mind a few games a week, but I don’t feel like investing more time than that.
I also don’t spend real money any more, I feel I spent enough since beta to pay for this game.

Not sure that the issue is the quests, most are complaining about cheap card draw, power creep and mana discount.

Agreed, mana discount is very powerful, should have a huge overload effect to ruin the tempo of who cast it.

Played since beta, and lost interest recently but thought to give it another run, especially as this expansion looked good. But minion combat is what is fun, though seems not important to the devs anymore. Am f2p and got the Mage quest out of only 5 packs opened, but I don’t want to use it. I want to think, not spew out my hand and blast face damage.

Not keen on reading some knob talking bout my mum or sister while I’m forcing murlocs
